Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Back at the hotel, I messaged the manager: "Prepare tools for me, extended ones."

The handheld is a pistol, the short one is a light machine gun, also known as a submachine gun, the long one is a sniper rifle, and the extended one is a high-powered sniper rifle with a long-range scope. Of course, it's not a rocket launcher, that's used for tanks and armored vehicles, I don't need such a powerful weapon yet, I've only used it a few times during training and almost got a concussion.

I must ensure that my sniping point is at least 800 meters away from point A to prevent that special forces soldier from reacting quickly after I shoot, finding my target at the first instance, and informing others to cut off my escape route.

I asked the manager to send me the local weather conditions for the past week.

Just after hanging up, L called, saying that Tiger's behavior changed when I was gone, strutting around confidently, acting like a parade at home, giving her attitude. When you're around, you act all innocent, but once you're gone, your true colors show. Hold on, let me put the phone to its ear.

I chuckled at the thought of Tiger strutting around elegantly at home. I heard a "meow" on the other end of the line. I almost burst out laughing and told Tiger not to provoke her because if she doesn't feed you, you'll go hungry and you can't tell me she didn't feed you, so you'll be the one at a loss.

L chimed in, "A villain's heart betrays a gentleman's belly!" Tiger meowed again.

L shared some good news, "This Saturday, old A will be taking his family to the park. It's said that in such situations, he usually spends time alone with his family, a good time to strike~"

After hanging up, I realized it was indeed a rare opportunity. Without that special forces soldier, my only worry was resolved, making things a hundred times simpler. But what's the difference between acting there and at his place?

After a minute of indecision, I decided to stick to the original plan. Remembering my own words, even in this bloody profession, one can still be like an artist.

The next day, I went to the manager to check the tools, and to my surprise, my manager had been replaced. After verifying with the company, it was indeed a temporary assignment.

The new tool manager was a young boy around my age, who looked a lot like Harry Potter, with big round eyes and a mischievous smile always on his face.

Upon seeing me, he winked, snapped his fingers, and said, "Wait, I've got something good for you!"

I sighed, thinking he was quite British in his mannerisms. He brought out two rolls of camouflage canvas from the back room and laid them out on the table.

I saw the first one and couldn't believe it; he had actually brought me a rocket launcher. A domestic M99, held in his hands, looked extremely disproportionate to his size.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

Harry Potter said, "How about this? Its performance rivals the American Barrett, strong and powerful. But we must support our domestic products. It's semi-automatic, with a range of 1500 meters, high accuracy, and great power. Even if you miss the heart or head, hitting the upper body would be fatal."

I replied, "Bro, I need something extended. Analyze the target data to determine the suitable tool. We don't have tanks as targets, so what's the use of this rocket launcher? Alright, put it down; it looks like it's a struggle for you to carry that 20 kilograms."

Harry Potter snapped again and said, "This is for you to end the battle with one shot. No matter where you hit, it will leave a bowl-sized hole. Even if you miss the heart or head, as long as you hit the upper body, the target will have a hard time surviving."

He glanced at my expression, paused, and continued, "If you insist on your opinion, then use the other one."

The other one was a domestic Type 79 sniper rifle, basically a copy of the Soviet SVD, very similar in appearance and performance, but with slightly lower accuracy. It had been improved later, with a magazine capacity of 10 rounds and an effective range of 1000 meters.

I said, "This is enough; we don't need the rocket launcher."

Harry Potter shook his head and carried the rocket launcher back to the room.

I asked about the container. Harry Potter took out a widened box used for pool cues and complained, "The barrel of this gun cannot be disassembled from the body, making it inconvenient to carry." He then proceeded to pack the gun into the box.

At that moment, the manager called to inform me that except for strong winds the day after tomorrow, the weather for the rest of the week would be normal.

Next, I needed to pinpoint one of A's daily whereabouts, choose the operation location, create an opportunity for him to be exposed outdoors for an extended period, find a hidden sniper point, and plan the retreat route.

After receiving the upcoming whereabouts of A from the manager, I gave up on tracking him.

Early the next day, I started surveying the locations listed in City B one by one. By late afternoon, I had visited all the locations on the list.

There were plenty of potential locations for action, but not many suitable ones.

I marked the feasible locations from the list and revisited them before dark. Finally, I settled on Location X.

X was a mix of a wholesale market and a farmer's market, back to back, with a parking lot in between. Although there was a dense crowd, people mainly stayed within the markets' boundaries.

The market had a south-facing gate and a north-facing gate, with fewer people in the parking lot as most entered and exited through the main gates, connecting to the back entrances of the two markets.

About 800 meters from Location X was a 12-story residential building to the southeast of X. This standalone building had walls worn by years of rain, indicating its age.

There weren't many security personnel at the building, mostly elderly residents, likely retired employees of some organization.

I went up to the 11th floor corridor to overlook Location X, getting a complete view of the area. There were no buildings obstructing my view, and although this 12-story building was the tallest in the vicinity, it didn't stand out too much. That's it.

I noticed that both households on the 12th floor had their doors securely locked. One house had the couplet fallen to the ground, covered in thick dust, while the lock on the other door was rusty. These two houses were definitely unoccupied, which was perfect.

From outside the building, I saw that two windows on the 12th floor faced northwest, so I didn't need to climb to the rooftop.

Around 4 p.m. the day after tomorrow, A will arrive at Location X. I need to be at the sniper point two hours early to set up the ambush.

For some reason, I'm feeling a bit nervous and uneasy this time, even though I've chosen the location and direction. There's still a hint of uneasiness in my heart.
