Adapting to the new life

Adapting to the new life

Cold wind blew by as the snow covered everything with a white blanket. As the first ray of light tore through the dark curtains of the night, dawn approached. Accompanied by the melodies of birds and the wistels of wind.

In a small house , inside a room, beside a warm fire burning within a stove, sat a beautiful woman. Her eyes were filled with nothing but kindness and love. She was holding a baby in her embrace. This baby was none other then James.

It has been a month since James arrived in this world. As an infant, there was nothing much he did during this time. Other then having conversations with Vinox , by which, finding out more about this world and his family there really wasn't anything else to do.

Through these conversations, James learned quite a bit about this world. According to Vinox , this world was divided into millions of continents. Each continent having a size much greater then that of earth. If one were to travel from one end of this world to the other by normal means, it would require atleast 100 lifetimes to do so. Vinox also mentioned that in this world exist not only humans but monsters, demonic beings, magical beasts, deities and even Gods. As he was given four choices before his reincarnation, he had a rough idea that this would be the case. What surprised James was the presence of magic in this world.

Vinox explained magic as the essence of everything and everyone present in the world of God's Hand. The atmosphere of this world contained a magical power called "The essence of Heaven and Earth". Every living being needed this essence to grow. Some living beings including humans, beasts, demons and even some plants absorbed this energy to cultivate and become stronger, ultimately reaching such heights which a normal human can never hope to achive. In short, this essence was the lifeline of this world of God's Hand.

James was also informed about the continent on which he was resurrected. This continent was located in the far east and was known as Ampheria. Contained within it were many kingdoms which belonged to many nations. Each kingdom was composed of many urban cities and rural communities. The kingdom was ruled by an Emperor, directly under the Emperor were 7 or more kings. These kings governed the major cities and were to only answer to the Emperor. Aside from this, each king had his own clan, these clans claimed the major cities as their respective territories.

The kingdom of Ampheria had 7 main clans and hundreds of low tier clans. The 7 main clans were ranked based on their level of power and influence throughout the kingdom of Ampheria.

These 7 main clans were

Ranked 1st: The sword Clan.

This clan specialized in the way of sword. Every member of the Sword clan was at the least an expert. They possessed the ability to become one with the sowrd, having speed and power none could rival in the kingdom.

Ranked 2nd: The Beast Clan.

Unlike the sword clan, every member of this clan was the descendent of the four ancestral divine beasts. (The behemoth, The Phoenix, The Dragon and The Roc). They possessed the ability to shape shift. Meaning they could transform into a human whenever needed. Their strength and bloodline abilities were well know throughout the kingdom.

Ranked 3rd: The Star Clan.

Unlike any other clan, the star clan consisted mostly of teachers. As there were many creatures in this world far stronger then humans, The humams of this world relied on cultivation to make up for their lack of strength as compared to any other superior race. To guide the young generation , this clan constructed institutes and academics.

Ranked 4th: The Apothecary Clan.

The apothecary clan was not specifically related to strength, rather it specialized in medicine. Whether it was regarding wounds and diseases or helping a cultivator to advance, the apothecary clan produced pills and elixirs for such scenarios. As the pills and potions produced by the apothecary clan were every citizen's need, this clan controlled almost half of the economy of the Ampheria kingdom.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

Ranked 5th: The Iron Clan:

Like the apothecary clan, this clan was also not specifically related to strength or fighting. The iron clan was responsible for all the weaponry needed for wars or for other cultivators. This clan consisted mostly of blacksmiths.

Ranked 6th: The War Clan.

The war clan, as the name suggests, was known for it's war tactics. Their strength and strategies in wars were unmatched. Members of the war clan specialized in a number of skills, such as sword skills, saber, spear and all kinds of weapon skills. The war clan fought countless wars for generations.

Ranked 7th: The Moon Clan.

The moon clan consisted of all the low tier clans. As the low tier clans relied heavily on the support and protection of the moon clan, they compensated these by paying the moon clan with gold or other means such as medicinal herbs and such.

James was quite surprised and stunned by all this information. He was also confused as to how Vinox knew about all these things. When he tried asking Vinox about it, he only got the answer [I am a system created by Sovereign Arthur. Placed inside the stone of creation].

James had his own thoughts on the origin of Vinox. He suspected that some great expert who used to belong to this world of God's Hand managed to become a God. As he had seen the description [Possibility to become a God] under the "Human" option when he was given four choices to choose from. And that God, most likely to be "Sovereign Arthur" , travelled to earth and somehow accidentally dropped the stone of creation. Although it sounded illogical but there was no other explination he could think of.

James was determined on one thing from the beginning , that he would stand at the very top of this world. And for that he needed to cultivate and become much stronger.

Days passed quickly, then days turned into months and months into years. Six years passed by in the blink of an eye. It was late in the evening. Sounds of spears clashing togather could be heard comming from the courtyard. James would spend most of his time training spear arts with a knight , this knight was entrusted by the task to train James in spear arts by his father. Although James was just six years old, and following common sense, he shouldn't be training. But in this world it was common for six years old to start training. Two hour later the training came to an end.

Lifting his head he wiped off the sweat from his forehead and said in a low voice.

"Vinox, show me my stats"

Vinox established a statistical system to measure and record James's body stats. The units for these stats were decided by james. Having 1 in strength meant he had the strength equivalent to that of 1 human . Such was the case for all the other stats.

He had learned three different skills so far. The power of each skill would increase depending on the degree of his comprehension in that particular skill.

"Well, i guess i should take a bath before going to bed" he thought.

He spent most of his time training and cultivating these skills as well as strengthening his body. Vinox provided him with the easiest and most effective method to learn and practice a skill by analysing the technique. This made his progress much faster as compared to any other cultivator of his age. Because of his speed of advancement , he was known as a prodigy of the war clan.

Slowly but surely, james was adapting to his new life style.
