Chapter 7 The Adventure Guild

'' .... ''

Let me guess, you got lost?

'' ... noooo I just want to explore the city a bit before I go to the adventurers' guild, that's all ha-ha-ha. ''

Yep I was lost, even though I didn't want to admit it as stubborn as I was, the city was really huge. While I was walking around senselessly, I saw a store further ahead that reminded me of a clothing store, which was good because I was starting to get annoyed by all the looks of the residents. I went to the store, so I could take a closer look at the building, it was a small building with a sign that seemed to have a drawing on it.

'' ....what is that supposed to be? '' I asked myself as I looked closer at the drawing.

For me, it looked almost as if a small child had painted this picture, it showed a .... man stretching his arms to the left and right while smiling. I thought nothing of it and went into the store. I had actually expected that at least 1–2 people should be here, but the store was completely empty. The whole thing looked from the inside, really, like an ordinary clothing store, left and right of me hung everywhere clothes. I looked at a few of the clothes closer and could immediately tell that they were not particularly high quality.

'' mhh who is- A CUSTOMER MAMA, MAMA WE HAVE A CUSTOMER. ''

Out of nowhere a little girl suddenly appeared and started screaming loudly and shortly after that I heard footsteps getting louder and faster.

'' W-W-W- a customer welcome to our store, do you need help picking out? Do you want us to take your measurements? Shall we- ''

'' Mom, calm down, or we will scare the customer. ''

You're right, Lilly, if you need help, just call me,'' said the woman who was completely out of breath.

They don't often have customers, I said to myself, and started looking around the store, but no matter what piece of clothing I was looking at, it was all low-quality stuff. I had thought of just leaving again but... the way the two of them looked at me hopefully meant that was not possible. After long consideration, I chose a white shirt and blue cloth pants and went to the woman, who stared at me with shining eyes.

'' That would be it. ''

'' y-y-yes that would be 4 gold coins. ''

Excuse me for asking, but is it always this empty here? I'm new in the city, and I always thought that stores like this must be full of people. ''

'' ... '''

Before the woman could answer me, the door behind me suddenly burst open and 3 men had entered the store.

'' HEY, WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE MONEY YOU OWED US. '' one of the men shouted to the woman

'' I-i-I don't have it yet-but next month I will pay you I promise-IHAA NO PLEASE-''

While the woman was still talking, the other two men started throwing the clothes all over the floor or tearing them.

'' hahha this thing is so bad I can just rip it like that hey look RASH hahhahah. ''

'' STOP DESTROYING MOMMY'S CLOTHES. '' screamed the kid and ran towards the two of them

'' huh? Get out of here you pest, or we'll take you for collateral. '' said one of the two and grabbed Lilli by the neck.

'' hihih or should I just kill you here and now so your mommy will finally hurry up with the money-''

'' HEY let go of the girl and go, what do you guys want here anyway?! '' I shouted to the men and ran towards them.

I knocked the foremost one to the ground with a punch to the face, but I used my human strength not to kill or hurt him. But in doing so, I angered the other two, who ran at me. However, I dodged all their blows and knocked them to the ground as well.

'' AND NOW GO and don't show your faces here again! ''

And so the men ran out of the store, the woman thanked me, I paid for the clothes and left the store and the men also definitely did not come back to take revenge on the woman or anything THE END.

This probably would have happened in any Isekai anime I had watched, where the MC is a stupid coward unwilling to kill...but luckily I'm the MC now

Just before the man started choking lilli I ran to him and used Instant death. I could have killed him with my sword, but this way I could use the confusion to my advantage and avoid getting the whole place covered in blood.

'' HEY, what do you think you're doing that has nothing to do with you, get the fuck out of here! ''

While the other one was still processing what I had done, I also ran at him and used instant death, whereupon his lifeless body also fell to the ground. After I was done with him, I turned to the last one, who was looking at me fearfully. I had intended to confront him to find out what was going on, but as I took a step in his direction, he fainted.

'' W-w-w LILI are you okay. '' cried the woman and ran to her child who was lying on the floor crying.

'' MAMA- MAMA. ''

Before I went to the two, I checked if the man was really unconscious or just pretending and once I knew that he was indeed unconscious, I went to the woman and the child.

'' w-we-well- '' said the woman stuttering

'' haha I'm sorry if I scared you, can you maybe tell me what these men wanted from you? ''

'' That uh so uh sigh. ''

And so the woman told me everything. She and her husband had borrowed money from this group to start this store. It was their biggest wish to start their own store, but they didn't have the money to do it. It was a risk, because they knew that these people could not be trusted, but they were sure that they could pay back the money with the store. Apparently, the woman named Sina was good at making clothes, but immediately after they opened the store, she lost this ability. That and for whatever reason no one wanted to visit her store, they didn't know why. I was apparently the first customer since the opening, and that's why they weren't able to pay back the money.

It seems that this woman is cursed by a strong curse that makes her unable to use her skills. This also explains why she has lost the ability to sew.

Out of nowhere a man suddenly appeared behind me who seemed to be Lilli's father, and it wasn't just any man.

'' Marx am I glad to see you. '' Sina said and ran towards Marx.

'' SINA what happened what is going on here you but-? You are the guy from the tavern. ''

Zunda sent his men again and asked for the money, but they were more violent this time and even tried to kill Lilli. But this boy defeated them and saved Lilli. ''

When Sina said that, Marx ran up to me and got down on his knees before thanking me and apologizing for everything. I offered my hand to Marx and told him it was no problem before the two of us went to the Man who was still unconscious.

''So they are the ones who wanted to kill my sweet Lili. '' Marx said and took out his sword.

But at that moment, I put my hand on his shoulders and told him to calm down.

'' Calm down? They wanted to kill my little sweet daughter and I should calm down? I WILL KILL THEM...

'' ... They are already dead, Marx I left this one alive, so I could interrogate him. '' I said to Marx and looked at him with my dead eyes.

But before I could do anything, I heard voices behind me again, but this time they were soldiers and Marx, his adventure companions. And immediately after they were here, there was chaos, Marx and his wife explained to the soldiers what had happened. At that moment I saw a dark alley between the 4 soldiers so I used instant teleportation and disappeared from the store.

'' Yes this boy here has- EH WHERE DID HE GO...huh?.....he was a random stranger I actually wanted to ask him his name, but I have no idea where he went. ''

As Marx panicked and looked for me, he saw me behind the soldiers in the alley. Thereupon, I held my finger against my mouth and told him that he should not mention me. And thanks to my superhuman hearing, I was able to hear what Marx said, which pleased me. After I heard what Marx told the guards, I turned around and walked down the alley before I was back on the street on the other side.

'' ahhh how I hate surprise evens like that, luckily Marx didn't tell the guards anything about me. ''

On my way I finally admitted to myself that I had lost my way and asked the people on the street for directions. And then after a long time of asking and running I finally stood in front of the guild, it was a big house. Next to the big door hung a shield on the shield was a man to see who held a sword in his hand and above him hung several different weapons a sword a shield and a bow. Finally, I had made it that was it, this is the adventurers guild my dream will finally come true. I opened the door and walked into the guild, while going in I was greeted by loud voices. I continued to look around before I saw a woman in front of me smiling and waving at me from behind the counter. We both looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds before I made my way over to her.

'' Welcome to the adventurers guild I'm Tifa and I take care of all the adventurers, I think you're new here am I right? ''

'' oh, yes I am new in town my name is Rin and I would like to apply to be an adventurer. ''

'' mhhh then please feel out this paper when you are done with it just call me. '' said Tifa She handed me a paper and then turned away from me.

I looked at the paper and noticed that it reminded me of a membership application, Name, Age. So I filled out the paper as well as I could and called for Tifa who then came back to me.

'' Mhhh then let's see....yes that would be all then next-

'' ohh good morning Tifa again hard at work? '' suddenly said a man who appeared out of nowhere.

Yes master this boy is new in the city and would like to join our guild he has already filled out the formula everything else I leave to you. '' said Tifa

'' mh what does that mean? '' I asked Tifa

'' haha....- ''

'' ihaa- master? ''

While the man was still coming towards me, I could tell from his facial expression that he was afraid of something and shortly after that he ran to Tifa and the two of them turned around. I saw them whispering in each other's ears, but I was able to understand them without any problem.

'' Hey Tifa who the hell is this guy here?!?!?!?!?!?!? ''

'' heyy? What do you mean master?

'' I have often had to fight opponents who were stronger than me, and many times I felt a strange sensation. I always described it as a feeling like my body was looking forward to a fight, it was tingling.

'' I don't understand Master what do you mean with that? ''

Excuse me, but am I now officially an adventurer? '' I asked Tifa and the master

'' Not quite yet, you have to fight the master first, he is the one who will decide if we can hire you as an adventurer or not. ''

'' ok, and are there rules?

'' You just have to hold out as long as possible, in the meantime the master will attack you and evaluate you. You can choose a weapon of your choice, there are not really many rules, but the most important one is that you have to fight the master. You can't just run away or dodge all the time, if you do that you will be disqualified and the fight is over.

'' Ok and am I also allowed to use my skills? ''

'' haha of course this is going to be a real fight, but you could also die, I'm not going to hold back. If you don't have any other questions, let's leave right away, Tifa please prepare everything.

'' Yes that would be everything from my side. ''

And so we set off, the master and I are walking side by side, while Tifa had already gone ahead. On the way, I talked with the master for a while and asked him why a fight is necessary to become an adventurer.

'' Well, let me put it this way, what do I think would happen if we just hired anyone to be an adventurer? 1. we would have more adventurers than quests and more importantly we would have too many adventurers who are not really up to this life and get scared by the smallest monsters. Imagine a person needs escort and gives up a quest, an adventurer sees it and accepts the quest. On their way they meet a monster or bandits and the adventurer just runs away in fear or dies after a few seconds. To prevent exactly that we prefer to have fewer adventurers but stronger and more reliable ones than many weaker and unqualified ones, oh we are here, here we are going to fight. ''

While I was engrossed in our conversation, we finally arrived at the arena, it was a large open area behind the guild. Tifa had just finished preparing and was coming towards me with various weapons. I chose the sword and got ready, in the meantime I saw several adventurers coming through the door behind us.

'' Hey Master, do you mind if we watch? '' asked one of the adventurers.

'' haha just don't stand in our way, so then Tifa it's time. '' said the master

'' Master, Shin are you both ready? ''
