Chapter 59: Emilia vs Albatross

Chapter 59: Emilia vs Albatross

Garuda arc

Horus: Tenjin's Flag Ship

Roof

Julia was in the drawing sword position. Charging up an immense amount of mana so that she could defend the ship. While Ziera sent tons of holograms and drones to defend her.

Julia needed just 20 seconds to unleash her spell but both the giants and garuda were relentless.

Ziera shot down another garuda but one of the shot her in the back with a lightning arrow.

"Agh! Soon of a-!" Ziera cursed. She turned around and shot the garuda in the face with a stun beam.

Ziera was starting to feel overwhelmed. It's not that she was low on mana. She was a cyborg created by Zenal. So her mana efficiency could last weeks as long as she didn't spam tons of big attacks like with her bazooka.

But there were still hundreds of garuda attacking the ship. Along with the many giants on the ground trying to break through the ice wall. Not to mention it was down to two of them to defend the ship. It wasn't looking good but she had to keep going and not let her ascension get out of control again.

"Capture the princess and kill the dragon-kin! Once they are gone the ship will be ours!" One of the garuda soldiers shouted. More of them flew towards Ziera and Julia with bows aimed at the ready.

Until Ziera detected someone flying to the ship at an insane speed. Ziera smiled. She flew up and reconfigured both her arms into omni-cannons.

"Jayden! Maneuver #6 now!" Ziera ordered.

"You got it!" Jayden responded as he arrived with both of his arms also reconfigured into omni-cannons.

Both aimed at the 20 garuda flying down towards Julia and fired. Their beams hit each other and combined to create one huge explosion. Taking down dozens of Garuda at once. One of the garuda soldiers was shocked to see Jayden was back.

"The Ragnarok wielder!? Does that mean this boy defeated Sef!?" The garuda asked.

"JULIA ARE YOU READY!?" Ziera shouted.

"YES! GET BACK!" Julia shouted back.

Jayden and Ziera both did what she had asked and flew down to the roof of the ship. The garuda didn't know what was going on but felt an immense amount of mana coming from Julia.

It was terrifying to them.

"That dragon-kin woman! She's planning something! Stop her!"

Julia slowly began unsheathing her blade. Light blue mana and ice particles began emitting from not only her katana but even her entire body. Ice began to form under Julia's feet as her body kept glowing until she finally transformed into the second stage of her dragonification. The one she used against Ziera when she nearly ascended.

Dark blue scales grew on her face and formed into a mouth mask. The mouth mask was dark blue and it had an open mouth showing off its sharp silver fangs. The scales formed on Julia's arms giving her large blue samurai-like shoulder pads along with a large blue chest plate with her empire's insignia at the center.

Julia's dark blue wings grew much bigger than before, her fingernails turned into dragon claws, and dark blue dragon horns grew on her head. When she opened her clouded eyes they glowed blue.

"Ice-Dragonification Stage 2: The Shogun!"

"I can't believe this! She's as strong as General Albatross!" A garuda soldier shouted.

"No! She and that red headed dragon-kin are far stronger! This mana is unlike any other I've felt!" Another garuda said.

'HURRY! KILL HER!" Another garuda shouted.

"Winter's wrath is upon all of you. Repent while you still can." Julia said in a deadly tone. JUlia unsheathed her blade and a blinding blue light shined over the roof of the ship.

"Moon Dragon's Sacred Technique: Cavern of Lost Souls!"

When the spell was unleashed everyone stopped in their tracks. Jayden, Ziera, the garuda and even the giants. Everyone stopped in fear of what Julia had just unleashed upon all of them.

But nothing happened. Julia had unsheathed her blade and nothing came of it.

Everyone was shocked to see this. They expected a grand spell of some kind but nothing happened. Julia then slowly began sheathing her blade. One of the giants assumed that meant the spell didn't work and that it was over. So he and the other giants began laughing.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! SEE! SEE! WHAT DID I TELL YA! DRAGON-KIN ARE OVERRATED! HAHAHA! DRAGON-KIN AREN'T SHI-!"

Julia sheathed her blade. In an instant, the laughing giant's face froze and disintegrated into ice particles.

BOOM!

An enormous explosion of ice formed around the entire warship. Knocking and most of the giants back and blowing away the garuda and even freezing some of them. Tenjin ordered her not to kill the garuda so they were spared. The giants were not as fortunate.

While the garuda were being pushed back and forced to carry some of their frozen comrades away, a ginormous ice cavern formed around the entire ship. Shielding them from both the garuda and the giants.

Julia took a deep breath and exhaled. Showing her cold breath. She transformed back to normal and walked to her comrades.

"It is finished." Julia said.

Both Jayden and Ziera had their jaws on their floor. Awestruck at the sheer power that Julia had displayed in front of them.

Thank the Guardians she's our on side. Ziera thought.

What she did to me in our fight was nothing compared to this. If she were our enemy back then, everyone but Tenjin would have been sick feet under. Jayden thought.

Ziera shook her head and got her senses back together.

"Thank you Julia. And Jayden. Good work with taking down Sef. I knew you could do it." Ziera said with a bright smile.

"Indeed. You had a rough start but you are now truly becoming a warrior. Well done." Julia said with a smile of her own. Jayden smiled back at both of them.

"Thanks. That means a lot you guys. Seriously." Jayden rubbed the back of his head in shyness.

"By the way, that speech you made about Emilia. She's probably embarrassed herself right now." Ziera teased as she elbowed him.

"Wait! She heard that!?" Jayden asked out of shock.

"We all did. You had your communicator on by mistake right when you started screaming "never give up." Julia said.

Jayden covered his face in embarrassment and shame.

"Ugh! All of you guys heard that!?" Jayden groaned.

"There is no need to feel embarrassed. I thought it was awe inspiring." Julia said.

"Really?" Jayden asked with hope in his eyes.

"Well....for you at least." Julia said plainly.

"THAT'S COLD!" Jayden cried.

"Hey I thought it was cool. It's a dorky sort of way but hey nobody's perfect." Ziera said as she pat his back.

"I don't know if that makes me feel better or worse." Jayden groaned.

Ziera and Julia giggled at him. It was nice to have some levity in a situation like this. After they quieted down, Ziera went back to being serious and looked at Julia.

"Now Julia. I have a question. How tough is this ice cavern of yours?" Ziera asked.

"It can withstand a few shots from an imperial warship's cannons but not too many." Julia explained.

"Okay. I'm sorry to ask so much of both of you but can you two make some holes for the cannons to fire? I'm going to pinpoint the garuda's exact movements and have the cannons target them when they are off their guard." Ziera explained.

"It is of no trouble. But what about the giants?" Julia asked.

"After that display they wouldn't be stupid enough to attack again so quickly. If they do I'll have the cannons deal with them. For now we'll focus our attention on the garuda. That understood? Ziera asked both Jayden and Julia.

They both nodded.

"Good then let's get to it!" Ziera ordered.

We can win this! Now we just need Albatross to be taken down! Emilia. I know you can do this. You may have trouble believing in yourself but for the past three years since we've met....

You are....

A few minutes after Ryoka had saved Emilia and carried her in her arms, Henro and Tenjin were still on the ground witnessing the whole thing. Henro took a breath of relief.

"About time that crazy woman got here. Hey Tenjin, you still alive over there?" Henro asked.

"Yeah. Don't worry about me kid. [Cough]. [Cough]. I'm not done yet." Tenjin said weakly.

"Good. Be real shitty of you to die right before Emilia kicks the shit out of this loser." Henro said. Tenjin laughed weakly.

"I'm surprised. You were always so [cough] [cough] overprotective of her. You would always complain about it but [cough] you would never let her out of your sight for a second." Tenjin said. Henro narrowed his eyes at Tenjin but turned his head to look up at her.

"Yeah well, I know she can take care of herself. I always knew that. It's just...".

"GET AWAY FROM MY SON!" Henro's mother, Mary shouted.

"I just wanted to protect you!" Emilia shouted.

I can't. I can't let her down again. I can't let either of them down. And yet..... Henro thought.

Henro thought back to all the times he failed to help Emilia against the draugr. To failing to help the others against the dragons. And failing to heal Tenjin. His entire role on the team.

Yet he failed. And Emilia almost died if it weren't for Ryoka.

If I had just done my damn job Emilia wouldn't have gotten-!

Henro thought back to Emilia getting brutalized by Albatross. He was beyond furious. Henro wanted nothing more than to kill Albatross for putting his hands on Emilia like that. But he couldn't even stand.

Is this what Emilia has been feeling all this time? I hate this! Why is my body failing me!? Why am I so weak!? Henro thought to himself.

Out of nowhere, Henro felt someone sit on his back and roughly tug on both of his pointy ears.

"AGH! WHAT THE!?" Henro shouted in pain.

"Hey Akumera! I said your queen has arrived to save you! Praise me or face the consequences!" Ryoka yelled out.

"GAH! GET THE FUCK OFF ME HIPPO!" Henro roared. Ryoka pulled on his ears harder which made Henro yell in pain louder.

"Say that again and I'll have your tongue worm!" Ryoka shouted.

"Knock it off. Both of you. [Cough]. [Cough]. Ryoka, thank you. We would have been in trouble if you hadn't shown up. I'm in your debt." Tenjin said.

Ryoka stopped pulling on Henro's ears. Pleased by what Tenjin said, she got off Henro, placed her hands on her hips and smiled proudly.

"Hmph. Well at least someone acknowledges my efforts. Still I gotta say I'm disappointed in you Tenjin.m How could you lose to a nobody like that?" Ryoka asked.

"Sorry. He...[cough] caught me off guard. I didn't expect [cough] Circe the vermillion witch to back him in this battle." Tenjin said weakly.

"CIRCE!?" Ryoka and Henro shouted at the same time.

"But that doesn't make any sense! Why would the machina empire help King Ogun and Albatross attack us!?" Henro questioned.

"I agree. I don't think they are helping Tross or King Ogun. I think the empire has their own agenda here." Tenjin said.

"Like what? To have us weaken King Ogun's forces?" Henro asked.

"Maybe. But I think there's more to it than that. Either way. We won't know until we question Tross. But for now, Ryoka, I need you to warn Emilia. Circe not only granted Tross regeneration but also deadly parasitic yokai that eat away at mana. Tross has no honor. He will definitely use that trick again if he's desperate." Tenjin said.

"Sure. HEY EMILIA! THE CRAZY BITCH CIRCE IS BACKING THE MAGGOT YOU'RE FIGHTING. KICK HIS ASS BEFORE HE COUGHS ON YOU! That work?" Ryoka asked.

"GOTCHA! THANKS!" Emilia shouted from above.

"Well...that's one way to do it. You are a strange girl." Tenjin said.

"Yeah. Like who are you to call someone else crazy?" Henro asked.

The Fenrir: Fury's Imperial Flagship

Circe's Bedroom

From across the halls of the west wing of Fury's warship, guards could hear the wicked cackling of the vermillion witch from her bedroom.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What an amusing woman she is. I can see why Aurora has so much interest in her. And that boy! Jayden was it? That's one way to use ragnarok ahaha! I must say, I expected as much from Ziera but the rest of Emilia's little friends are more interesting than I thought they would be! Hahahahaha!" Circe cackled wickedly.

"Sigh. And especially far more entertaining than most of the sorry lot on this ship. Oh but not you Garō. You're fun." Circe said as she drank from her tea cup.

"Gee thanks. Can I take this fucking mask off me now?" Garō asked impatiently.

When Garō had awoken, he had noticed the creepy smiling mask on his face. He tried to take it off but he could not. It did not feel like it was merely glued to his face. It felt like it was literally part of his face.

"Language! And no. That mask is a magic item that was made to help you focus your mind." Circe said.

"Focus my mind? What does that even mean?" Garō asked.

"That mask is called "Mnemosyne." The mask of lost memories. To put it in simple terms, it helps you focus your mind and recall memories you've lost. I realized you needed this after Fury had finished ripping you apart. Your soul showed me that brutalizing you brought back bad memories of your time with Silas." Circe explained.

"Heh. Well that's what happens when a psychotic overgrown beast starts tearing into you and spilling your guts all over the floor like the good doctor did. But how does this help me?" Garō replied as if stating the obvious.

"Because my dear those panic attacks will be a hindrance to you in battle if you don't get them under control. I originally wanted to put you under hypnosis and have you confront them in your dreams but your soul is fragile. Too much distress and it will tear itself apart again and you'll-."

"Lose this form again?" Garō asked.

"Worse. So we are going to take baby steps towards your recovery. I'll ask Fury to restrain himself and every night you will work with me on healing your mind." Circe said cheerfully.

"What good does any of that do me if my soul is...fragile!? You said...you would restore my soul. And help me get revenge." Garō said angrily.

"And I will. I told you I am a woman of my word. But you have to be patient. I may be a witch but I can't just snap my fingers and solve all your problems at the drop of a hat. Besides, fortune favors the bold and those patient enough to claim it. And I have been patiently waiting to claim mine for over 900 years." Circe said with an evil smile as she looked back at Emilia through the magic floating mirror.

***

Emilia and Albatross hovered midair with a good distance between them. Emilia had heard what Jayden had said about her on the coms. And the fact that he beat Sef on his own. Emilia smiled and placed a hand on her chest. She couldn't be more proud of him.

Jayden not only defeated a skilled warrior but also even recognized Emilia's worth like the others did when she couldn't recognize it herself.

Jayden. Thank you. I'm not worthy of your praise. You are the one who's done so much for me. I promise I won't let you down. Emilia thought.

Emilia looked back at Tross with a look of confidence. Albatross looked confident but on the inside he was confused because Emilia's demeanor was throwing him off. Her expression wasn't an act or mere arrogance, she was actually determined to win.

After Ryoka had saved Emilia, she took a look at Albatross with her garuda sight and noticed something. The wound on his right waste was healing but it was healing slower than that of his other injuries. In fact, she noticed that the tiny flesh wound was still there on his waist.

I knew it. The wound on his waist is still there. Although it's small, it hasn't fully recovered. Which means his regeneration isn't limitless like Henro's. I may not know why Circe granted him such power, but I do know this. If I keep pouring him on with attacks at that exact spot, he will fall. Emilia thought.

Albatross noticed Emilia staring at him as if she was reading him. It made him more nervous.

I don't get it. A few minutes ago all she did was kick, scream and give up like the spoiled princess I know. But now it's like she's a completely different person. Did Ryoka Pendragon really restore her confidence?

Albatross began feeling nervous. He tried not to show it, but that look Emilia gave was a familiar one. The same one that belonged to her late father. To his former king. Albatross quickly spat at this notion.

"So what now false princess? Will you really fight me on your own? Have you already forgotten what happened a few minutes ago?" Albatross asked.

"No. I haven't. And neither have you." Emilia said.

Albatross felt his chest itch. Even though he had healed his wounds, he could still remember the feeling of getting slashed by Emilia. She had caught him off guard and it infuriated him. Albatross grit his teeth in pure anger and spite.

"Hear me now Albatross. You stand guilty of treason against your former king. Edwin Sylphion. So I, Princess Emilia of House Sylphion. First of my name and heir to the throne of the kingdom of Ventus challenge you to a one on one duel. If you win, my life is forfeit. But if I win, you and your rebel army will surrender and we will settle this matter peacefully." Emilia said.

"Peacefully? Ha! Such simple mindedness. Making peace with your enemies? Let me tell you something girl, you don't make peace with your enemies, you crush them beneath your feet. Has your false king not taught you that before I carved his heart from his chest? Admit it girl, you don't care about peace. You want revenge. Don't you?" Albatross asked.

Emilia's anger began to rise again but she took deep breaths. She couldn't let Albatross throw her off again. She had to remain in control.

"My father taught me a lot of things. A lot of which I often ignored and took for granted. But out of all his teachings there is but one lesson that has stuck by me all these years. Whether you are a garuda or avian it does not matter. We are all guardians of the skies. We are all family. And when we dance, it is not a sign of fear or bloodshed. It is a symbol of freedom."

"Freedom is what I fight for. What my friends fight for. And that is why we still stop you here and now. And bring you to justice." Emilia said with a serious expression. Fire beaming in her eyes.

"Really? Very well. If you are so eager to die then I accept your challenge." Albatross said as he unsheathed his blade and got ready. Emilia charged up her lightning arrow and aimed it at him.

***

Emilia vs Albatross

It has finally begun. The true dance between two warriors of Ventus. The traitor Albatross, and the princess Emilia Sylphion.

Everyone who was there watched. Henro, Ryoka, Tenjin and both Circe and Garō from afar.

Outside of Garō, everyone else had a stake in this battle. To see once and for all of what Emilia is truly capable of and what kind of warrior she will become once she's defeated her hated foe.

As for Emilia herself, her feelings were chaotic. She was angry at Tross, angry at herself, scared of losing, scared of letting everyone down, happy that Ryoka brought back her confidence, happy that her other friends were there for her, but most of all Emilia felt pride.

Pride as a warrior and pride to be fighting alongside people she loved and admired.

Tenjin. Henro. Ziera. Jayden. Ryoka. Julia. Mother. Father. Please watch me. Emilia thought.

And just like that....the dance had begun.

Albatross flew toward Emilia at incredible speed. Emilia fired her lightning arrow at him. Albatross readied his blade to absorb the attack but the lightning arrow exploded mid air to Albatross' surprise.

A fake out? Albatross thought.

Suddenly, Emilia flew under him and had four lighting arrows at the ready aimed directly under him. Emilia released the arrows and the arrows released lightning strings that connected to each other to form a giant lightning net.

"Garuda Style: Lightning Net!"

Albatross looked down and scoffed at this attack.

"Is that all? Pathetic!" Albatross said.

Albatross aimed his blade at the net to absorb the attack. But suddenly, Emilia flew through the lightning net and kneed Albatross right under his chin.

While Albatross was stunned, Emilia wrapped her thighs around his neck, propelled herself back with her wings, flipped backwards over, and over, and over, and over and over and over and over again until she threw Tross through a nearby pillar.

"AGH!" Albatross cried out in pain.

"YEAH! Kick his sorry ass Em!" Ryoka cheered.

"Of course she will. Who do you think she is?" Henro asked as he grinned up at Emilia proudly.

Tenjin was in awe.

Emilia. Tenjin thought.

Circe while watching from her room on Fury's warship had a big grin on her face.

Emilia conjured back her wind bow and lightning arrow and aimed at the ready toward where Albatross fell.

Albatross should have seen that attack coming. Maybe my theory is correct? Let's see.

Albatross flew up from the smoke of the rubble toward Emilia.

"Garuda Style: Piercing Storm!" Emilia shot her lightning arrow and it split into 20 lightning arrows and flew down toward Albatross.

"Garuda Style: Vortex Whirlwind!" Albatross swung his black blade and released a giant tornado that absorbed Emilia's incoming arrows.

Emilia flew around the whirlwind and aimed her bow at Albatross. She fired three more lightning arrows at him.

"Garuda Style: Vortex Slash!" Albatross swung his blade and released a powerful slash attack that absorbed her arrows.

However, after it absorbed the mana off her lightning arrows, something came out from one of her arrows and pierced Tross in the scarred wound on his side. It was Emilia's dagger.

HER DAGGER!? Albatross thought.

"Holy shit! She fooled him!" Ryoka shouted.

"Albatross focused you so much on absorbing her attacks that he didn't bother to notice her dagger was hidden inside it. That's always been a weakness of his. He is overly reliant on his magic. Emilia tok advantage of that by coating one of her daggers with the shape of her lightning arrow and then fired it."

"And after he absorbed the mana off it, she used wind magic to propel it forward and pierce his wound. And she timed it so perfectly." Tenjin explained.

"THAT'S INCREDIBLE! Wow Emilia is a real badass!" Ryoka shouted with excitement. She even blushed a little as she saw Emilia fight.

It is incredible. But still, Tross should be fighting better than this. He should have still seen most of her attacks coming and dodged them. Unless.. Tenjin pondered.

Back in the fight, Emilia used her wind to bring her fallen dagger back to her. Albatross was still in shock. He couldn't believe that she was managing to land an attack on him not once, not twice or even three but four times so far.

Emilia didn't let up and flew towards him with both her daggers. Albatross was now furious.

"YOU LITTLE BITCH! I'LL PUT YOU IN YOUR PLACE!" Albatross shouted as he clashed his blade with her daggers.

Albatross shoved her back. Before she could dodge he kicked her square in the stomach.

"AGH!" Emilia coughed up blood and was sent flying through a stone pillar.

Emilia grunted in pain but she fought through the pain and recovered mid flight. But Albatross wasn't done. He dove down towards her and they crossed swords once again.

Emilia was on the defense. Striking against Albatross' blade with both her daggers as fast as she could. Albatross sung at her face and Emilia her head ducked back while mid-flight.

Albatross swung his blade down at her but she grabbed a hold of his blade with her daggers and pushed it back to the side. Emilia then swung at Albatross but he dodged, grabbed a hold of her arm, pulled her forward and backhanded her face. Tross then grabbed her by the throat and took her down on top of a large and wide rocky pillar.

"AGHH!" Emilia cried out and dropped one of her daggers from her right hand.

While Albatross mounted her he tried to stab her face with his sword but Emilia used her wind magic to throw dirt in his eyes and blind him. This threw his attack off balance and allowed Emilia to knock it out of his hand with her dagger.

Before Emilia could stab him Tross the dagger on her left hand he pinned her wrist to the ground with one hand and used his other to both smack and backhand and Emilia across the face. Leaving bruises on her face. Tross then grabbed Emilia's throat and strangled her.

"You little shit!" Albatross yelled out. He had the face of a mad man. Pure anger and madness as he crushed EMilia's windpipe.

Emilia gasped for air and struggled to get Albatross off of her. She tried to use her wings to propel herself up but Tross slammed her head back onto the pillar. Tross' hand squeezed harder on Emilia's neck. Emilia was losing air quickly and her vision started getting blurry.

She decided to try something else. Emilia used her wind magic to move her other fallen dagger and aimed it at Tross. Tross saw it coming and released his hold on Emilia's throat to grab it.

Emilia gasped for air and took this moment to imbue her fingers with wind and lightning magic and stabbed Tross in the scarred wound on the right side of his waist again. Her fingers went literally dug deep into it.

"GAH!" Albatross cried out. He was about to stab her with her own dagger.

But Emilia wasn't done. She increased the electricity on her hand and electrocuted Albatross from the side of his body with an intense amount of voltage.

"GAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!" Albatross screamed in agony as lightning was shown coming out of his mouth. The voltage was so high inside his wound that it was causing internal burns inside his entire body and was burning his organs from the inside. His wound was even bigger now. It went almost across half his waist.

This weakened his grip on Emilia's left hand allowing her to break free and push him off with a wind attack from both her hands. Albatross fell backwards and released her dagger.

Emilia jumped up and used wind to send the other dagger back into her hand. She embused her daggers with lightning and jumped forward to slash at him but Tross recovered in time and used wind to send his sword to him. He grabbed it and blocked her daggers.

They both struggled for a bit. Emilia was slowly overpowering him and was pushing his sword down on him with her daggers but Tross managed to push her off him.

He stood up and swung his sword at her. Emilia countered with the dagger on her left hand and pushed it back. She then swung at his neck with the dagger on her right hand but he grabbed onto her arm.

Tross was about to swing his sword at her but Emilia blocked with her dagger. She then imbued lightning magic into her leg to speed it up and kick Tross at his leg and trip him. She used her dagger on her left hand to push his sword back.

Then she followed it up by headbutting him. Then jumped and imbued her other leg with lightning and double kicked Albatross directly in the face with both her feet. Breaking his nose and electrocuting him. While Albatross staggered back, Emilia after kicking him backflipped, conjured her wind bow and lightning arrow mid air, aimed it directly at Albatross' wound and fired.

"Garuda Style: Piercing Storm!" Emilia fired multiple lightning arrows at Albatross' wound.

"AAGGGGGHHHHH!!" Albatross screamed in pure agony from the sharp winds cutting into his wound and the high intense voltage electrocuting him from the inside. Tross groaned as he took a knee and used his sword to keep himself up.

Both him and Emilia stopped fighting to catch their breaths. Emilia took a knee, covered her mouth with her hand and coughed up a lot of blood onto the ground. Her throat still hurts. Almost crushed by Albatross. She could barely talk and was lucky to even be breathing at all.

And she was running low on mana. If she didn't finish this fight soon she'd be dead. Luckily for her though, Emilia believed she could win. Emilia stood up straight and looked at Albatross. She turned on her communicator so that her friends could hear this.

"Albatross. Tell me, you're dying aren't you?" Emilia asked.

Albatross' eyes widened in shock. He didn't answer but his expression all but confirmed it to Emilia.

"I knew it. I knew it the moment I saw that the scar on your waist didn't heal. When we fought earlier, you were far faster than me. I could barely counter any of your attacks. The difference between us was night and day." Emilia said.

"But after you recovered from my attack on your chest, Ryoka managed to land an attack on you not once but twice. You were one of Ventus' best warriors so you should have easily dodged them. It made no sense to me at first. Even with your regeneration, why would you keep taking attacks from people you see weaker than yourself? Tenjin I understood but with Ryoka, it should have been a closer fight."

So a theory popped into my head. It wasn't that you didn't feel like dodging her attacks. It's because you couldn't dodge them. Nor could you dodge my attacks. Because everytime you heal, you are getting slower." Emilia explained.

Albatross now looked up at her with absolute anger and contempt. Shocked and furious that she figured it out.

Tenjjin and the others heard it tight. Henro looked surprised. Ryoka was excited. Tenjin looked disgusted.

Albatross you damn fool. Tenjin thought.

The Fenrir: Fury's Imperial Flagship

Circe's Bedroom

"HAHAHAHAHA! MARVELOUS! ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS!" Circe cheered. She kept fidgeting around on her seat and spilling her tea on the floor.

"Lady Circe. Please restrain yourself. You are getting tea all over your dress." Gitsune lectured.

"SHUSH! This is just getting good!" Circe waved him off.

Cut's back to Emilia talking to Albatross while he still recovers.

"I don't know what kind of deal you made with Circe or know how fully this power she gave you works, but I know that it's no coincidence that everytime you heal you get slower and heal less as time goes on. It sounds like a harsh deal but one you made so that you could survive one second against Tenjin. You knew this power would help you catch him off guard so you could spray those yokai on him."

"You took a major risk of taking all those attacks from him just to kill him. But when you faced me, you took me lightly and allowed me to land all those hits on you. And that was always your biggest downfall. Not your magic. Not your skills. Or even Circe herself. It was your own arrogance. And that's why you've lost." Emilia said as she pointed one of her daggers at Tross.

All the anger and contempt drained from Albatross' face.

"What?" Albatross asked anxiously.

"I.....lost? Me? Lose to a privilege, spoiled, ignorant and self righteous little bitch like you?" Albatross quivered.

Albatross slowly cracked a sad smile. He began to laugh as if he was deranged.

"Hehehehehe. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! LIKE I'LL ACCEPT THAT! There is no way I could ever lose to you! Someone who's never suffered discrimination nearly as much as the commoners she looks down on! You did nothing back then to help our kind and you've still done nothing now! I helped start the revolution to make a better future for our people and you judge me for it!? You're a hypocrite! A fraud! A self-serving piece of filth who doesn't care about anyone but herself!" Albatross roared.

Silence filled the air. Emilia wasn't angry or even happy to see albatross like did.

"Albatross. Are you talking about me or yourself?" Emilia asked with a look of genuine pity on her face.

Albatross gasped.

"It saddens me to hear you say that. But I understand because I-."

"That...saddens you? You dare pity me!? You're just like him! Just like your father!" Albatross spat.

Albatross had lost all sense. He was bug eyed, veins popping out on his head and spitting out of his mouth. He stared at Emilia crazily but what he saw was someone else.

"Albatross. That saddens me. Truly."

There he stood. He was a tall light skinned middle aged man. Slightly taller than Tenjin standing at 6 '5. He has long blonde hair going down to his waist. He looked very fit for his age, having muscular biceps.

He wore a long light green and black royal robe with black shoes and a dark blue shirt underneath. He had a golden necklace with the face of an eagle which was the symbol of the Garuda and avian tribes. And finally his golden crown with a golden bird with it's wings sticking out at the center.

This man was Emilia's father. The former King of Ventus and one of the first members of the Guardians of Esos.

Edwin Sylphion.
