The time had come for the raid to start. A lot of people and journalists were present at the scene waiting for the awakeners to arrive. This is a historical moment not only for Zekron but for the whole world, since it’s the first ever attempt at raiding an A rank gate. People have a lot of expectations from the participants. However, they are also anxious, since the heroes might never come out alive from this.

Soon, the awakeners arrived, and it was time for them to enter the gate. Since this was an A ranked gate, only B ranks and above were participating in the raid. They were hesitant about taking even the B ranks, but due to shortage of manpower it was decided that B ranks should go in as well. Most of the B ranks had supporting roles to buff A and S ranks.

The significant figures who were participating in this raid were:

1. Joren – S rank and guild leader of Rockstar guild. Job – Frostborn Gunslinger.

*Frostborn Gunslinger is an advanced job Joren got after getting his ice elemental powers. Previously his job was sniper.

2. Vade Kliema – A rank and vice charman of ACZ. Job – Blazeborn Swordsman.

*Blazeborn Swordsman is an advanced job Vade got after getting his fire attribute. Previously his job was warrior.

3. Lucy Avian – A rank and guild member of Rockstar guild. Job – Mage. Attribute – Fire.

4. Kronan Wismur – A rank and guild member of Rockstar guild. Job – Tank. Attribute – Earth.

5. Zack – A rank and guild member of rockstar guild. Job – Healer. Attribute – Light.

6. There were some B ranked mages who specialized in buffs.

And so, it was time for the awakeners to enter the gate. The people and reporters waited for them patiently outside hoping that they would be successful in the raid. After a day, the awakeners came back, and it seemed that they were successful, but 2 B rankers had died in battle and others were also injured quite a lot. Even Joren seemed exhausted. Soon The Rockstar guild held a press conference and shared information about the A ranked Gate. He also said that it would be better if B ranks don’t participate in A or higher ranked gates. Although they help a lot but it’s hard for them to survive those powerful monsters.

Since this conference was broadcasted internationally, other countries also decided to raid the A ranked gates in their own country after getting the relevant information about the gate.

Meanwhile in some alley kids were bullying a kid.

“So, now that you are awakened you think you are a hero or something, huh!” a bully is cursing and assaulting the kid. “Everyone else has awakened as well. Even if you are stronger than before, you are still like an insect to me. Remember you place f#ck!ng bast@rd. Go back to where you came from cultist, you aren’t welcomed in our country.” And he continues to kick the kid in the gut. Coincidentally, Kyuma was passing by the area after getting his coffee from a nearby café and witnessed all this. At first, he hesitated to get involved, but he suddenly remembered his kids and saved the kid.

“Thank you! Uncle,” the kid said respectfully to Kyuma.

“What did they mean when they said you are a cultist?” Kyuma asked the kid.

“I was saved from Thiren a year ago by the rescue team of Zekron. They rescued other Zekron residents who were kidnapped, but they also rescued me who was doing labour work for the cult of Thiren. They even gave me the citizenship of Zekron, but people still see me as a part of the CoT. Honestly, I understand their feelings, so I don’t retaliate.”

“There’s no need for you to understand the feelings of a criminal when you are the victim here. Since you got citizenship of Zekron, you are now a citizen of our country. You should hold your head high when people like them belittle you,” Kyuma said to the kid.

The kid was awestruck to receive kindness from a rather scary looking man. He started to follow him.

“Hey kid, how long are you going to follow me? Go home now.”

“Uncle, I don’t have anyone at home waiting for me anyway. I am an orphan, you know. It’s not every day that I meet someone who treats me like a human. So I just want to be friends with you. I can help you in some ways if you want. I am an awakened you know. Anyways, stop calling me kid, my name is Caelus. What’s your name?”

“I don’t have any intention to be friends with a 19-year-old, so how about you go your way and I go my way,” Kyuma said to Caelus.

But Caelus didn’t show any signs of leaving Kyuma alone and followed him to his shabby apartment room.

“Wow, Uncle, you live here. It’s even worse than the place I am living at. I thought I was having a hard time, but you are in even a worse situation than an orphan. Just how are you making your living anyway? Do you have a job? Don’t tell me you are unemployed at that age. But earlier, you saved me from those awakened bullies easily, so I think you have awakened as well. What’s your rank Uncle?” Caelus just bombarded Kyuma with a ton of questions without even giving him a chance to answer any of them.

Kyuma was already regretting his decision to help Caelus.

“Listen kid! My name is Kyuma. And yeah, I am unemployed, and I live in this shabby room alone. I am an S rank. Now that you know I am so powerful, can you get lost before I erase your existence?”

“Yeah! Sure I am going. Happy! Hehe, the man claims himself to be an S rank. That’s the funniest thing I have heard in a while. If you are an S rank then I have a SSS rank. Anyways, see you again soon Kyuma Uncle.”

And with that Caelus had finally left him alone.
