Step two
in the kingdom of Alfrega, to the west of the town of senton, through the forest of galsh, and in the mountain of gilmore, the was a cave. and inside of that cave, was a thirteen year-old girl drinking something from a horned skull.
"i'm so bored. what is there to do around here?" Cellex was peeved.
not a single hero had shown up to challenge her, and the cave had gradually grown boring. all there was to it was the entrance room, and i little private room that was only ten feet by ten feet, and only eight tall.
"is it because they're scared? no, i haven't done anything big enough for heros to be afraid of me."
"is it because they don't know how to find me? that could be it, but by now i should have at least seen one."
i thought for a bit, and i think that i came to the right conclusion.
"they don't see me as an overlord! i see, after all, the only thing that i did was kill a cave full of goblins. they might even think that i'm an adventurer!" she shivered at this, and tried to shake the horrible thought out of her head.
"so, how do i make them see me as an evil overlord?"
"right! i need minions! you can't be an overlord without minions. i can't believe that i forgot that crucial detail." she smacked herself in the face, which was quite something, as her own strength made her fly a couple feet before crashing into a wall.
however, she jumped up out of the dust cloud, not even a bruise on her face. and she set out to get herself some minions.
---
walking through the forest was boring too.
she couldn't believe that adventurers could do this kind of thing for hours on end. she saw a couple wolfs, some slimes, and a couple bats, but they were smart enough to steer clear.
seeing as she was bored, when sounds of celebration were heard she naturally wanted in on it.
when she saw who was celebrating, she felt a small grin begin on her face.
it was goblins. thirty-six, to be exact. they were dancing around the fire, and it looked a little strange, as it was the middle of the afternoon. but she didn't let that deter her, instead she made her way over to them. when she was seen, the goblin who noticed her quickly motioned to his companions,
when they had gathered around their leader, a hobgoblin with an overbite and a goatee, which did not look good on him, they all faced the lone girl.
"what are you doing out here, little girl?"
she frowned, but that only made her look cuter.
"my name is Cellex, the overlord who resides in the cave to the west. and you will address me with respect, assuming you want to keep you head where it is."
for a moment, they didn't know what to think. the words she said certainly sounded true, but with her cute face and childlike voice, they just couldn't take her seriously.
the hobgoblin chuckled, and said, "that is quite funny, little girl. tell me, do your parents know your out here?" he was licking his lips while doing this, and made him look even uglier.
"no. my parents are both in hell. i've come to challenge you to a duel. if i win, all of you," and here she gestured to all of the gathered goblins, "will become my minions, and swear undying loyalty to me."
"he he, sure, why not, little girl, but if i win, you will become a slave." the hobgoblin said while rubbing his hands together.
'after all, even if i lose which would be impossible, we can just take her as a slave anyway.'
"deal. now, before we start, i want each of you goblins to put a drop of blood in this." she said, holding out her horned skull.
they looked confused, but did as she asked. when all thirty-five of the regular goblins had come forward and given a drop of blood, she stopped the hobgoblin from putting a drop of his blood in.
"didn't you say that we all had to put a drop of blood into this?"
"what i meant was that all those who would be alive after the dual."
all of a sudden, the hobgoblin felt a chill on his spine.
she pricked her finger and drew a pentagram on the forehead of the skull with her blood and started chanting over it, and it slowly turned completely red, draining the blood into the bone itself, though the pentagram remained, just as a deeper shad of red.

"there. now, if i win you will all be bound to this skull, and to it's creator, me."
their eyes all slowly widened in horror.
"but, if mister hobgoblin here kills me this skull will disintegrate and it will be like it had never been in the first place."
"now, lets get to it, shall we?" she said with a childlike smile full of innocence and kindness.
"o-okay." was all the hobgoblin could manage to choke out.
she said no more, simply walking up to him and kicking his knee. it snapped like a twig, and he fell over with a scream.
i put my foot over his head, and asked him, "any last requests?"
"well, i-" then she crushed his skull with her foot.
"too slow." then she turned to her new minions, and smiled like she had just been given a bag full of toys. "i promise to be a really good evil overlord, and i hope we can be friends!"
"w-what are you? where did you get that strength from?" asked one of the goblins who was quicker than the others.
"well, i guess it's in my genes, after all, i am one-fourth giant."
they looked at the extremely short girl, and one of the stupider ones open his mouth, "th-"
"if you make one comment about my height, i will rip your head off and shove it so far up your ass it will be like your head had never moved, and the only thing that will remain of my punishment is the extreme anal trauma, and your neck bleeding.
"okay."
---
when she brought her new minions back to her cave, she immediately set them to work, cleaning the previous occupants remains off of the floor, and throwing it outside.
they looked slightly horrified when they first saw the remains of the other members of their race, but they quickly got over it. goblins aren't very sympathetic creatures.
once the interior was cleared out and the room at the back was cleared of the ogres belongings, she sent the goblins to go out and gather materials for making beds and cooking fires. when they had all returned and finished with their projects, she called them all forward and explained the magic she had used on their blood.
it was a complex series of spells that simultaneously bound them to the skull and the owner of the blood that the pentagram was drawn with. that being said, she then proceeded to kill all of them.
in twelve hours, they all woke up within seconds of each other.
"ah, your up! welcome back to the world of the living."
"wait, so your telling us that you actually killed all of us and that it wasn't just a nightmare?"
"yep. your all demon souls now. before you died, if i had died you would all have been set free. but, now that you have died and been revived with demon magic,if i die you will all too. since you were bound to me via this skull, you are now unable to stay dead for more than twelve hours.if i die, the bond will break, and you will all be free to return to hell, since you can never go to heaven no that you are demon souls. not that you would have ever gone to heaven, but this removes all doubt. now you can be dispensable fodder to test the hero's might, and when the nest hero comes you can do the same thing again, isn't that great!" she looked around, showing them all her best smile.
they said nothing.
she sent five of them to go out and scout around for food, and the other thirty got to starting fires, setting up bedding, and all the other stuff.
when one came back screaming, "adventurers! adventurers!"
she got quite exited.
end of step two.
Authors note: i added the whole demon magic cause i didn't want to have to explain how she replaced her minions every time they died. and it's foreshadowing. anyway, hope you liked it! :)
