Following the cobblestone road, he was not standing outside a shop with a hammer, anvil, and a crystal on a signboard over its door. Looking around, he sees two other stores, one with a sword and shield, and the next with a staff and some strange wiggly lines. Entering the first door, he jumps as the bell signaling his entry startled him. Looking around the store, he sees two tables one with a Lantern and the other with what looked like a disassembled lantern.
Looking at both, he quickly understood what he needed to do, the note showing a blueprint on how to assemble the lantern was a definite hint, but he could not understand this dungeon. First, it was getting past two men, and now it was assembling a lantern. Taking a seat, he started reading, his memories once again coming back to him. He had done something similar a thousand times before. He had been taking electrical engineering, and he remembered the hours both painfully and fondly. The hours where he was trying to figure something out, and then finally, when the realization hit, the euphoric experience, the joy, and finally telling and explaining it for someone else.
It was a mixture of runes and physical shapes, all in two dimensions. There were four runes; A circle with a small hole, a triangle with equal sides and with two holes, one in the middle a wall, and one straight across at the tip. Two lines are going parallel and a David-star with two lines out of its center fitting perfectly with the other runes, making them able to create different patterns. There were two red hexagon crystals with ends meeting at a single point. And two stands for holding a crystal, one fit perfectly on top of the circle and the other at the ends of the star. The first one was holding the crystal at sides and the other one only at its bottom tip.
The circle was where mana was drawn from, the star where it was released to something. The triangle was a limiter so as not to overwhelm both of the crystals, and lastly, the tubes where to fit in between the others. Connecting everything, as the blueprint stated. As soon as the last piece was placed, it started lighting up with a red light.
Seth was now having fun. Looking around the store, there were many other items and runes with different uses, some explained and some not. Runes had both two and three-dimensional counterparts and others that where a mix so too bridge between them.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Seth had forgotten time in this dungeon, but his body had not forgotten, he needed food, drink, and sleep. He was exhausted, but adrenaline and excitement had kept him going so far. He looked into his backpack; there where a small bottle with blue cider, bread, and some dried meat. Sitting down eating, he was reading a book about different runes, one was with a Limiter with a second entry tube on the side, making him able to dime and turn off the light completely, but he had to continually use mana to do so. Interestingly this gave a lot of opportunities going forward.
With a book in one hand and a piece of meat in the other, eyes closing longer and longer with every blink, he finally embraced the darkness.
He was opening his eyes, looking around with confusion. Seth was in a bed, a large bed with silk hanging around him from above.
"Good morning, my lord," A young girl standing beside the bed said.
"Where am I?" Seth asked.
"In your castle, my lord," She answered with a warm voice.
"And that is?"
"Ahh my lord, you always have the funniest jokes. Breakfast is ready, and your guest is waiting, we should hurry."
"Ahh, yes," Seth simply said and stood up and out of bed. As soon as he did, the girl started undressing him, and he was in his old clothes that he had entered the mine shaft with. It was strange to have someone undress him, and standing there naked, trying to get his mind of this weird circumstance. Looking around the room, he could see a place dragged out of the Victorian-age. A white roof that was emasculated decorated and walls covered with art and soft patterns. The furnisher was soft-edged and covered in ornaments, and every furnisher had drapes hanging close to the floor.
How could he just accept this kind of thing? But up to this point, everything inside this dungeon did not make any sense. Everything was unplanned and done in the spare of the moment. As if it was testing him in some way, but that was, what a dungeon did right? He needed to figure this out; he was now pretending to be a lord? Lord of what? So far, he only needed to choose a path. It may stay the same, right? Choose your path and take responsibility for that choice.
She had dressed him a flamboyant white suit with fabric hanging loose around his hands. They walked down the hall to meet his guest sitting at a large long-table that could easily fit 50 people. As he entered the dining hall, which was just as elegantly decorated as his bedroom, the system announced.
