“I’ve crossed over?”

Simon had excited expression on his face. He was originally an ordinary office worker back on Earth and had been slogging hard for three meal a day only to die from overworking.

However, as soon as he woke up, he was bombarded with memories of this new world.

Which made him realize that he had crossed over into this world and was reborn as teenager with the same first name.

“Simon, Simon Reid” that was his new name and identity.

Since he had no attachment back on Earth, as his parents on earth passed away peace-fully, so it was beginning of a brand-new life.

But there was slight problem,

This world was extremely dangerous!

From the memories of this body, he understood that this parallel world was named Earth too and geographical map was the same but names of the counties were different, every else was the same.

It was not until catastrophe knows as “The Descend of Dreadbeasts”, which swept the globe, set the world on path of no return.

A large number of dimensional rifts had appeared on Earth.

A magical energy gushed out from this rifts which humans called Astral energy with spread across the world, eventually leading to evolution of the animals, as well as plant life on Earth.

Cute dogs became ferocious beasts that can bite your head clean off, while little hamsters became bloodthirsty demons. Even flowers that showed the beauty of world became man-eating vicious plants.

Then what about the animals that lived in the wild that followed the rules of the jungle, they became apocalyptic Dreadbeasts.

When everything falls, Disaster was inevitable!

These Dreadbeasts clawed into human habitats, and mankind tried to resist, but firearms could only kill some low-level Dreadbeasts.

Even nuclear weapon, which showed the military power of the country, was now unable to get desired effect.

The result was devastating, with mankind falling from the top of the found chain straight to the bottom.

Countless people perished!

Countless cities were destroyed!

Countless families were ripped apart!

Mankind’s population plummeted to one-third of it.

“Why am I so unlucky to end up in such a dangerous world?” Simon felt suffocated.

Even though he was living in base city, it was still dangerous.

One need to know that Riverstone Base city that he lived in was just a medium-sized base city with population of three million. If it was hit with slightly stronger Dreadbeasts the city’s defenses would go down and all hell breaks loose.

The body that he now possessed had been hospitalized due to serious injuries caused by a Dreadbeasts that broke into the base city.

“It looks like I am born into broke family that just declared bankruptcy last month, falling in debt of millions of dollars…”

Simon was in despair. It was not easy to get a chance to cross over, but for him to end up in such a dangerous place on top of being broke, Simon had no word to describe the feeling in his heart.

“Forget it, past is past let deal with it now that I am here.”

Simon soon focused his attention on another thing: the Astral Lords!

As the plants and animals evolved under effects of Astral energy, human that was part of the world, were no exception to.

As very few lucky ones had also evolved under the effects of Astral energy and gained incredible abilities!

Earth manipulation, Metal control, Super speed, Super strength, Water manipulation….

And these abilities are called Astral skills and those who had it were called… Astral Lords!

The emerges of Astral Lords allowed the mankind to survive and fight against Dreadbeasts, with their help human quickly stood back on their legs and established survival bases and thus, survived.

In this world of rampaging Dreadbeasts, the Astral Lords defended the humanity while they fought the Dreadbeasts, they are given special privileges as they became the upper-class beings in mankind.

“Astral Lords? Forget the identity and status of one, having an Astral itself was a fortune” a sharp light passed in Simon’s eyes.

People with Special power only existed in novels, comics, movies and TVs in his previous life, but now that people existed in real and he to had the chance to become like them.

“It’s just so tempting! If I had an Astral skill, it would be awesome…”

The more he thought, the more he was excited.

“There are generally two ways to become an Astral Lord; one is having the natural talent for Astral skills.”

“As long as one reaches the right age, they can participate in Astral trials and awaken their Astral skills!”

“But there is a small problem, very few percentages of people have the natural talent for Astral skills, and chances are there may not be one even in a group of thousands, So, the number of Astral Lords were very low, and Riverstone’s three-million population, the number of Astral Lord only amounts to a few thousands!”

“And other method was booked only for personal who are born with silver-spoon in their month, that is Astral herb which is found in the nature but guarded by strong Dreadbeasts, only strong Astral Lords could travers, which made this herb just to expensive”

Simon sighed. Even when his family was not bankrupt, he could not be able to afford it, it not only he money it also needed connections to buy it, as it will disappear the moment it hits the market, all parties would snatch it away.

“My only hope is the Astral trials seven days later”

Even so the world was vastly different, but majority of the people were still ordinary people who finished collage and live a normal life.

So, Bharat still retained the college entrance examination system, and the Astral trials was a months before the college entrance examination.

If found to have talent for Astral skills their whole life will move in a trajectory that was dramatically different from before.

One would not need to take entrance exam, no need to study hard only to work away your life but would be directly be hired by an Astral agency, and would lead a completely different life.

“Simon, are you awake?”

As Simon was deep in his thought, someone called for him pushing the door open, wearing a school uniform, a girl with cute little face that he oddly felt too familiar walked in with bag of fruits.

Seeing whom Simon was shocked as his eyes were wide open!

“Simon, what’s the matter with you? Are you feeling anything wrong should I call the doctor?”

The cute little girl asked with concerned face.

“Nothing!”

Simon quickly shook his head, as his feeling were rather complicated,
