"we are not in Kansas any more" Murmured James after he turned his head around to see what was all the fuss about. Everyone including him was shellshocked to see a second sun rasing up on the horizon, it was surreal, even more so than the fact that in less than 2 minutes they will be fighting a new group of monsters.
"ok everyone get ready" Peter said as he closed the visor on his helmet, he and Mark took the front line as Officer James was still recovering from his injured leg, he could not stand and limp on his own, but even though his leg wound was healing at an alarmingly fast rate he couldn't make it as a front liner yet.
"keep your bullets for emergencies only" Peter reiterated as he lifted his sheild and the orc's axe and took a stance next to Marck, both shields almost blocking the entire hallway
5... 4... 3... 2...1...
A low buzzing sound started to resonate around the floor, coming from different sources at once
"fuck, everyone run to the nearest office, we got flying bogies inboud!" Screamed Officer Lin as a peter used his X-ray vison to find out where the buzzing sound was comming from.
From the shadows he saw a few figures emerge in a distant room. he estimated that they where not taller than 3 feet (1meter) and that the buzzing sound was their wings on their back that resembled a drangonfly. they where all clad in black and had pitch black daggers that seemed to eat the light around them. he counted seven of them before he spotted what he assumed was their boss.

"Fuck!" screamed Peter as he made a dash to the printing room, it was the closest room they could barricade themselves in, after opening the door and letting eveyone in he slammed the door closed, an impact could be heard as one of the Fairies slammed in to it, after locking the door he helped them make an improvised barricade around when they flipping a table on the side and pushed it against the door.
"i did not expected them to be able to fly" said peter while he pushed the door, the Fairies where in frenezy smashing against the door on the other side. the problem was the the square table made of hard wood was shorter than the hollow door that whas beggining to bereak down.
"fuck me" Peter said as he saw the boss of the wave back off and hi's/her's minions make a way for It to charge at full tilt towards the door
"hold the door!" Screamed Peter as the BlackGuard was charging in
"now its not the time to refference game of thr" Mark was intterrupted as a huge slam almost sent him flying, by the time he managed the recover and push half of the blackguard was sticking out through the gap that formed, it was entangled in between the splintered wood and carboard that made the cheap door, one hand through, it waved it's dagger around trying to reach Mark even though he was way to far for its short arms and blade. Mark saw that Officer Lin has come to help, three people pushing the table shut pinning down the BlackGuard who just trashed around like a mad beast, not for long though as a bullet found its way through it's skull, James had just limped closer to the fight and blew the creature brains out with a single shot.

Everyone's hearing was gone for the time being only a high pitched ringing sound could be heard in their minds, shotting a gun in a closed up room without ear protection had its consequencences.
Peter still using his X-ray vision could see how this affected the other Fairies, they went even more batshit crazy than before, this time they started not only attacking the door but also the walls, whitch where made of cheap panels and fiberglass, but to their advantage it seemed that the black energy coating the weapons that used to be emanating from the daggers of the Fairies was now gone. Peter suspected it had something to do with the death of the BlackGuard.
As one of the Fairies made it through the wall screeching it was meet with the spear tip of one of the girls through it's eye, as peter turned around he saw Lisa's face plastered with a snarl as she screamed incosistently, thanks to his helmet and his higher level his ear ringing was almost gone
"you fuckers... You think you can trash my studio... FUCK YOU!" Lisa scremed as she mindlessly kept stabbing the now dead Fairy.
A half smile apeared in Peter's face, not that anyone could see it under his helmet and closed visor, but he acknowleged that the cute looking executive had finally snapped out of her self pity and turned it in to agression, as the dead Fairy fell down another took its place, this one shielded its face while it tired to power through the hole, It's thin arms might have protected it's face but from the side it was meet with another spear through the neck, Anastasia ripped the spear out letting the small creature drown in its own black blood.
Seeing that other walls surrounding the printing room where being broken in peter had no choice but to improvise.
"fall back! fall back!" he screamed as he let go of the table and pushed Officer Lin and Mark back. The table was tipped over and the remaning 5 Fairies tried to pile down the now opened passage only to be meet with shield bashes, hits from a spiked club, an Orc's axe and spears as the party of humans re engaged the small conglomerate of Rogues.
The spiked club was the most effective weapon of them all, being of the reach of a sword but the nails in the end of it made for a great maiming tool as Mark swinged it around mindlessly, even if he did not hit the Fairies bodies because they dodged, he still hit their wings, making the agile airborne targets bound to land as peter and the girls choped and speared them to death respectively.
The fight after the table went down took less than 30 seconds, with Peter and Mark keeping the Fairies at bay with their shields and weapons as a front line the Fairy Rogues stood no chance. Heavy breathing was the only thing that could be heard around as everyone stood in silence. Mark's chest raised and lowered significantly as it was more noticeble than peter who was in his Biker jaket.
"this ones are nice" said Mark as he started to loot the bodies picking up a pair of daggers from one of the corpses, he took out their belts whitch had the dagger sheaths, and fastened it around his waist.
Peter took up one of the daggers and inspected it

Fairy dagger, forged in the Astral Realm from Dark Crystal Ore. They make for great CQC weapons, enchanted with a Mana Conductivity Enhancer this weapons power can be boosted with almost every atribute except for Light.
Peter picked up a pair for everyone and handed them over, he still did not knew about "atributes" and "Mana" but he got himself an idea. at least he could guess.
"hey Mark, so what about the atributes, and the whole 'system' thing, shouldnt we have like a character sheet with all our shit" Asked Peter, if this whole new reality revolved around levels there should be like a flatsheet with all their info.
"Yes i been thinking about that. I tired saying it all it all 'menu' 'status' 'info' but none of the words seem to give me regular options on what is going on with my body, at least its not like in the novels i read about this shit, like i feel stronge.." he got interrupted as they all leveled up except for Officer Lin
They all groaned as they leveled up, some more than others. As the seconds passed they all normalized.
soon after they heard another sound comming up from the outside of the printing room. this time it was a groaning guttural sound.
"ohh shit, here we go again" said Peter as he moved the table out of the doorway
"i aint waiting for them to come to me this time" he reiterated.
"seems like the being controling this thing just likes to counter everything we do with this shitty ass waves" He said as he made his way out through the broken door. "fuck that" he finished as he was walking towards the closest groaning sound he could hear.
