Chapter 3: My Last Day of School

"You want me to join your academy," I asked.

"Yup," Hiroyuki said with a smile.

"No, I'm good," I responded. "What, why?"

"I have my family and there's no way in hell I'm going to leave them," I answered.

"One day you're going to leave eventually," Hiroyuki stated.

"Yeah, I know, so I will do everything I can right now before leaving," I explained.

There was a silence and I was about to speak however, Hiroyuki did before me.

"So you're willing to throw away your future for a family your not even related to," Hiroyuki asked. "Yeah."

"Why are they so important to you," Hiroyuki questioned.

"Long story short, they're the reason I decided to keep on living in this world," I responded.

"Then tell me this, you grow up, maybe fall in love, grow old together, and have a family. However, would you want to die here without being known and then forgotten or die being a mage protecting the world your family can live in right now," Hiroyuki explained.

Sudden memories popped up about me rambling about becoming the greatest mage that everyone would be inspired by. Memories I want to forget so badly, but deep down inside, I myself knew that I want to remember these memories. However, my family today is what's important. I can't be chained up and keep living in the past. Today is the day I completely forget about it. By rejecting his offer, I can continue to live with my family and slowly forget about my past.

"Okay, then tell me something. I become big and well known then what. I can retire, try to live a good life but how are you so sure that the higher ups wont send assassins to kill me," I asked.

"What the hell am I saying," I questioned myself.

"How do you know about that," Hiroyuki questioned. "How could I not know, after all, that's exactly how my parents died."

"Why did I tell him that? No way, deep down do I really want to leave," I continued questioning myself.

  "I see," Hiroyuki said.

"Well, you don't have to worry about that. A few years ago I was able to expose everyone that did such a crime. This was so my friends can live a peaceful life but, I was too late, they were already assassinated. I started to loath the higher ups and was filled with rage. So I trained everyday and became a world class mage that everyone knows. With enough influence I was able to make people retire and live a happy life without worrying about there life being taken," Hiroyuki further explained.

"Who was your parents," Hiroyuki asked. "My mom was Ayako and my dad was Atsushi."

"God dammit shut up already, why am I doing this," I thought to myself.

Hiroyuki was in a small period of shock ans smiled a bit.

"So you're there kid," Hiroyuki said softly. "What, do you know my parents."

"Yeah, after all the friends I was talking about were them," Hiroyuki answered.

"I even have a picture of us three," Hiroyuki said with a big smile.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

He showed me a picture of all three of them smiling and for some reason I was filled with joy. A feeling I thought I would never feel about my past. Isn't it pathetic? I just told myself I was going to forget about my past but here we are. I got feeling of wanting to know more about my real parents. I was secretly cursing myself however, I still made a smile to small to be noticed. I looked towards Hiroyuki and started talking.

"Fine, I will join your academy," I answered.

Hiroyuki got an overwhelming joy before he could speak I cut him off.

"But, you will give my family the money to live a comfortable life," I demanded. "Done I will give them twenty million yen."

"One more question, the top magic academy's only has a year of high school. Are you low on men that you have to resort to using inexperienced people," I questioned.

"If there was a different person right here he would have said yes. However, my school is different. Magic academy's are on another level compared to colleges. You need to comprehended what college students learn in just a year. Not to mention the training you will be going through. If you can't keep up with the school then you aren't fit to be a mage," Hiroyuki explained.

"I am very pleased with that answer of yours Mr. Hiroyuki," I stated.

"How do you know about my magic though," I asked. "I asked a boy for a copy of the video he recorded of you fighting."

"I see, then you probably know my weakness right," I asked again.

"Yeah, you can only use your powers for one minute max," Hiroyuki answered.

"You can pass that barrier by training," Hiroyuki added. "You think I didn't already try that."

"Don't worry my training will definitely work," Hiroyuki said with a smile, with various hidden meanings

"Anyway it seems your family is finally here," Hiroyuki pointed out.

Chika, Chiyoko, and my parents burst through the door worried about me. Chiyoko leaped onto me and was crying. I was quite puzzled because she really didn't care about me.

"Are you okay I heard you got attacked from mages," Chiyoko said softly.

"I was worried you idiot why did they attack you," Chiyoko asked.

"Hey that's not fair Chiyoko," Chika yelled.

Chika then jumped on me and there both hugging me.

"They have a brother complex don't they," Hiroyuki asked.

"Yeah, they do," my parents agreed.

"He isn't exactly good looking, what's so special about him," Hiroyuki questioned.

"Who knows, maybe our children are just weird," the parents answered.

"Anyways, my name is Hiroyuki," Hiroyuki said, smiling.

"I'm Daichi and this is my wife Ayumi," Daichi greeted himself.

  "What's a brother complex," I asked.

"Nothing," Chika and Chiyoko yelled simultaneously.

"But I really want to know," I begged. "We did not spend the past years keeping you away from anime and manga just to fail in the end."

  "This is unfair," I pouted.

"Whatever, anyway we have the last day of school tomorrow," I noted.

"Also, I'm going to a world ranking magic academy," I stated. "What!"

"Wait, you don't even have magic," Chiyoko stated.

"Hiroyuki can you show them the video," I asked.

"Are you sure, it's quite disturbing," Hiroyuki said.

"Don't worry it's just proof I can use magic," I explained. "I understand."

Hiroyuki showed everyone the video and they were so confused the entire time.

"You were hiding the fact you could use magic," Chika yelled.

"  Why, do you not trust us," Chiyoko pouted.

"No, it's just quite a depressing story about why I hid my magic," I stated.

"When are you leaving," my mom asked. "Right after school."

"Then we are having a good bye party for you," my dad said loudly.

Everyone and I went home from the hospital and had a party. It was the next day and it was quite puzzling that everyone was staring more then usual. I sat down in first period and I was greeted by a group of people.

"You were hiding your magic this entire time," a boy yelled.

"Amazing, you're really good at fighting," another person said.

"Hey, why were you hiding your magic," a girl asked.

"What, dammit it seems that boy Hiroyuki got the video from is attending this school," I thought.

"Wait, if they saw the video why the hell are they so happy," I asked myself. "I just killed four people, and all they care about is my magic!"

Before I could continue thinking, Daiki started walking in the room and went straight to me.

"Don't think you're so strong just because you killed a bunch of extra's," Daiki said. "Yeah yeah, I already know."

"Last period we are going to fight you understand," Daiki demanded.

"I see, whatever, I honestly don't care," I agreed to his proposal.

Daiki walked out of the room filled with rage. During the entire day I was hearing rumors about Daiki bragging that he got accepted to the only magic school in this small town. The day went by until it was finally the last period of the day. The fight against Daiki.

"So Daiki and Hiroto will be fighting today," the teacher said.

"Can both participates enter the arena," the teacher asked.

We both walked in and there was Daiki full of confidence.

"Well then, let the match begin," the teacher yelled.
