Ryan continued with his stake out, leaning on the same tall tree.
He had infact been doing that for almost an hour and a half now. Ryan found it somewhat strange how could still tell time with nothing but his head.
'I guess the years I've spent gaming and watching anime probably have something to do with it'
Ryan thought.
Even though Ryan was now used to stakeouts from having to wait for prey to show up when he was hunting for food , he was still somewhat irritated for having to wait long durations without doing something.
Ryan waited for only a few more minutes before he heard a familiar loud buzz coming from above him. Ryan this time didn't dare move or look up.
'They're moving east'
Ryan quickly followed behind the buzzing bees , stealthily moving from tree to tree while making sure to maintain a good enough distance between him and the maniacal bees which would no doubt abandon everything and lunge at him if they somehow detected him.
Ryan continued to follow behind them up until he exited the forest and reached the entrance of a cave that somewhat looked familliar. Ryan heard the echoes of the bees buzzing coming from inside the cave. He was careful not to stand too close to the entrance and was even hiding behind a tree. 12 metres were inbetween the entrance of the the cave and the entrance of the forest.
Ryan waited for just a few minutes before he saw the 11 enormous bees flying out of of cave and forcibly carrying out a large snake as a unit. They looked like ants back on earth when they carried prey together. Ryan would have considered what was happening infront of him animal channel worthy - if it weren't for the fact that the snake was still very much alive and the bees had already mercilessly sunk their razor sharp legs into the bleeding and hissing snake.
The snake which looked very much like the one Ryan had killed months ago wriggled and thrashed like an earthworm cut in half, somehow managing to free itself from the grasp of 7 bees. The remaining 4 bees unable to continue carrying the heavy snake , plummeted down with it.
Even though the snake had managed to free itself , the remaining 4 bees pinned it to the ground with great coordination. It didn't take long before the 7 other bees started to riddle the snakes with stinger attacks , no doubt reprimanding the snake for not accepting the mercy of being allowed to live longer.
The stingers were actually launched from their behinds like bullets and ruthlessly penetrated the snake , which had no way of defending against the aero-born attack.
'This bees are really bold and merciless!'
Ryan thought. What was even more crazy was that the bees somehow managed to regenerate their stinger in just seconds and were relentlessly throwing them at the helpless snake like reloaded bullets.
After a few minutes of the ruthless attacking , the snake was finally stationary - no doubt dead. The 7 bees then impaled the snake at different sections once more before they began flying away with it back into the forest.
'I wonder , if it were I in the snake's shoes - would I have managed to win, no , would I have managed to escape with my life?'
Ryan pondered as he watched the bees fly past him without noticing him.
The bees were no doubt true menaces. The small bees back on earth were already rather a pain and a threat if they swarmed you and would relentlessly chase you, Ryan actually remembered watching cases of people actually dying from multiple bee stings. Now give the same bees sharp blades for legs , stingers which could be fired at great speed and be regenerated , along with a carnivorous appetite and a large body - wouldn't they be the number one predator for all animals on earth ?
Ryan quickly started following behind the bees while once again making sure to maintain some good distance between him and the bees. He followed them up until they reached their house tree sized hives.
Ryan could now clearly see the hives in great detail - they seemed to be seperated into 3 distinct types : there were large red coloured hives , yellow coloured hives and finally a large white coloured hive. The red hives seemed to be dripping with something red as Ryan watched the bees carry the snake into one of them.
'Hmm , the red hives must be for prey - I wonder if the red hives are red by nature or they have become red due to being dyed with the blood of the bees' victims?'
Ryan shuddered at the thought , he shifted his attention to the yellow coloured hives. If the red coloured hives were for storing prey, then the yellow coloured hives were no doubt either all for housing or individually for different functions. Ryan remembered learning back on earth how bees had a complex society and system , quite similar to humans - they had places for feeding babies , nurses and even had attender bees which would look after the Queen.
'now speaking of the Queen , the white hive is no doubt hers.'
No matter the species , Queens were given lavish treatment, and bees were no exception. The larger hive must have been hers.
'Well, the lavish treatment only lasts up until she no longer is laying any eggs for the colony - the treatment from then on takes a full 180 degree turn'
Bees back on earth would actually brutally murder the Queen if she no longer could lay any eggs , they would do this by swarming around her before trapping her inside a ball made of the bees , in the deeper part of the bee-ball , some of the bees launched fierce bite attacks at the Queen.
While the ball shaped formation ensured that the Queen had no way of escaping , it also served another purpose - which was quickening the Queen's death. Bees not participating in direct attacks against the Queens would flap their wings , this would increase the temperature inside the ball and ultimately make sure if the Queen didn't die from the attacks then she would die from suffocation.
Bees were rather ruthless , and these monster bees were even more so - which was more than enough reason for Ryan to not even think of the crazy thought of taking them on in a fight. He could try his luck against one of them , but ten - hundreds ? Not a chance in hell.

After observing for a while, Ryan heard a loud buzzing and immediately hid himself behind the nearest tree.
Hearing the louder sound of the buzzing compared to before , Ryan deduced that the bees were now hunting with far greater numbers than before. He stopped moving and breathing all together , these little monsters would dispatch him in seconds if they were ever to detect him.
It didn't take long before before he heard the buzzing sound starting to split and emanate from 3 different locations , the buzzing now started to move in 3 different directions - North , South and West.
Ryan found himself at a struggle in which group he should follow, unfortunately he didn't have a second or third body.
'Let me just follow the swarm infront of me going north'
Ryan thought as he stealthily began following the unaware monstrous bees , surprisingly the bees this time didn't go all the way outside the forest but stopped next to a tree that looked similar to a palm tree before they started scaling it up.
The screeches of multiple creatures followed minutes after , Ryan then actually saw many creatures falling fom the enormous palm trees. Some landed far away from him , and to his misfortune, some even landed near him.
Taking a quick look , the creatures looked similar to monkeys in the sense that they had 2 arms and 2 legs along with a very hairy body. However they didn't have a tail and had a round face along with very sharp claws - infact , they looked scarily similar to tree scaling sloths back on earth.
In just a minute after falling , the sloth-looking creatures quickly picked themselves up and started fleeing for their lives with surprising speed. One of them actually stopped dead in their tracks and looked at Ryan , who had thought had concealed himself good enough to be mistaken as a shadow. However , after hearing a loud buzzing and turning back to see a bee carrying one of its kind, the creature dismissed any thoughts of attacking Ryan if it had any and also started running for its life.
'Those are probably the fastest sloths I've ever seen'
Ryan thought , the sloths back on earth were absolutely no match for these furry creatures that possessed the ability to flee for their lives unlike them , which probably what enabled the creatures to survive in the cruel forest.
Of the 17 bees that had assaulted the tree, only 4 actually managed to kill one of the creatures. The remaining 13 began chasing the bees with speed betraying their large bodies.
Ryan unfortunately couldn't afford to follow behind to watch the spectacle , the bees were already alert - they'd easily discover him if he followed , hence it was too big of a risk.
Ryan waited for a few minutes for the bees to disperse far away from him before he speedily headed towards their hive , he had managed to memorize the way towards there.
He arrived at the bee hive in just 5 minutes and started heading west from there , none of the 3 groups that had seperated from each other could have been done with hunting in the minutes they had been away.
Sure enough Ryan was right , because he started hearing a buzzing sound ahead of him and started slowing down. He saw 14 bees attack a herd.
This herd of animals were covered in brown skin and had a brown mane , they were also as big as an elephant cub and had 2 tusks and a single horn emerging from their face.
'Bullseye.'
Ryan had finally managed to track and find the wild boars using the bees. He had no worries of the bees actually taking the entire herd for themselves. The wild boars , unlike the sloths stood their ground and fought for their lives - there were only 14 bees while there were about 21 wild boars , the bees were clearly outnumbered.
The bees started throwing their signature stingers at the herd. It seemed even though the bees were outnumbered, they were still a force to be reckoned with as they could attack in the air without being close to the wild boars to suffer any damage.
It took 32 minutes of relentless firing and chasing for the bees to finally triumph over the 21 wild boars ,the part of the forest where the battle took place was stained with puddles of blood and dead bodies.
Even though the bees were infact the final victors of the battle , the victory was not easily attained. Along the course of the fight, Ryan had observed the bees' stinger bullets regenerating and shooting at a gradual slow rate - it seemed there was a limit to how long they could shoot their stingers as time passed.
The 14 bees now started moving towards the corpses. Unlike with the snake, the bees couldn't exactly help each carry the corpses , So Ryan watched the bees struggle to lift two wild boars at a time. They eventually chose to lift one each and grudgingly left the place with 7 wild boar beast corpses remaining behind.
Ryan waited for a few minutes before he began acting , he couldn't afford to wait any longer. The smell of blood would no doubt attract nearby predators so he had to act fast before that happened.
He bent nearer one of the boar corpses , before pulling out a concealed pale white dagger in preparation to remove it's tus-
" Humpfh! "
Ryan suddenly heard the sound of a snorting boar behind him.
'I have a bad feeling about this'
Ryan thought as he slowly turned.
There was a large wild boar with 2 tusks and 2 horns, it completely dwarfed the corpses that lay all around Ryan.
It momentarily looked around , no doubt noting the bloodshed. It's eyes then stopped on Ryan - with a dagger in hand , he was no doubt the perfect scapegoat to pin the blame on.
The large beast didn't waste any more time and immediately attacked with surprising speed , closing the 6 metre gap between it and Ryan in just 3 seconds.
" Dammit ! "
Ryan cursed as he hastily jumped to the side, abandoning his dagger which was already lodged inside the tusk of one of the corpses.
The large wild boar couldn't willingly stop it's momentum and hit a large tree, there was a loud cracking sound and creak before the tree was toppled over.
If that had been Ryan , he would have no doubt been riddled with holes if not torn apart to pieces.
However , Ryan wasn't entirely defenceless.
He glanced at his dagger which was within 4 metres of grasp and the large wild boar which had already turned its head and was preparing for a second attack. Ryan immediately launched himself at his dagger with a speed that would have made him look a blur to a normal human , the wild boar responded in kind by dashing towards him - it's sharp four horns leading the way.
Ryan quickly dodged at the last minute , making the stupid wild boar fly past him once again, unable to halt it's movement. Ryan then quickly grabbed the pale wyvern dagger which was within his reach , he then glared at the wild pig which somehow looked angry for being fooled by Ryan.
" Bring it on you fat bastard. "
Ryan provoked the wild boar.
What he hadn't expected was for the taunt to actually work.
The large wild pig immediately launched itself once more in blind fury at Ryan who simply stood in place. With his wyvern dagger, his chances of winning were massively increased.
At the last second, Ryan simply stepped aside and then ducked, his Wyvern dagger craftily clashed with the boar's charging legs - easily cutting two of them apart. The monster immediately came crashing down and slid across the ground before stopping.
Ryan walked up to the defenceless monster as he stared deeply into its eyes , with the months he spent hunting , Ryan no longer hesitated when he murdered monsters as he had no doubt they would mercilessly kill and eat him if the tables were to turn.
What was morality or humanity in the face of death?
" In your next life pick the smarter decision and simply walk away. "
Ryan coldly said as his dagger traveled in an wide arc towards the wild boar's neck , instantly decapitating it.
As he watched the wild pig bleed out , Ryan wondered if he had somewhat lost a part of him after transmigrating to the fantasy world. The old Ryan who liked to game and watch anime would have no doubt reflexively winced at the sight of this much blood , but this Ryan didn't even shift a muscle.
" I guess one has to charge in order to survive in this cruel world "
Now the real question was whether this change was for the better or was one which would turn him into a monster and eventually Into a true villain he seemed to be destined to be.
Ryan didn't know.
Which scared him.
