Qi sensing (just sensing qi) -> Body Reinforcement (using qi to strengthen the body) -> Foundation Establishment (using qi to form and strengthen meridians)

You're pretty much just a very strong mortal until this point.

Inner Manipulation (Internal qi usage, first real self-enhancing techniques) -> Outer Manipulation (first real visible techniques like fireballs) -> Golden core (Dantian becomes stronger and reinforced, qualitative change in qi. Your golden core passively cultivates for you... very slowly)

The Golden Core realm is where you're actually taken seriously as a cultivator in Turamar. Not yet an immortal however.

Nascent souls and above are the illustrious Immortals. If their body dies, they can form a new one as long as their soul is strong enough.

Our main cast consists out of 13 people (14 if you count the egg):

Henry, our lovable protagonist. A powerful cultivator who has mastered many disciplines and carries many unique artifacts. Kind-hearted, but naive and not used to dealing with other people. Being stuck in the Void Reality for over 200 years will do that to you.

Gerard, the ever-reliable butler. A demon in human form. Demons have experience with things like disguises, stealth, deception, ... All things Henry never really needed in the Void Reality and thus has no experience with.

Then come the pets-turned-family.

Sam, the first and the eldest. An Elder Nightmare who cares for his family and dotes on his 2 youngest sisters. A powerful cultivator at the Celestial realm with power over dreams, nightmares, and shadows.

Gora, a powerful Goblin with a short fuse. Rumor has it that she'll actually explode if forced to sit still for more than 2 hours at a time. She's somewhere between 150 and 200 years old. No one really knows their own age because the Void Reality has no day/night cycle. Instead of celebrating birthdays, they celebrated achievements in the Void Reality.

Serket, an Aqrabuamelu, or scorpion (wo)man. She is the healer of the gang. Sweet as chocolate pie, a big sister in every sense of the word. She knows a lot about medicine, meridians, herbs, and poisons. Her poisons range from paralytic to lethal, and from anaestethics to aphrodisiacs. She has a cure for most of them.

Ikkaku, a Cyclops. He's the only pet who didn't really have to transform himself into a human, he merely shrunk himself down by a few meters. An adult Cyclops like Ikkaku would normally be around 5 meters tall, now he stands at a respectable 2,10m. Which translates to about 6'11" in feet. He's a man of alchemy ever since he saw Henry create the most powerful explosion he'd ever witnessed back when they were still in the Void Reality. As a favor to Serket, he also researches poison and medicine, but he remains a man true to the art of explosions. He owes Serket quite some favors, as she has saved his life many times over because of his failed experiments.

Sirin and Caladrius are twin birds. Sirin is a woman of peace, her enchanting songs put a rest to all violence and instill joy. Caladrius is a pale, handsome man with powers over the domain of death. He can delay the passing of the dying, buying enough time for Serket to heal them. This is mostly used for keeping Ikkaku alive. Sirin and Caladrius are usually together and are completely inseparable, except for when Caladrius is chasing after the ladies. They discovered their joint passion for metallurgy after each being granted one of Henry's swords. Sirin loves the artful, delicate, and terrifyingly sharp Whisper of the Last Light. A one-handed rapier with a gilded handle and a silver blade. Caladrius on the other hand was granted a powerful two-handed claymore with a black-obsidian blade and handle. Down the middle of the blade runs a blue line, symbolizing the passing of souls over the river Styx. This sword was named The Oathkeeper.

Next is Machaka, an Earth Elemental. He loves using the natural rocky terrain to build massive formations. Lately he's been experimenting with crystals, as they seem to be excellent qi-conductors. He's also Qiao's best friend.

Qiao, like Machaka, is an elemental. Except Qiao is a pure, or blank, elemental. She can turn into any element she has acquired. To acquire an element she simply needs to absorbs enough of its qi. The qi required is tremendous however, so currently she only has 4 elements (Void, Dark, Earth and Wind). She has no hobbies to speak of, as nothing has really piqued her interest so far. She usually spends her time gathering elemental energy for unlocking new elements. She's close to unlocking Fire and Water (to complete the basic elements of fire, water, earth & wind), after that she wants Lightning. Why? Because she thinks lightning is absolutely the coolest.

Finn is the first of the younglings. Finn, Ruby and Sapphire were the last 3 to join the family, so they're still a little young - they're a bunch of unruly teenagers. Finn is a trickster, he likes to prank people and doesn't take many things seriously. Other beings do have to take him seriously however, especially when he's near water. He carries the bloodline of a Leviathan, so he has absolute dominion over the element of water. Recently he's been using this to help water the plants. When Finn isn't in his human form, he's basically a fat tuna. Leviathans can grow very big, but they grow slowly.

Ruby is the wildest of the bunch, but maybe it's not her fault. She has fire inside herself after all, literally. Ruby is a phoenix, and like how Finn has dominion over water, she has dominion over fire. Gora saw a lot of herself in Ruby, as goblins are also a rowdy bunch, so she took it upon herself to teach Ruby how to live and fight with honor (the goblin kind).

Sapphire is the youngest, and likely the calmest. The only one who can really upset Sapphire is Ruby when she's bored. Sapphire loves reading and gathering all kinds of knowledge. She's dying to use her knowledge to help improve a lot of things, but she still needs some time before she gets to that point. Sapphire has the bloodline of a Qilin, which gives her powerful control over earth and nature.

Then there's still the egg of Sunya'ata, the Void Dragon, but it hasn't budged one bit ever since Henry got it. No one in the family has seen a dragon before, so they're very curious.
