Suddenly Olivia, Dongmei, and Martina found themselves in a strange space. They had only closed their eyes for a moment before being teleported here.
Knowing that this might be the work of the great god Khirotsan’ahn the almighty, the three women weren’t surprised.
They calmly observed their surroundings in amazement.
Solidified light served as the ground. It emitted an indescribable beauty, spending warmth and security.
Beyond the light a dark space could be seen. Colorful specks of light adorned it, giving the darkness a mysterious aura.
But the most surprising for the three grandmas were the many creatures in their surroundings.
They were overwhelmed as they mustered all these beings. They saw demons and angels, tiny ants and massive whales, dwarfs and elves.
Multiple voices reached their ears as these creatures conversed amongst themselves. At this point they weren’t even surprised that they could understand all the alien languages.
Suddenly three beings approached the old ladies. Their eyes lit up as they recognized the strangers to be humans.
“Haha, finally some fellow humans. We were already losing face in front of the other races!”, laughed a warrior in heavy armor kindly.
“Nice to meet you. We are Olivia, Martina, and Dongmei.”
The three grandmas looked confused as a woman in a wide robe bowed towards them.
“It as our honor to meet you, seniors. This little magus is called Lionara.”
Dongmei nodded in satisfaction. Finally, a youngster showing the necessary respect.
“Runarm.”, introduced a hooded woman coldly.
“Seniors, don’t mind her. That’s just how she is. My name is Turant by the way.
Have you just passed the trials?”
“Yes.”, answered Olivia. “We were suddenly teleported here. Can you tell as what this place is?”
“This is the waiting room. The great god will summon us when he is in the mood. Meanwhile we can think about our wishes here.”
While the three grandma’s faces fell, they noticed not a trace of annoyance on the other heroes. Rather their eyes were even showing reverence to the great god letting them wait here.
“So, how long have you been here?”, asked Dongmei.
“Oh it’s not that bad.”, answered Lionara. “About a year. We had a lot of time to finalize our wishes.
For example, I want my teacher’s tower to be rebuilt and protected forever!”
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“Godly dagger!”, exclaimed Runarm coldly but with a trace of excitement.
“I want my empire to rule the world! What about you, seniors?”
Turant was confused as he looked at the three old faces. They didn’t have the happiness one would expect.
Suddenly Olivia gritted her teeth angrily as she shouted:
“Impudence! We should wait here for a year?!”
“Right!”, echoed Martina. “I will file a complaint.”
“I knew we should have gone to the southern dragon king’s palace instead!”, mumbled Dongmei.
The other human heroes couldn’t believe their ears. Were those seniors complaining about the almighty? How regrettable. They should have warned the old ladies.
The last time someone complained they have been waiting in this room for twenty years. This even forced them to change their wish as their family died from an enemy attack in the meantime.
Those poor seniors, they…
Wait, where did the seniors go?!
Under the disbelieving eyes of the surrounding heroes the three grandmas had suddenly vanished.
What was going on? Was complaining suddenly useful?
With those thoughts in mind a small ruckus spread. More and more heroes first gingerly than brazenly complained about the long waiting time.
Suddenly the whole space shook. All the heroes dropped to their knees. They instantly shut up.
The three grandmas didn’t know about the commotion. They were suddenly teleported away again, appearing in another dark space.
A strange feeling engulfed their body as they floated in the void. Only a single massive sun remained in front of them.
Shortly after their appearance a majestic voice spread through the space.
“Welcome, heroes of Earth. I am Khirotsan’ahn. Your trials surprised me greatly. You proved your bravery, intelligence, empathy, and many more qualities a real hero should have. I gladly grant you the three wishes you deserve. Choose wisely!”
They great god waited patiently as the three grandmas took in the situation. Even until this moment they still had had some doubts. All of this could still be a dream.
The three heroes looked into each other’s eyes. They nodded at each other. Finally, Dongmei breathed in deeply before taking a few steps forward.
“Hero Li Dongmei. With your masterful music you have easily solved the second trial. Your melodies touched even wild beasts. You shall receive whatever you wish for. Eternal youth? Love? Power? State your wish!”
Listening to the godly voice, Dongmei smiled slightly. All those offers sounded tempting, but she had already made up her mind long ago. Her voice slightly hoarse, she spoke with determination:
“I wish for Olivia’s son-in-law to get healthy again!”
Behind her the old American woman trembled slightly. Tears welled in her eyes. She silently whispered: “Dongmei…”
A short silence ensued before Khirotsan’ahn spoke again.
“Your wish has been fulfilled!”
With a smile on her face Dongmei slightly bowed in thanks before turning around and walking back. The three friends’ eyes met but nothing more had to be said.
Next it was Olivia’s turn to step forwards.
“Hero Olivia Thomson. With cookies baked with love you easily solved the first trial. Your delicious deserts even moved a rock giant to tears. You shall receive whatever you wish for. Money? Strength? A giant mansion? State your wish!”
After those words Olivia hesitated even less than Dongmei. Since her family was already healthy, what more could she wish for? Tears still in her eyes she announced:
“I wish for Martina’s grandchild to recover from her illness!”
Hearing this, all the ladies were now close to tears. A lively face appeared in Martina’s mind. Could she really see this happy smile again?
Olivia turned around, gratefully smiling at her friends. Chaotic emotions hit the three women. How lucky they were to meet such wonderful people during those trials.
Out of patience Martina quickly walked forward.
“Hero Martina Müller. With your heartfelt story you have easily passed the third trial. You…”
“Alright, alright. We know.”, interrupted the old lady with reddened eyes.
“I wish for Dongmei’s mountain to be full of life again.”
A soft sigh echoed through the space.
“You really prove what it means to be heroes even until this point. Your wish shall be granted!”
Nodding lightly Martina turned around. The three old ladies sobbed lightly. They took each other’s hands, not knowing if they would ever see their new friends again. Such a strong bond had formed between them in only a short time.
Suddenly a golden light flashed. The three grandmas vanished. Only a golden sun remained, reminiscing about the three heroes of Earth.
