Hop stared incredulously at the brazen man who was apparently stuck in the wilderness along with him. Hop had no idea how big this area was, or how far away civilization was. But Leon had to have come from somewhere, right?
“Hey Leon,” Hop said, looking around. “You had to have come from somewhere, right? Do you have any idea where we should go to get out of here?”
Leon paused, thinking. “Hahaha! Don’t worry about being lost. I've had plenty of practice at being lost; I'm practically a pro at this point!” Leon said reassuringly. “Whenever I’m lost, I pick a direction and start walking. Let’s goooo!” Leon began marching towards… nowhere.
Hop was not assured, no matter how cheerful Leon was. He had no idea how to survive in the wilderness. He had wanted to go into boy scouts back in his old world, but his family could never afford it. He didn't even know how to start a fire if night fell…
Hop paused. He had almost forgotten that he might have explosion powers now. Could explosion powers help him camp in another world? That sounds like one of the titles of one of the light novels Hop liked to read at home.
“Alright!” Leon suddenly stopped moving. Hop, who had been walking behind him, almost ran into him. “I don’t know about you, but I’m hungry! Want some food?” Leon did not wait for an answer, and began taking some objects out of his bag, before somehow taking out an entire cooking pot.
Hop watched Leon as he quickly set up some sort of campsite. Leon began taking out some strange berries that Hop didn’t recognize and began putting them into the pot. But then, Leon suddenly stopped, and started looking along the ground for something.
“Erm, are you looking for something?” Hop asked Leon. ”What is it?”
“I’ve lost my extra pocket firewood. I can’t make food without firewood, so I’ll have to go look for extra wood.” Leon began running towards a densely wooded area, yelling something that sounded like “I’ll be back in about an half an hour!”

Hop had to resist the urge to facepalm. How could someone this childish be allowed anywhere near a mysterious forest in the middle of nowhere? He sighed, and sat down on a chair that Leon set out before-
“I’m back!” Leon said, running up behind Hop with a handful of small branches. Hop nearly jumped out of his skin.
“Don’t scare me like that!” Hop yelled, heart pounding. “I thought you were some giant monster or something trying to eat me! And that wasn’t half an hour, that was barely thirty seconds!!”
“Aw, Hop, don’t worry,” Leon said, dumping his firewood into a stone circle.”If I was a giant monster coming to eat you, you would have heard me coming.”
Before Hop could respond, Leon dashed off in the opposite direction, shouting something about wood again.
Hop glanced at the firepit Leon had made. There were only a few feeble twigs that Leon had put in there. Not nearly enough to cook something with.
He wondered how Leon was even going to start a fire; Leon seemed too erratic to be able to make one. Hop might be able to, however. He sat up and looked intently at the small pile of sticks. He imagined them getting hotter and hotter before bursting into flames. He thought of forest fires, volcanoes with bubbling lava, meteors falling into earth's atmosphere before bursting into flames-
The pile of twigs began to spark. There were tiny explosions that were weaving through the wood, causing them to spark and smoke, and eventually combusting. Hop leapt up from his seat in triumph. This meant that he could at least make a fire without Leon's help.
Hop could hear Leon coming back, and decided to keep his explosion powers a secret. He still didn’t know how Leon would react to someone who could set things on fire just by looking at them.
“Hey Hop, I’m back!” Leon looked at the fire. ”Oh nice, you got the fire started! I was just going to have Charizard do that, but I guess you got to it first!”
Before Hop could question what a charizard was, Leon whipped out some rice and began stewing something. He added the extra wood to Hop’s small fire, and then slammed a pot on top of the stewing stand he had set up. Leon threw berries and meat into the pot before stirring vigorously. Before Hop knew it, Leon was handing him a plate full of steaming hot curry.
