Synopsis
Devoting her life to the goddess of the dawn is a far better option for orphan Mara than marrying an odious farmhand. But, after taking her oath, a third option arises, in the form of a ship on the horizon.
A long fascination with piracy makes adventure on the high seas tempting, but at what cost? She’s told breaking her oath will anger her goddess, but of course the High Priestess would say such things.
Giving in to temptation, she stows away aboard the vessel that plagues her mind, and soon realises that perhaps she was right all along. She has angered Goddess Ansha, and now she is coming for her, and you can’t outrun the dawn - but you can hide from it. Finding solace in the darkness, it soon infects her heart and soul as she does whatever it takes to survive in the harsh world full of sea monsters and awful men.
