'Well, that wasn't much help. I assume something will happen later on then, just like with that Store option. Now for this Inventory..'

'what the... How is that possible. What is this System anyways?'

'Hmm... So what your saying is I can go kill monsters, get stronger, and make some money to help pay for rent and buy some good food. Sounds interesting'

'W-wait, I was just wondering!!'
[Now Starting. Death in the dungeon will mean you die for real as well]

Alex then felt something he never felt before; it felt as if he was being sucked into an endless hole; however, he was in some sort of underground cavern the next instant.
'Is this actually a dungeon, System?'
No response came from the System, but Alex didn't need a reply because instinctively, he knew.

The sound of laughing came closer and closer towards Alex until he could see a single goblin at the end of the hallway. It was just like the one from before; however, for some reason, he had no fear this time.
"Alright, let's see what you got, you short motherf*cker."
Responding to Alex's provocation, the goblin ran straight towards him, noticing he had no weapon. However, Alex had already thought this through, and right before the goblin could fully trust his dagger out, Alex kicked his left leg right at the goblins' wrist, which held onto the dagger. Alex's plan was to block the attack before it came, but the result was completely different.
The knife flew out of its hand and onto the ground. The goblin held onto its' wrist as if surprised, but the most surprised one was the one who sent the kick.
'last time, I kicked one in the side with full force, and nothing happened, but now I actually damaged it.'
At this time, both of them recovered from their shock and looked right at the knife. They both leaped for it simultaneously, but unlike last time when he was being chased, Alex was faster than the goblin and was able to quickly pick up the knife. Seeing the look in the goblin's eye after realizing that this would be his end caused a grin to form on Alex's face.
'Enjoy being on the receiving end, you green fu*ker.'
Now in the dominant position, Alex started to repeated lunge at the goblin with the newly acquired knife and could several lacerations on its body. After a minute or two, the goblin's body couldn't keep up, and Alex was able to slit its neck.
"Hahaha, my first time killing a monster.. awake at least."
While Alex was basking in the glory of killing his first monster, anyone who would have seen this situation would question who the real monster was. One was a deceased creature with multiple lacerations, while the other was a smiling maniac holding a knife while covered in blood.

After he regained his composure, Alex noticed a new alert, and to his surprise, when he opened it, he had leveled up. It now read

'WOW... I actually felt my body changing and getting stronger. So from the looks of it, every time I level up, I will receive 1 stat point in every category and one stat point to place in a stat of my choice. Well, for now, I hold onto the extra point and see where I lack first."
Alex then continued to walk through the dungeon; killing a single goblin was relatively easy with the dagger and the improved stats. Not only that but every time he killed something, he got stronger. Eventually, multiple at a time came, but they were no match for him at that point. Along the way, he collected a couple daggers to store in his Inventory just in case one broke. By the time he was at the gate that led to the boss room, his stat window looked utterly different.

One of the biggest things Alex notice was the gap between a stat that was at 9 and a stat at 10. He felt as if there was an invisible bar at that level, and once you cross it, your power increased exponentially. The biggest ones that he noticed were Mana and Perception. When Mana hit 10, he felt power surging in him that he didn't feel before; it was a powerful energy that belonged to him, but he couldn't touch it yet. The other was Perception, a stat which Alex initially didn't understand its use. When it hit the threshold, he could sense the general power things, and not only made his 5 senses and thinking improve but others as well.
'Although in the games I played in the past, a stat like this was usually called Wisdom.'

'Uhhh, no problem, I guess. But thanks to that stat, I can tell that my current strength isn't enough to be the guy in the boss room. It's a good thing I saved my Stat points'
