The Profundities Behind Clear Sky

The Profundities Behind Clear Sky

As its name suggested, Innate Strength gave the user an immense burst to their muscular strength, resulting in them attaining a massive muscular frame. It also resulted in hot tempers and a high desire for battle. In some cases it even made people incredibly lustful. But Darius had none of those. He was clearly showing numbers someone with Innate Strength had, but he was a relatively normal 18 year old boy with a medium physique.

He clearly had a cowardly temperament and couldn't even look hope in the eye for more than a second, despite the fact that he was not weak. But now it seems the duo was wrong. This wasn't an ordinary Innate Strength Constitution. It was more accurate to call it an Innate Endurance Constitution mixed with an Innate Strength Constitution. The clash of the two resulted in what they were observing. Both Ro and Hope had more than two constitutions, but they had never seen such a complimentary combination.

It was like genetic mutation, most of the time the results of combining constitutions has negative results. But Darius had a superb combination. Not only that, Innate Constitutions had levels of quality. It was clear that his Innate Endurance Constitution was of a much higher quality than his Innate Strength Constitution.

Hope was overtaken by a sudden thought and said, "Get on the treadmill, its time for the next test. Darius had long switched off indomitable so he was back to his old cowardly self. Hope knew that his physic was incredible, then what about his cardio?

They had Darius run at maximum speed on the spiritual essence treadmil but he only started getting tired after four hours. Smashing another record to pieces. By the time he had stopped, he was drenched in sweat. He leapt of the treadmill with great joy. He wasn't used to using his feet that much and hated running.

Hope used an interesting restoration spell to have him cleaned up. There was no doubt. He had a high quality Innate Endurance Constitution. Hope could not help but be envious, because this meant two things. He could fight and train for much longer periods of time than others, and he could heal faster too, so his speed of training would be much faster. She was envious, but at the same time thrilled that such a freak had become a martialist. It was only here that his true potential could be brought out.

While Hope was lost in her fantasies, Ro spoke up, "Isn't ter anoda test sweety." Hope shook her head and realised, right, there was still a few more tests.

"Follow me." she walked out of that room and entered another room that had seemingly come out of nowhere in the gym. Darius shook his head and just followed. The room was odd. It looked like a control center of some sorts, facing a room that had holes places almost everywhere. Hope pointed to the room and said, "Time to test your reflexes, burst speed and agility. Go inside."

Darius did as told and walked into the room from a side door in the control center. He was instructed to stand in the center.

"What appendage do you use to fight the most?" asked Hope through a microphone.

"Uhm, I use a hammer, so my hands I think?" said a confused Darius.

Hope nodded and said, "Listen carefully. There will be balls of essence coming out in a random order from the holes in the walls. If they anywhere except your hands they will cause immense pain. Too many hits and you will fall unconscious. Either dodge or use your hands to block. There is a circle of light at the bottom of the room. It will get smaller as time goes on. You are only allowed to move within the circle. The test will end when you fall or move outside the circle. No spiritual essence or skills. Good luck."

Darius had a rough idea of what to do and readied himself. Stood there ready. A ball of spiritual essence apprached his head from behind. There was no countdown or warning. And the first ball also had a paralyses effect. Hope snickered as she saw this. Some constitutions have disadvantages, and main disadvantge of Innate Strength Constitutions was reaction speed! The heavens were fair. She was impressed by Darius to the point were she gave up hope of surpassing physically in the future. But life was not so simple.

Like he had eyes on the back of his head, Darius bent backwards, narrowly avoiding the red ball of spiritual essence. As it passed his eyes, it was as if time had slowed down. He carefully observed as much as he could before the ball entered another hole and disappered. "Irie."

Hope raised a brow. How could she not be impressed. What kind of freak was this boy? She didn't understand that he had an impressive sixth sense. Things were no so simple. Reaction speed, Darius sneered. He was confident that on this world, no one had a better reaction speed than a coward!

In a tavern somwhere in the distant past, an middle aged man was drinking ale in a bar. He took only one sip and drank it all in one go. He exhaled and slapped his rosy cheeks. The fat bartender chortled and said, "As always chief its hilarious watching you."

The man reffered to as 'chief' grunted and stood up. He went for the exit until a few words stopped him in his tracks, "Pathetic, the village chief can't even take 2 cups of cheap ale, do you even have bollocks mate?"

The other men in the bar laughed uproariously, without holding thelmselves back. One of the more intoxicated ones even fell on the floor, gasping for breathe after laughing to hard. There was a momentrary silence followed by another round of laughter, this time targetted at the man who had made a fool of himself. He laughed at himself as he failed dismally to stand up staright.

The Village Chief only frowned and continued walking on toward the door. There by the door, as always, was a young boy, looking in fascinated by the world of adults, but within that fascination was a tinge of irritation. This, was the young Darius Omen.

Thunder in a Clear Sky. This sounded like a thunder or lightning type manual at first, but that was not it at all. Even the inesperienced Darius could produce a bolt of lightning at will. So to Spiritknights the phrase was not that impressive, but the phenomenon mentioned was reffering to a completely natural envrionment. In other words, lightning randomy fally in a clear sky. That was was an impossible feat that could not be predicted, that's why it was named so. Achieving the impossible! Being unpredictable! Those two aspects were in essence the truth of Thunder in a Clear Sky.

The manual was highly profound, created by a powerful Spiritual Artist named Brother Clear Sky. He lacked the ability to become a Spiritknight, but he was s Supreme Spritualist and a Grandmaster Martialist! He was one of the few Spiritualists who could kill spirits with incredible ease. And he was among the most powerful at that.

Brother Clear Sky never accepted any disciples of any sorts, and he never imparted any of his skills to anyone. He disappeared a thousand years ago and nothing had been heard of him since. In that booklet, was the entire inheritance of Brother Clear Sky!

To practice his techniques one didn't have to be of a specific attribute, but the man was known to be of wind, thunder and lightning affinities, so having those attributes would be of an advantage to the practitioner. Darius checked 2 out of 3 on the list so he was in a pretty good position.

The manual contained 3 things. A cultivation technique for spiritual essence, spiritual arts and a body refinement technique. The art of advancing once state was called cultivation while physical refinement was the cultivation of one's physique. Some body refinement techniques were so incredible they could allow the practitioner to acchieve an innate physique!

The Clear Sky Physique was incredible and it came with many boons. The higher the quality of a skill, the harder it was to cultivate it. High quality manuals like Thunder in a Clear Sky could only even be attempted by geniuses. Darius had no pride, so he was not arrogant about his so called 'talent'. Reggardless of how talented he was, it didn't change the fact that he was mortal, and had a thousand ways to die.

The Clear Sky Physique required many materials to be cultivated, so Darius had to put that on pause. Darius lacked the ability to understand let alone use the spiritual arts, so all he had was the energy cultivation and a rudimentary Clear Sky Physique. The first level of the body refinement technique required no materials but was extremely painful. Of course to Darius, that pain was nothing compared to the thought of death. He only gained one boon from clearing level one, and that was his sensitivity to energy. As he dodged the balls of spiritual energy this skill came in quite handy.

Like his instict it was an abstruse thing. His energy sensitivity only applied in a one meter radius around his, but for now that was enough. Roh and Hope watched on as he dodged the balls. To do this much was expected by the duo. As time went on the intensity of the test would increase. Second by second, Darius could feel the balls becoming faster, coming from trickier angles.
