"Y-Yes sir right away!" Quickly getting up the man ran out of the room to do what he was told.
"Huuu. I will pay back this disgrace 100 fold. I hope you're ready if you knowingly laid your hands on my family."
.
"W-where am I?" The girl said, waking up in this new place. "The last thing I remember is being beaten by that man." She said, her body shaking remembering the pain, the looks of the on goers as if they were watching a show. It was horrible. "Hm?" Feeling a weight to the side of her she looked over to find a girl sleeping in a chair leaned onto the bed. "E-eek!" She said moving away from the person.
The girl waking up seemed drowsy as she yawned coming to her senses. "Oh you're awake! Are you okay, are you still in pain?" She said softly, her voice full of worry.
"W-who are you, are you going to hurt me too?" She asked, why was a human so close to her. They usually kept as much distance as possible.
"N-No, I stopped that trash who was hurting you and brought you here and my name Eve." She said frantically, She could truly tell she was worried, even if it was just a gut feeling.
"T-Thank you for saving me, my name is Hina, and I'm okay now, I feel like it at least. How long have I been asleep?"
"Hm, around two days." Eve said.
"W-what two days? D-Did you watch me that whole time?"
"Mhm, You don't need to worry though, I just wanted to make sure you were safe and okay. I was really worried when you weren't waking up."
"I-I'm very sorry." Hina said, trying her best to bow. "But can I ask? W-Why is a human helping someone like me. I'm a demi human after all."
"Oh, I guess I should properly Introduce myself. My name's Eve, and I'm not some trash human like them. I'm a demon." She said standing up with a bow.
"A-A demon? As in the demons of legends. The only race that was stronger than humans and had a great war with them 200 years ago?!" Hina said with a shocked face. "I heard they eventually lost the war after other races went to help humans at the time in fear of their own safety if humans were to fall!"
"I'm not sure about the history of my race, but it's true that I'm a demon, you're not scared of me are you?"
"O-of course not, you saved me. How could I ever be scared of my savior." She said, holding her hands over her heart with a soft smile.
"I'm glad then. You seem very knowledgeable though. How do you know the history of the demon race?"
"O-oh, that's because my mother would tell me the story of the past when I was little...We weren't very well off but we were happy." She said fondly.
"I see, your mother must be wonderful."
"S-she was, She passed away a long time ago." She said, sadness in her voice.
"Oh I'm sorry." Eve said.
"It's okay. It was a long time ago. B-but Eve, why did you save me? Most people would've just moved on even if they weren't human out of fear for humans."
"Because I'm strong." Eve said with a big smile.
This made Hina laugh, she hasn't known Eve for long. But she felt warm, someone was so kind to her for the first time in so long. It made her happy.
"What do you plan to do now Hina?"
"I-I'm not sure. I don't want to go back to living like a beggar on the streets that humans watch for their own enjoyment. But that's the only place I can go back to."
"Would you...would you like to come with me? I'm not forcing you, but I don't think this place is safe for any demi or non-humans."
"C-Come with you?! I-I'm sorry, I don't think I can, I have a younger brother I need to care for, and I don't want to b-become baggage for you." She said, lowering her head.
"I think that's even more reason, you can bring your brother, and I'll make sure neither of you have to be in danger again. It hurt me seeing how you were treated that day. I don't want to see anyone suffering like that."
"I-if we come with you, can you promise that my brother will never have to go through this lifestyle again. Can he live a life without worry of humans hitting him?" Hina said, her tone was serious.
"I can tell how deeply you care for your brother." Eve said, smiling. "I promise that no human or monster will hurt you or your brother. I plan on making a place where all demi and non humans can live free from human reins, and seeing how that man treated you, only solidified my thoughts. Will you help me in making a place like that come to reality." Eve said, holding on to her hand.

Eve's hands felt so warm to Hina who had been treated with so much hatred and coldness. She could see just from Eve's eyes that she was serious about what she said, she felt if she put trust in her, it could truly become more than a fantasy.
"I'll put my trust in you. I want to live in a place like you described." Hina said smiling
"Thank you, and look who said that without stuttering." Eve said, rubbing her hair.
"O-oh did I? hehe."
"So warm." Hina thought to herself.
"Why don't we go get your brother then?"
"M-mhm, let- *Grumble* Hina was cut off by her stomach making a loud audible grumbling. Her face became a bright red.
"We can get food on the way." Eve said, chuckling.
Hina silently nodded.
.
Leaving the inn Eve put a cloak on Hina to hide her ears. The sky gray and cloudy overhead like it could rain any minute. "Just go to where your brother is and I'll follow, and afterwards I'll buy something for the both of you to eat." Eve said, smiling.
After a while of walking they arrived at their destination. The slums, while walking through them, were constantly watched. People in alleys and in run down houses all watched as they walked. Eventually reaching a very run down house far away from others, broken windows, and walls, barely able to be called a wall.
"Ian! Are you there!" Hina yelled outside the house, pulling her hood down.
"Hinaaaa!" A young boy came running out, grabbing onto her. "Where have you been? I was so scared!" The boy said sobbing.
Hina had a saddened look on her face. "I'm so sorry Ian, I'm so sorry I wasn't here." Hina said, getting onto her knees hugging her brother.
After a while of crying they separated. "Ian, I want to introduce you to the person who saved me." She said looking at Eve "This is Eve, she helped me when I had gotten really hurt. I'm able to be here right now because of her."
Ian quickly hid behind Hina when he saw a human but peaked out the side. "But that's a human Hina, they can't be trusted. She probably helped you for bad reasons." Ian said with a distrustful look in his eyes.
"Lets go inside so we can talk. I'll explain everything." Walking inside they sat down, Ian staying close to Hina. "Alright, since we're alone I'll explain everything."
.
"A demon, that's so cool!" Ian said at Eve's legs, his eyes sparkling.
"You have an adorable little brother." Eve said as she ruffled his hair.
"Mhm, It's just been us for a long time, he's made me able to get through a lot of things in my life." Hina said fondly.
"I wish I had someone like that, I've been alone for a while. But now It looks like I've met some people I can call friends." Eve said with a wide smile. "Let's go get something to eat, I'm sure you're both hungry enough." Eve said standing up. She had a warm feeling going through her. "Friends huh."
.
As they walked through the city street a smell started to waft through the air, as they walked closer they found a food shop cooking meat kebabs. "Do you want some?" Eve said, looking over at both of them.
They quickly nodded in unison. Eve chuckled and went inside with the both of them. "I'll buy 6."
A man behind the counter nodded and handed them over. "That'll be 14 copper coins."
Eve handed them over and walked back to them, handing them two each. "Here you go eat up."
Looking outside it had begun to rain, a sprinkle slowly turning into a light pour. "Luckily I have some extra cloaks."
Sitting at a table as they ate she quickly noticed many people in the street watching them. Some in alleys others blending into the crowds of people on the busy street. As people tried to get out of the rain. Not reacting as to not alert the watchers or scare Hina or Ian she kept eating calmly.
When they finished eating they left the shop and they began walking away before they were quickly stopped. A man came walking forward looking directly at Eve. "In the name of the Viscount for the crime of hurting the young lord, you are under arrest. It was very hard to find you Eve." The man said, smiling as they were surrounded by knights.
Eve looked back at Hina and Ian who were visibly shaken. Their fear of humans ran deeper than Eve had expected. "Ian, Hina, I need the both of you to close your eyes. No matter what you hear, or how worried you get, keep them closed until I tell you to open them alright?"
They both nodded and closed their eyes as Hina crouched down and held onto her brother. "Be careful Eve, you have to take us to the place where we don't have to worry about getting hurt anymore remember."
Eve nodded as she looked at all the knights. One of them began to walk over to her, reaching out to grab her. "Are you guys really scared of some tiny girl? I'll get her quickly then we can go get drinks." The man laughed to the other knights. Then everything around him started spinning.
"What?"
In an instant she had drawn her sword, cutting off the man's head. None of the other soldiers were even able to see the attack happen. They all stood for a second shocked at what they had just witnessed before she taunted them.
"Is that all, I guess this tiny girl expected too much of lousy knights."
The taunt quickly worked well as they all rushed at her their swords drawn.
"Heavenly demon sword style, first form." Getting into a stance all the knights paused as she began to exude an eerie aura. An almost demonic energy. Using the small opening Eve quickly sliced them in half. Without skipping a beat going onto the next knight not giving them the slightest chance to fight back.
.
"Huuuuu, huuuuu." Eve stood breathing heavily in front of all the knight's bodies, a heavy rain pouring down on her as if the sky were crying for the lost lives of the knights.
Walking back over to Hina and Ian who had gown drenched from the rain she hugged them tightly. "Don't open your eyes just yet. You shouldn't see something like this." She said to both of them. Guiding them to the inn they were staying with their eyes closed as they went back into the room. "You can open them now." Eve said, flopping back onto the bed. The room was silent except for the sounds of the lighting and thunder just outside. "We'll depart tomorrow when the rain hopefully stops or at least gets lighter." She said softly to the both of them as she laid her arm on her face.
“Are you okay?” Hina asked. “You may have not gotten hurt but I feel something did happen. Just tell me if so, we’re friends, remember.” She said, smiling softly at Eve.
“Hehe, thanks. I just need a bit of sleep for now, you should both get some sleep soon too.”
They both nodded and went to the other bed talking quietly to each other as to not disturb her.
Eve herself slowly began to fall asleep on the soft bed. Exhausted from the long fight.
