Act.7 Hope “Unless I die, you’ll be alright”

“Welp, what are we going to do? Anything you have in your mind?”

“Nope, speaking of, how is Cassandra going?”

“Eh, pretty much nothing. What would Helm do with my body?”

In the out world, Helm is quite frustrated with the True Zero state.

“Those two idiots really do make a good team, no? Aside from the body, it’s all quite developed. Speaking with this voice is quite annoying though. Well, I have to do with this for now.”

“You good, man? You suddenly stopped. And what about going to see Liz? You seemed to be in a hurry.”

“I’m fine, mate.”

“Huh? You seem to be pretty chill with it. This might be the chilliest you’ve ever been when it came to women. Good for you, man.”

*So those two are awkward with people, eh? Kinda sad, but it is what it is*

As he leaves to see Liz in the northern base, he realizes something quite intriguing – he can change his accent. While it is true that Will has a neutral accent, he could change his voice and accent. As Helm wasn’t really a fan of Will’s default soft voice, he decides to change to a more suitable tone – the 3rd voice.

Along the side of the road, he spots a pink carnation. Upon closer look, his inner florist picks up and places it in his chest pocket and he walks to the northern base with a grin on his face.

At 51-1’s Northern base, the situation is quite hectic. As their report is well off from their initial date, the entire base is sweating salt to make the report underway. Right as Helm enter through the front door, Liz bumps him and both fall aground.

“You good, mate? How’s the report going, eh?”

“Not much is going. Our branches’ reports are off by a huge margin. How about you, Will? This report is gathered seasonally from every office.”

“Oh, we’ve already handed ours in. As we’re only the elite group, we don’t have much to do so we file our documents and archive them in a neatly order. After all, we are the Archive Base.”

“Oh ho, so that’s how it is. Well then, what is your business with me? I’m quite busy with this so please make it quick.”

“Here, this is a carnation – my favorite flower. It looks just like you, mate – pretty and minimal. Anyways, I’m here to help you after I heard you were in quite distress.”

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

*papers shuffling* “Well, that was hell.”

After 4 hours of messengers and mails, they finally put together a report for Liz’s office.

“Expenses, income, human resource info and all their receipts, these would be all, no?”

“No, you forgot one, the debt – the one I owe you now. You were quite fast with these documents, triply so if you were compared to me. So, what do you want for your reward?”

“What about dinner? I’m quite famished after today’s hard work.”

“Well then, where shall we eat?”

“No idea. Do you have any suggestions?”

“How about 51-6, they have a restaurant and we get a full discount.”

“Eh? They have a restaurant? I knew they had a contract with food suppliers but they have a full restaurant?”

“So, are you coming? I have been there a couple of times and their food quite nice.”

“Sure, why not? I’ll pick you up at nine, 3 hours from now, how about that?”

“Quite.”

As the southern base of 51-1 is a taxi park, or rather a car rental company, most of the district’s personnel drives their personal car. As for the other districts, they take the bus everywhere. Exception being the 13 tailed fox as they have 3 company cars bought from 51-1.

As Helm gets ready to pick Liz up, Liam and Will are just chilling in the Limbo.

“And, Blackjack” wins Liam.

“So that’s how it is. It’s quite impressive that you can materialize a full deck of cards from your imagination. I feel like you’re cheating.”

“Eh? Why would I do that?”

“I don’t know. My guess is as good as yours, mate.”

“It wouldn’t be fun if I won all the games, no? I’m just lucky when gambling, mate.”

“Well, that’s that, now what?”

“No idea. I wonder what Helm is doing with the body.”

“Yeah, speaking of, do you still have droopy shoulders?”

“Yes, and? I can maneuver well with that physique. It’s the only thing that made me the CO of 51-3.”

“Welp, Helm might’ve possibly fixed your shoulders, now. And you’re welcome for that.”

“I’m fucking what?”

At the rendezvous, Will picks up Liz up and goes to District 6’s restaurant, The 13 tailed Kitsune.

“Three past nine – such a deceiving hour. Nothing much goes on in the night yet there is this much traffic. Welp, I guess it can’t be helped”

“We’re almost there. And this has the company serial number so you won’t need to pay a toll.”

As Liz pulls out a pistol:

*rack* “So, how were you able to get into Will’s body, mate?”

“Oh, so you do use a gun. Your doctrine states that you need to kill minding stealth and efficiency, no? If you kill me here and now, you’ll also kill Will or am I wrong?”

“Yes. But if I do this, the Will I know will come out.”

As she points the barrel up against her neck, Helm calmly says:

“Elizabeth the pure, this body is of four individuals. Even if you know Will, you’ll only know the half of the half of this body. And, unless you want to die without purpose, please put the gun down. I as well as the other three have the dream same as yours: “I will be someone”. This is our motivation for the prosperity of this body. You and I are the same, Liz. So please, surrender your will to die and be happy whilst you’re at it.”

“Well, that sure isn’t the Will I know, I surrender. I’m hungry as well. Take the turn left into the next street and turn right on the 3 way, that’ll lead you into a garage door. That’s the hardware warehouse of District 6 – the Big Backup Base. Honk 7 times with a 3 second interval.”

“With pleasure” says Helm with a slight grin on his face.
