Crawling through the tall grass, I move forward cautiously. I feel the earth shudder from the weight of the Tyranauts, but I ignore them as they ignore me. The forest of metal groaned from the earth’s protest, but that has nothing to do with what I am doing.

I am waiting for it to leave. It continues to feast upon the heart of a Drynog, the Drynog long dead from the attack of the Tyranaut.

I hear the sound of grass moving, but I know I never moved my legs. So who is coming to steal my leftovers? Who?

I peak over the tall grass to find a thing I’ve only seen when hunting the pack of Drynogs outside on the plains, beyond the forest of metal. I’ve even seen a single one of these things take down a Tyranaut, they’ve even killed my brethren that I’ve known all my life.

As far as I know, the thing is called a human. It had parts that weren’t made from metal, although when it attacks it uses our own bodies against us. They had weird, long and thin cables that blew in the wind, sometimes the cables appeared on their faces in short bursts.

Looking away from the human, I poke my head out from the grass, standing at my full height of a meter. I chirp towards the Tyranaut, the sound making the human stand still.

The Tyranaut looks up from my future meal, and turns to face the human. With its scanners, it should’ve noticed me as well, but I’m not a threat.. at least not to the Tyranaut.

It opens its jaws, the jagged teeth grinding together to produce a screeching sound that makes the human cringe, but that doesn’t stop the human from pulling the weapon off her back. Compared to the Tyranauts missile launchers, it was rather.. lacking.

But the human has the capability to kill my patron, and that, is exactly what I’m counting on right now.
