Felix
“Oh, Felix,” Lacey m***s from astride me. I grip her curvy h**s in my hands, loving how soft she feels under my calloused fingers. Her h**s moved in an enticing rhythm over my pelvis, setting the pace for her pleasure and mine. She threw her head back in ecstasy, reveling in the feeling of our copulation. I growl appreciatively as I watch her coming undone above me, her stomach muscles beginning to clench as she comes closer to release.
I reach up, trailing my hands down the soft skin of her breasts, perfectly perky and supple. I’m close as she speeds up her movement, coming down on me with more force. I let her have her fill how she wants, enjoying the front row seat. Another m**n escapes her delightful mouth, and I know she is right there. I grip her h**s again, aiding her pursuit just enough. Only a few strokes later and her walls were clutching tightly around my shaft, her juices releasing along with her long, melodic m**n. I continued her rhythm, pumping through her o****m but quickly found my own.
As we both came back from our peaks, she looked down at me with her lightening eyes. She smiled sweetly. “Maybe we should get some actual packing done,” she said. I shrugged from my position beneath her. I didn’t exactly have any complaints about how we have spent most of our time today. “Let’s at least order some food. I haven’t worked out this hard in a long time,” she giggled.
She climbed off me, and I turned my head to watch her h**s sway towards the bathroom. She pulled my shirt over her head as she went. I reached up and rubbed my neck, feeling the two little bumps of her mark on my skin. It was far different than the magically placed one that gradually faded after Stella’s passing. She put it there out of jealousy, my tricky little witch. She couldn’t mark me the way I could her, and she didn’t like it. About a year ago, I noticed that it was gone entirely.
My phone rang from the floor, where it was still in the pocket of my pants. I sat up, swinging my legs over the bed. I bent over to retrieve my phone, answering it as I stood. “Yea,” I grunted.
“Felix, you need to come back,” Jacob sounded on the other end as I moved towards the bathroom. I needed to clean up before putting my pants back on.
“Why?”
“There was another rogue attack.”
“How many?”
“Around 100 this time.” That was much more than we had been seeing.
“Injuries?” I questioned.
“Only one, but…” he trailed off.
“Spit it out.” I stood in the doorway to Lacey’s bathroom. She was mussing her hair in the mirror, still only wearing my shirt. She eyed me through the mirror, giving me a beautiful smile.
“The Alpha and Beta children were kidnapped by the rogues.” The slightly joyous mood I was in completely vanished.
“Repeat that,” I growled into the phone.
“There was an attack on one side of the territory while more rogues snuck in on another. We didn’t know-”
“Enough!” They let those children be taken. Our future Alpha was in the hands of rogues.
“How long have they been missing?”
“A few hours. Liam and Damien have already left to track them down,” he explained quickly.
“Luna?” I questioned.
“She just left with Lily to go visit the wounded in the clinic.”
I growled again. “Do not let her heal him!” I shouted. Azalea’s heart was way too big for her fragile body. She is far too pregnant to handle healing another wolf right now.
“Right,” Jacob said. He clearly forgot about her ability. It was my job to care for her.
“I’ll be there as soon as I can,” I said, hanging up the phone. Lacey’s face dropped, and she turned around to face me.
“What’s going on?” she asked.
“Rogue attack,” I said.
“Is someone hurt? Who is missing? Who is healing who?” She spat questions at me. So many questions. She always wants to talk. I sighed.
“We need to hurry this up. I need to get back right away,” I told her.
“Are you going to tell me what is going on?” she asked stubbornly, crossing her arms. I grabbed a washcloth from the countertop where the clean towels were piled. I turned around to leave the bathroom, wiping at the fluids that covered my pelvis.
“Around 100 rogues attacked the pack. There is one injured wolf currently in the pack clinic, but the bigger problem is that the Alpha and Beta’s children were taken,” I linked her as I moved about, fetching my pants.
“That is terrible!” Lacey said, following behind me now. “But what did you say about healing?”
I let out another sigh. She just met Azalea a couple of weeks ago; she has no idea about her special gift or her lack of wolf. I looked around the half-packed apartment. We could be out of here tonight if we hurried, although I do not believe she has spoken to her former Alpha yet. I turned back around to my mate.
“I need to go back to help with things. There are some things about our Luna specifically that you don’t know. I will tell you everything if we can finish packing and be out of here tonight,” I linked her. I found it much easier to communicate this way. Words just don’t work for me.
She nodded her head. “Alright. This seems important. But we’re having Thai food tonight since it will probably be a long time before I can get good Thai take-out living at the packhouse.”
Begrudgingly, I nodded. She wanted that stuff when we first got here, and I could smell it before she even opened the door to the delivery person. How she ate it with the stench it gave off, I still do not know. She did this little wiggly dance while she ate it, though, so I know she enjoyed it.

“Luna, I wasn’t expecting to see you. Is everything alright?” Doctor Ron asked me as I walked into the clinic. Lily and Sean were with me, and his eyes traveled between all of us.
“I would like to see the wounded wolf, please,” I said nicely. Doctor Ron gave me a worried look but nodded his head. He murmured something to the nurse at the desk before waving for us to follow him. He led us to one of the treatment rooms mainly used for major injuries. There was a small window looking into the room next to the door. He stopped outside the room, and we all looked in.
The injured wolf was lying on the bed, a sheet covering his lower half. There were some scratches on his chest, and the dirt had been cleaned away. He was hooked up to an IV and looked to be sleeping.
“What happened?” I asked.
“It looks like Hiram’s attacker bit him, but it isn’t a wolf bite,” he explained. Confusion knit my brows.
“Then what bit him? I thought the attack was all rogues,” I said.
“Exactly. I am not sure. I am going to do some research now that he is stable,” he said.
“How long until he wakes up?” I ask. A strange look passed between Sean and Doctor Ron.
“Um, we aren’t sure,” Doctor Ron answered. “He isn’t healing at the moment.”
“How can that be?”
“We don’t really know. I can’t find a reason for it physically. I have a few guesses, but I don’t want to comment on any of my conjecture.”
I nodded my head as I watched inside the room. Everyone stood still for a moment, probably waiting to see what I would do. I turned, stepping around everyone and pulling the room door open. “Lea, what are you doing?” Lily called after me. The door closed before she could stop it. I walked over to the warrior’s bedside. He looked like he was sleeping, but there was an uncomfortable expression across his face. Why wasn’t he healing? I looked at his shoulder where the bite mark was. It was distended and bruising. I ran my finger along it curiously. I was far too pregnant to heal him safely; I knew that. Maybe I could just get the process started.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes as I laid my hand over his. “Luna, stop,” a voice said from the doorway.
“Lea, you can’t,” Lily said. I looked over to see Sean and Lily standing side by side inside the room with Doctor Ron behind them. I narrowed my eyes at them and returned to concentrating. I tried to focus on the wound and just pushing his healing to begin. Every time I used my gift, I could feel the injury almost. It was like a coldness I could reach out and warm with my own energy. I could feel where someone was physically hurting and concentrate my own energy to fix it. I couldn’t feel anything. There wasn’t warmth or coldness over the warrior at all; it was as if nothing was there even though I was physically holding his hand.
The room was quiet and tense around me. None of them wanted to stop me, but I was also sure they were confused about why nothing was happening. I was too. I opened my eyes and scowled. “I can’t do anything….” I murmured.
“Wait, what?” Lily said.
“I can’t even feel him. There is just nothing there to find and heal,” I said, turning to her. She was giving me a skeptical look. Sean just looked irritated.
“We should go back to the packhouse. The Alpha would want you as safe as possible in case anything else happens,” he said dryly.
“Fine,” I say, slightly annoyed. I want to know why I can’t heal him. I look over at Doctor Ron. “Will you let me know as soon as you have any ideas about what bit him? I find it very odd that I can’t heal him in any way….”
“Of course, Luna. I will do everything I can for him,” he said.
Liam
Damien and I caught up with the first wolves sent out to track the kids quickly. We waited for the others to join us before everyone moved forward. The rogues only had about an hour’s head start on us, and with four children in tow, that wasn’t much. We were still picking up traces of the kids as we went so, we knew they also were not masking them.
Damien and I debated back and forth about the motive these rogues could have for taking our children. Was it dumb luck that they chose our children? Was this targeted? Did they wait for us to leave our pack territory before coming after them?
We moved further and further away from our pack, following the crumbs of scent we could find. We barely stopped, pushing the pace of all the warriors. We couldn’t let them get any further ahead of us. Suddenly, Delilah’s scent got stronger. Damien and I locked eyes, both of us in wolf form.
“They’re close,” I linked everyone, receiving a murmur of agreeance. We fanned out, slowing our pace slightly to make sure we headed in the right direction. Leo’s scent got stronger then Junior’s and Lucas’s as well. We were really close, close enough that if he tried, Junior would be able to link us. Our whole team slowed to a stop, everyone waiting on orders now that we could smell them so clearly.
“We will proceed with quiet caution,” Damien commanded everyone. “I want to know exactly how many there are between the children and us. We need to do this quickly, and we need to make sure the children are saved from witnessing as much of the bloodshed as possible.”
“Once the children are safe, happy hunting,” I added darkly. No one would survive today. No one who dares lay a finger on my family will live to talk about it.
“Let’s fan out to circle the area. You know you are far enough when their scents get weaker. Move,” Damien commenced our rescue mission.
