Rodrigo sat cross legged atop the shattered remnants of the cot that had been provided for him. Surrounding him were thousands of melted rat corpses. These corpses piled atop each other, their skin was melted and fused together.
Rodrigo was not wearing a shirt and was absolutely caked in sweat. But luckily due to the heat most of his sweat evaporated and proliferated through the air. Rodrigo felt a traced out image of his surroundings in his mind drawn by the sweat. ~I see. The immortal is about thirty cells away from me. The rats appear to be in a lower down cave connected to the prison.~
Rodrigo stood up and put his hands on two of the bars of his prison. ~The power of my mortal ranks is suppressed.~ The bars began to melt in his sweaty hands. ~I can’t defeat his guards. So my first goal should be to destroy all the cells until Nathaniel has no choice but to put me in one next to Fred. Then I can figure out a plan.~
After a few minutes of sweating the two bars he held had completely melted. Rodrigo turned sideways and shuffled through the melted bars. He walked straight to another empty prison cell. He put his sweaty hands on the bars of that cell as well. ~Magic sweat. If I were to tell myself in the past that the first power past mortal ranks I would gain is magic sweat he would probably mock me into oblivion.~ Rodrigo chuckled ~Craziest thing is that it’s so strong that it puts me on par with people who have a demon.~ After a few minutes the bars of that cell had melted as well.
“HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!” Rodrigo spun his head in the direction of the voice. A man wearing full plate armour looked at Rodrigo from at least forty steps down the hallway. He meekly held a spear in his hand.
“I’m destroying these cells” Said Fred while taking his acidic hands off the bars.
“YOU CAN’T DO THAT!” He yelled. The hand holding his spear shaking further. Rodrigo sucked in a deep breath. He bounded in the man’s direction. His movement took two leaps instead of the usual one it would take to move that far.
The man thrust his spear in Rodrigo’s direction. He grabbed the wooden haft of the spear. Steam wafted off the spear as it melted. The plate armoured man dropped his spear and ran in the other direction. ~I should destroy some more cells before they come get me.~ Rodrigo walked over to another empty cell. He put his hands on the bars. They began to melt.
“You think you could melt my bars too?” Said a voice from the cell next to Rodrigo. He looked in that voice's direction. Sitting in front of the bars of that cell was a man. He had dark hair and a face covered with acne, his lips were thin and his nose was large. But the most notable characteristic of this man's face. Was that Holding the shape of his sightful globes was two faces. If one were to look closely they would see that in the eyes of those face eyes there was another face. And in the eyes of that face’s eyes another face as well. It was a never ending cycle of face eyes growing more and more exact.

“WHY THE HECK ARE YOUR EYES LIKE THAT!” Yelled Rodrigo his grip tightening on the bars.
“Bad deal with a demon.” Rodrigo looked at him with curiosity at those words. ~I thought demons only give you power. I just need to know!~
“If you don’t mind me asking, what was the deal?” The man smiled.
“No. I don’t mind. I’ll tell you. So, the demon said I would get power beyond my comprehension. But he would take my eyes and replace it with something different in exchange. I was an easy deal. But I only found out later, that it turns out! If you have power that you can’t comprehend! It makes it really hard to use said power!” Yelled the man.
“AHAHAHAHAHA! BRO! THAT’S CRAZY!” Rodrigo almost collapsed onto the ground and lost his grip of his bars due to how hard he was laughing a strange kind of mania on his face.
Rodrigo tumbled face first into the ground. Standing above him was a man that looked to be in his fifties with a grey and white beard. “Get back in your damn cell.” He grabbed Rodrigo by the leg and began to drag him. “Wasting my fucking stones. Bastard. Fucking bastard.” Grumbled the man.
He opened the door to the cell and threw Rodrigo through it.
Rodrigo sat up Rubbing his back, ~It hurts to land on rat rib cages. They’re really pokey~ Rodrigo looked up at Nathaniel. He had pulled a smooth oval shaped rock from his pocket. ~He’s strong for an old man. He’s upper mortal ranks at least.~
“I WISH FOR THIS CELL TO BE REPAIRED!” He threw the stone where the two broken bars of the cell were. With a flash of blue light the bars appeared in the cell. Good as new. ~What. How did he do that?!?!~ Rodrigo looked at the newly manifested bars. Dumbfounded. His eyes were unfocused and his jaw had dropped.
“Damn waste of money. Asshole!” Nathaniel grumbled as he walked to another cell. Rodrigo let loose another batch of mapping sweat. He did the same with the other damaged cell. Just throw the rock. And the bars appear as good as new. Rodrigo took a deep breath. “they’re called wish stones. Stones that grant wishes. HOW CAN WE EVEN FIGHT SOMETHING LIKE THAT!” Rodrigo ran his hands down his face with fear in his eyes.
“What can you even do against that kind of power.” Rodrigo sat into a cross legged position, he tapped his knee on the corpse littered ground. I stare of intense focus on his face. ~He’s using us and that strange machine to harvest wishes. So obviously he can’t wish for wishes. He needs the people in this prison for some reason in order to get wishes from that machine. So then there is only one option. I need to kill the prisoners. If all of them but me and Fred are dead and we refuse to let him harvest us. Then it’s only a matter of depleting his stones.~
Rodrigo’s face shook with grim resolution.
