Darius sighed as he remembered the past he had hoped to bury. After focusing on the present, he looked at the Helmet of Hades and the 7 Stars Cloak. He was quite happy but he was also apprehensive because the moment of truth was approaching.
Darius was undergoing the first-day tour of Ethereal Forge Academy with the enigmatic Ja Mun Ro. He had first gone to the Martialist Headquarters and had signed up as a Martialist. Martialists had the best survivability and that greatly attracted Darius thus he signed up. Then on his way from the Martialist hall, he had received a recording left by his master, with a warning about an imminent threat on his life.
Darius learned many pieces of information in that message, but one was key. Only by obtaining an Army Creation Order could he see a method of survival. That required him to join the Rangers. To succeed he had to defeat a 3-star Captain under 25, which was impossible in his current state.
Thankfully, the Rangers had two pieces of equipment that allowed Darius' power to rise, but this wasn't enough. He also needs to give the target a reason to challenge him. Thankfully, Didier had a plan for that. Darius then asked Ro to help him join the Rangers.
Darius had Ro assist him with some matters and planning. He intentionally mixed in with Courage Step Ranger Recruits. He antagonized Ricardo intentionally, and after briefly tussling with Ricardo Maldini, the mortal assistant Jenny arrived and took him to the armoury so he could select the two tools a new Honour Step recruit under 25 was allowed to take. Everything had gone according to plan. Now it was time for Darius to fulfil his part of the deal with Ro, who had fulfilled his by allowing events to play out this way.
Darius had stood and quickly tested out his new equipment. The helmet of Hades changed to becoming a pair of glasses while he fiddled with the 7-star cloak. This was when the 7th star malfunctioned and absorbed a strange red energy from his body. This was stopped by a strange blue pulse, but Darius already felt uneasy. He had a rough idea about what he had experienced but he was not ready to make his final decision yet.
Darius sighed and continued trying to manipulate each star. At first, he was very clumsy as he struggled to fill each star with an element, after all, Darius had only been a Spiritknight for a short amount of time. He still could not partition his Spiritual energy into different elements well enough. He could only control two elements at once. Under certain circumstances, it could be 3 thanks to boosts from his Spirit abilities.
After a while, he settled on filling the orbs with his two most familiar elements. The lightning element which produced electrical energy and the Thunder element which allowed him to manipulate sound waves, kinetic energy and vibration.
After a few more minutes of filling up the remaining stars with Thunder and Lightning-type Spiritual Essence, the 7 Stars Cloak faded into the background as if it became a disappearing mirage. This was the Secondary Skill from his Valour Step Paragon

Darius had already used the Helmet of Hades to register his details online as a virtual screen only he could see through the glasses appeared. He used his unique clearance granted by Didier, who was also a Ranger and logged in. He quickly looked up his own database so he could have a look at his abilities.

Thur's Indignation- A deity of a man with a hammer shouting to the skies above a sea during a Lightning infested storm. It also grants one compatibility with divinity and natural energy. Divinity is the bane of mortality and nature energy the bane of Demons.
Primary Skill:
Thur's Summons- The ability to make nature fight for the user using natural energy that usually only druids can use. Natural energy creates a storm and concentrates storm type energy, a domain-type boosting ability that temporarily increases one's affinity to Nature, Thunder, Water, Lightning and Life energy to be exact. It also gives one a small amount of divine energy, which is the bane of all mortality.

Darius was surprised by how detailed the report was. Skills he had not used were still unknown but it was quite close to the truth.
Darius then used the Helmet of Truth to look up the history of the Rangers as advised by Didier. This history was only released through tools connected to the Ranger Database which had all sorts of information. The Rangers were the first faction Darius had joined, and the reasons he had to join were outlined in this brief introduction of the past. Darius slowly read through the brief history and started to understand just how important the Rangers were, and how essential they were to him remaining free from the clutches of the noble families!
