Chapter 2: the Dogs Den (2nd draft)

Timeskip:

The Watch Dogs Mecenary group is a ragtag collection of just about all shady professions, ranging from transport and smuggling, to spying and assassination. They make their largest profit by being a middle man for contracts, some representatives will hang around shady places like a Huts palace and hand out contracts, taking small commissions for themselves of course, excluding these "commissioners", there are only around 40 working mercenaries that actually do the jobs themselves, and they like to hang around their own "pack". In their free time, they can often be found getting drunk at their base on the Tythe system in the Savereen Sector. Although it is more of a small canteen in the middle of a desert with few defenses, not even the Empire knows where the base is located. The canteen is nameless, but is referred to as the Dogs Den. It made is of a brown metal, somewhat corroded, and has multiple stories. Inside is a bar and a stair case leading to the second and third stories, that have member exclusive access, of course, only members come here any way.

When a ship approaches, one is able to hear the engines outside. This is what the 20 or so people in the canteen are experiencing at the moment. To those who are new to the sound of ship engines, they almost always sound the same, but to those who listen closely, certain differences can be heard, and as the ship outside gets closer, some of the veterans of the group tense up, as if they are nervous, some stand and move, some send glances towards the door, others take efforts to completely ignore the incoming ship. The newer members see their seniors reactions and the more curious ones ask questions.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

"What's going on, is the Empire here!" A young Twi'lek asks an older human, the old man just laughs "The Empire, here, ha!" This calms the Twi'lek girl down a little but her curiosity compels her to contenue, "Then, who is it", "It's one of our scarier members, she is the co-leader of this group as a whole, and the only person here who is not part of a pack. She takes a lot of assassination, escorting, and and anti-piracy contracts, and she likes to dissapear from time to time, says she's looking for something.", a look of intrigue appears on the Twi'leks face, "what is she looking for?" "Don't know, but last time some one tried to dig into her personal life, we had to drag him to a bacta tank to heal him, so I wouldn't ask, just keep to yourself, and she won't bother with you got it, ok, go look for a good job, preferably a smuggling one, those pay good." With that, the girl knows that the conversation was over, so she nodded and left to go find a contract the her boss would like from the data base.

While walking through the canteen she heard people whispering gossip to one another, all had different tales and hearsay,

"Did you hear..."

"One time she boarded an imperial transport to assassinate the commander on board"

"Didn't she also impersonate the commander afterwards"

"There was one time"

Such conversations reignited the young girl's curiosity, and as she reached the terminal, she decided to turn around and find a good place to look

By now, the ship had landed and who ever had landed was walking down the ramp and towards the door. It was so silent, you could hear the footsteps outside.
