I climbed out of the pit with a bit of effort but nothing my clawed hands can't handle. When did she dig this? I just hope she doesn't make too many of them, but with her intelect she definitely will. Fuck, I didn't even scratch her once and we're already at guerilla tactics?
"Fine, I'll play the waiting game."
There's no point at charging into an prepared opponent, that's the whole ploy of the rapier. Be patient or a fool.
But there's still the corpse.
I walked around the pit knowing she couldn't have dug one so close to this one.
The sensation of falling came back to me and found myself cursing. This time I felt something at the back of my mind but brushed it of.
I climbed out and threw the corpse in there.
"See this as a half assed burial, blame whoever dug this."
I take two steps, smak myself on the forehead and turn around. Leaving him in the pit will only do more damage.
I jumped down and felt the nugging at the back of my mind grow, I ignored it.
He was to heavy to be moved, so I had to make him lighter. I wasn't hungry but there's still some space in there.
What is this thing at the back of my mind anyways?
----------------------------------------
I knew that I would be the only survivor since even as a tamer my sense for danger was superb. I told them to see the hound as a threat, but they were so confident in their ability to flee.
Actually he should have been able to kill me that day. Did he spare me? Probably. But I can't let my guard down. He's been actively hunting me and I have been hunting him.
He's definitely a monster, his human shape doesn't mean anything and I'm gonna tame him. Taming is different from summoning since a tamed monster/beast has to be treated as an equall or you would just be a slaver.
I've been casting some mind fuckering at him but he mostly shrugs it off, not because he's smart enough to see through them but because he's as dense as a rock.
Thud
That was the fourth trap he fell into. They're not even covered that good, he should find an open spot in a field of crops. However that's a good sign. Low intelligence beings are easy to tame wchih boosts my morale but I still have to be cautious.
Taming a human shaped monster, I'll definitely get a chapter in the books for that. Fuck, a book about me might be written. There's definitely many advantages in Taming him.
He successfully managed to do a sword grab on the vanguard of that group which shows he has great reaction speed.
Not only does he have full controll over feral morph (something I struggle with) but also knows feral shift. An ability only given to those who had a lucky birth.
One of his forms is much larger than his standard form but I didn't get the chance to see his third form. The larger form is a massive hound of some kind, it's definitely a shepherd or guardian breed with how easily I could outrun him.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
I had hoped he would get trapped in one of the pits, it would fasten the Taming process by a lot. But I can't dig deeper without ending up trapping myself, besides, he climbs out meaning unless I use a stone pit it wouldn't work.
Thud
Seriously? Doesn't he- oh fuck. He does know they're traps, he's unnoticeably spreading his scent. But why does he want pitfalls to have his scent?
To have hiding spots from a larger threat.
He knows there are larger threats out there.
I held my breath as he passed by me, it's not the first time but still breath taking.
"Let me tell you a secret."
My heart sank.
He can't know that I'm here, right?
"The Taming process creates a bond that tells me where you are."
Oh FU-
----------------------------------------
The wery first thing a tamer is taught is to make sure that the beast/monster is subdued or kept at bay since the beast will know immediately who's taming them and do whatever they can to stop it.
That's the first thing I got to read when I did research on tamers on the seventh, guess she sucked at it.
"Let me tell you a secret."
A soft, no, a light and graceful voice came to my ears. How, there's no smell, no sound of footsteps, no shadow cast from the only light source.
I turned around to see.....no one.
The voice kept talking.
"There's a reason why humans don't have mana cores, it's the same reason why humans cannot be born for any sort of talent for combat."
The voice kept talking, ignoring my growing confusion.
"It's the God's, they made sure to keep humans at the bottom of society's in any possible way. And that's why you're the beginning of the end. With cores far more powerfull than the other races we will have an unmatchable advantage, we will rise to the top."
I start to see where this is going.....and I like it.
"Beast kin are actually a subspecies of humans considering it takes only two generations to turn a wolf kin to a full blood human and the same hoes the other direction."
"Touik a few tests will be held and then you will be unleashed onto this world of ours."
Then, out of darkness that wasn't there came the countess. A tall and graceful lady with pitch dark eyes that make the darkness she came from seem like a bright place and hair one would need four tounges to describe. I can't think of a singular word that could accurately describe her gorgeous beauty.
If I had a ring, I would kneel.
I kneeled anyways since she's the countess and down here more than a Queen.
"I will not repeat myself so pay attention, this is more than important."
I stayed frozen in place knowing how to properly act at her presence.
"Good, your director will tell you what to do."
She tested my reaction, seeing as though I accepted without complaints she was satisfied.
----------------------------------------
"So uhhh what do I do again?"
I asked the director half naked.
"You go and make more of you with her."
She gestured at the wolf kin with who I am currently sharing a cell.
"Yeah but...."
"But?"
"Why is she so big?"
The wolf kin in question towered over me and suddenly I don't feel so strong anymore, the worst part: I'm in my kangal form.
Her bone white hair and ice blue eyes had an ethereal beauty that couldn't be described.
"Well, you see we were overpopulated so we did a population cut and are now underpopulatet."
A simple answer to a simple question.
What's this scent now? It came from the wolf kin but its not something I'm familiar with....
----------------------------------------
I woke up groaning.
What's this? So heavy.
Oh yeah right I had to mate with her.
...What's with that face?
----------------------------------------
"How many times will we do this?"
"Once for every kind of animal category (in the facility)."
I paused for a moment.
"11 in total."
Not sure how accurate that is but ok.
----------------------------------------
Well at least they weren't as big as the first one, or so I thought until I was put in the same room as the cow woman.
At this point I suspect that they want to prove a point or something.
----------------------------------------
"Congratulations on surviving mating with the spider kin."
This was the first time I was genuinely scared for my life. It felt like my third leg would have fallen off any moment.
"This was the hardest part, right?"
We stopped infront of the cage of a mantis kin.
"Right?!"
----------------------------------------
She entered my cell slowly clapping.
"I'm gonna be honest, I didn't expect you to survive through all of them."
All? But those were only 10...
She started taking off her clothes.
"We're underpopulatet."
