Meanwhile, in the Pokemon Adventures Manga, the manga version of Hop was committing evil deeds.
“MWAHAHA!” Manga Hop laughs as he holds two Pokedexes between his fingers. “I’VE STOLEN HENRY AND CASEY’S POKEDEXES! NOW WHO WILL STOP ME?!?”
Manga Hop has just stolen the Pokedexes of his once-called friends, Henry and Casey. Manga Hop has been one of the main causes of the rise in crime in the Pokemon Adventures Manga, and he has a good reason for it. Manga Hop needs to raise the crime rate in order for the original Hop, Game Hop, to be able to combine their separate worlds in order to team up and join forces. Together, they plan to begin the second Hop War and stop everyone from calling them “Hot” once and for all.
Y, a teenage girl from the manga, spots Manga Hop as he’s making his declaration of theft. By her side, Blake, a cop from the manga, is watching Manga Hop closely. As a cop, his job is to keep his world safe from misdeeds. This is a good opportunity to catch Hop in the act and end his path through crime.
“I guess that’s Hot…” Y tenses as she sees the purple-haired evildoer. Manga Hop is a very dangerous villain to be around in her world.
Blake narrows his eyes as he focuses on Hop. “You mean Hop,” he corrects, “the INTERNATIONAL criminal!” Ever since Hop started his quest through evil, the crime rates in the Pokemon Adventures Manga have been through the roof!
Manga Hop, hearing their dilemma, looks back and catches the sight of Blake and Y. He raises his eyebrows in confusion. “Who are these weird people?” Manga Hop says to himself. He never bothers to stick around and memorize people’s faces when he commits crimes, so Manga Hop really only knew the names of people from Galar, his home region.
“Wait…” Manga Hop narrows his eyebrows in anger. Looking directly at Y, he yells, “DID YOU CALL ME HOT?!?”
Y freezes in place as she realizes her mistake. Only one thing happens to people who call Hop “Hot”, and she avoided Hop for this very reason.
“Wait!” Y begs, her words trembling as she puts her arms up in fear. “I didn’t know! I’m sorry!!”
Now, over the years Game Hop has been away, Manga Hop has been training his evil abilities. After spending night and day practicing on his skills, Manga Hop finally acquired the ability to blow someone up just by looking at them. No one who calls him “Hot” is going to be safe now.
Manga Hop looks Y straight in the eye, and he blows her up, resulting in an explosion and her disappearing out of both Hop and Blake’s sight.
Right after Y blew up, a brunette girl named Green from the manga dashes in on a Blastoise. Ruby, a fashionable trainer from the manga, and Platinum, a girl with a rich family from the manga, follow behind her. They all seem to be joining up to sabotage Manga Hop and retrieve the Pokedexes he stole.
“Man, Galar is a long jog from Kanto!” Green smiles as she wipes drops of sweat off her forehead. “Good thing I was able to ride Blasty,” she adds, with “Blasty” being the nickname of her Blastoise. Seeing Blake’s concerned expression, she thinks to herself, What did I miss?

Manga Hop jumps back in the surprise of seeing not one, not two, but three more pokedex holders. “THE WATER TYPE POKEDEX HOLDERS!?!” he recoils, eyes open in shock.
“Precisely!” Ruby winks, showing his own Pokedex to Hop. “I’m Ruby,” he replies, “the most fashionable trainer ever! But you knew that, right?” he added in a humble tone.
Manga Hop looks Ruby dead in the eye. “Who are you again?”
Magically, in response to this wonderful roast, a pair of pixel sunglasses fly from the sky and onto Hop’s face.
Ruby looks immensely upset. Tears well up in his eyes, and he sobs into his hands dramatically. Despite all he had done to become the most fashionable trainer ever, Ruby still hadn’t reached the fame he wanted. Why couldn’t people understand how much this meant to him?
Manga Hop, ignoring Ruby and still holding Henry and Casey’s Pokedexes, scratches his head bashfully. “Am I finally a water pokedex holder like you guys?” he asks as innocently as he can.
Green laughs at this. “You’re funny, Hop!” There was no way that Hop was serious, right?
Platinum shakes her head firmly. “No, Hop!” she sharply states. “You must return the Pokedexes to their rightful owners! Or else…” she threatens, hoping Hop would fall for her bluff.
Manga Hop, unsurprisingly, does. “WHA-?!” he exclaims in surprise. He needed a plan to get out of this mess to find Game Hop!
Blake, the cop from earlier, crosses his arms and looks at Hop with an unbroken gaze. “I’m a cop, Hop,” he states. “Return them, or you’re going to rot in jail!”
Hop stares at Blake for a second. Was he serious? There was no way that Hop was getting sent to jail, despite what anyone tried. Coming back to his senses, Hop counters the cop’s statement. “Shouldn’t the police be doing something more important?”
Blake, still not breaking his gaze, replies to Hop. “Like what, criminal?” he argues, emphasizing the word “criminal”.
“What about that redhead?” Hop motions over to a boy with long, red hair taking a walk and just happening to pass by. Fortunately for Hop, that boy is Silver, the son of the boss of one of the most evil organizations: Team Rocket. “Isn’t he a CRIMINAL, too?” he explains, mocking Blake’s tone and emphasizing the word “criminal” as well.
Silver, holding his Pokedex, stops in place and realizes that he has just run into a cop. Speechless, he stares at the group of people.
Blake finally looks away from Hop, glances at the redhead, realizes who he is, and settles his gaze on Platinum. “Platinum…” he blames. “I thought you told me that everybody here were good people. You liar!!!” Blake and Platinum had planned a sabotage on Hop, but with Silver’s appearance, it seems that the plan has backfired.
Platinum gasps as she sees a dash of purple run past her, realizing that the purple came from Hop’s hair. “IT WAS A DISTRACTION!” she says, directing Blake’s gaze to the speedy, purple-haired villain. “HOP’S GETTING AWAY!” she emphasizes with urgency in her voice.
As Green, Ruby, Platinum, and Blake dash around desperately trying to corner Hop once again, Manga Hop takes a chance and tries to escape. Dashing away, he brushes Blake’s shoulder as the cop takes in a sharp breath from frustration.
Manga Hop needs to get to Game Hop as quickly as he can and finally combine the Anime, Game, and Manga words again.
“Where is he?” Platinum asks, frantically looking around for the miscreant. To the group’s surprise, Hop is nowhere to be seen.
“Darn!” Ruby scoffs. “We lost him!”
