Eleanor stays up late at night, twisting and turning on her bed as she wrecks her brain on how to deal with the dimensional crack.
“Fuck… My head hurts… Huh… All my problems will go away if I have enough energy to seal up the crack for good… but I don’t. Now, what? If I weren’t crippled, I’d be able to get out there and figure something out. But since I can’t… Dammit! How the fuck am I going to raise enough hatred to pull this off? Think, think, think. I need a constant stream of hate from at least a hundred thousand people… one hundred thousand who would dedicate their heart to hating me… one hundred thousand who would hate the devil with a religious fervor… one hundred thousand believers… Wait! Wait a gosh diddly darn minute!”
Eleanor jerks up from bed excitedly, but her sudden motion gives her a stabbing pain in her head. She lowers herself back to bed, smiling ear to ear.
The next morning, she gathers her followers to listen to her command.
“Fateful conduits and believers, last night I had a revelation from our god, Lord Ceram who reigns in heaven.”
The people burst into loud murmurs but Eleanor raises her hand to silence them and continues.
“Our lord has given me a vision and commanded me to act as his messenger. Therefore, I shall relay his message to you in whole. I beg you to listen and follow his will because this holds great importance for the fate of our world itself.”
The conduits, who are composed of high ranking knights and mages all gulp and gaze at Eleanor with eyes of reverence.
“This kingdom—nay, this world is reaching a turning point. One that may lead to the end of us all. The earth will burn and the ocean will boil as fire and brimstone fall from the sky. Bodies will be stacked high as mountains and blood will bathe the three continents—unless… we put a stop to the man responsible. The one who calls himself… Adrian Acker, The Devil!”

“The devil!?”
“The terrorist who attacked the capital!”
“Adrian Acker is no mere terrorist, my friends. He is evil incarnate, the bringer of the end times—The Devil, himself! Adrian Acker is the enemy of our lord and he wants nothing more than to destroy us all, God’s greatest creation!”
“We must defeat him! We must kill this devil!”
“But you can’t! No one can. Mortals cannot kill evil, just as we cannot kill air. He lives in every heart. He feeds on every evil deed men commit. For as long as we hate each other more than the devil, he shall be victorious in the end.”
“Then how can we destroy him, your holiness?! Is there no way to avoid the apocalypse?”
“Be not worried, friend, for Lord Ceram has shown me a way. Listen closely for each and every one of you is God’s chosen and your action from today forward shall determine the fate of this planet. To defeat the devil… you must hate him.”
“Hate?”
“Yes—hate! You must hate the devil more than anything in the world! For he is the root of all evil. All suffering. If you see sickness, know that that is the work of the devil. If you see hunger, war, famine, corruption, or anything that is wrong with this world, know that it all came from the devil! The devil makes people steal. The devil makes people kill. The devil is the reason why man hates his neighbor. He knows that we are weaker, divided. So he works his machinations and sows distrust among us, in hopes that we will fight among ourselves. Only by banding together directing our accumulated anger at the true enemy, may we stand a chance against him!”
“Every bad thing is because of the devil…?”
“The Devil is the one who caused my wife to miscarry?”
“Adrian Acker is the one who made my brother sick?”
“Adrian Acker… Adrain Acker! Damn him! Damn the devil!”
“Feel that anger, my friends. Fan the flame of hatred. But only aim it at the devil and no one else. Never direct hate upon your neighbors. But help them see the truth, just as I revealed the word of Ceram to you.”
Eleanor spouts angel wings on her back, causing her followers to bow in worship.
“Fateful conduits… chosen believers… I must ask you to spread the hate of the devil as far and wide as you possibly can. Travel north, east, west, and south. Journey to every village, every city and convince them to hate Adrian Acker, The Devil, above all else. Do not use force. Do not use false promises. Do not be angry if they refuse to see the truth. Help them. Convince them. Or move on to another. In the end it’s all about strength in numbers. So be ever patient and never harm another except in self defense. Go now, my friends, and make your god proud!”
