Chapter 1: Mizuki and Room 27B

"Hmm...I guess Pluto will do. It was my most popular title." Hades said to himself as he finished writing his name. He then filled in the rest of the basic details such as age, country of origin, sex, and occupation. He then got up and headed back towards the counter before handing over the piece of paper, however, just before he gave it over, he cast a minor spell on it that made it so that his identity would be created without any issues, or so he hoped.

Hades was under the impression that the humans had lost all of their knowledge of mana thanks to the ruler of all mana deeming the people on this planet to be unworthy of its gifts, but he was allowed to be a little bit anxious, no? This was his highly anticipated vacation. He just wanted everything to go well. The man he had handed his form to then took a moment to look at it.

Registration Form Name: Hades Pluto Age: 37 Sex: Male Country of Origins: Greece Occupation: Unemployed Criminal Record: None Address

"Well, everything seems to be in order, Pluto-san. I'll just stamp this for you then you'll need to send it away to the labelled address before your identification card is sent to you through the mail." The Japanese man sitting behind the counter said as he grabbed an official looking stamp. Hades breathed a sigh of relief at this. It would seem that his magic had worked.

Hades had no address currently so he planned to just fill it in after he had arranged one. The man then stamped the form before giving it back to Hades and wishing him to experience a pleasant day. Hades then stored the form inside of his suit as he wanted to avoid using his powers whenever possible, so he saw no reason to store the document magically.

As he left the building, he noticed a fairly large congregation of people surrounding the area that he had left Cerberus at before he entered the bureau. Curious as to the cause, he moved closer to the area before he suddenly heard a string of happy barking. A small grey husky then wormed his way past the crowd and jumped into Hades's arms.

"Who untied you Cerby? Are you the reason behind this commotion?" Hades asked him fully expecting an answer of some sort. The on-lookers merely watched the scene with warm eyes. All they saw was a concerned owner playfully speaking to his pet.

Before Cerberus could signal an answer, he suddenly shivered a bit as he hid inside of Hades's suit with only his head poking out of the neck region of the outfit. A small woman of maybe 5'4inches in height who was fairly decent looked and possessed short red hair had pushed her way through the crowd and had stopped directly in front of Hades. She was intensely staring at the fluffy head that was poking out of his suit.

"Are you that dogs owner?" She asked as her eyes stayed firmly planted on the mentioned animal. Hades was once again excited. He had been spoken to once more! He really had to thank Cerberus some time as it would seem that he was an excellent medium for these kinds of interactions.

"Indeed I am. I'm sorry if he caused any trouble. Cerby isn't used to new environments yet." Hades said with a smile. Cerberus cringed a little bit with his furry little face. He knew that he was handling everything much better than his master was.

"Cerby? What a cute name...hey...can I buy him from you?" She asked as she started to pull out her purse. She fully expected his answer to be a yes, or so it would seem. Hades took a moment to inspect the woman before he answered her question.

She was short but clearly about 27, maybe 30 years old at a push. She didn't seem particularly unique except for the fact that she had no problems asking a foreigner if she could buy his dog despite clearly being a Japanese woman. And if the Japanese were known for anything, it was how reserved they could be.

"I'm sorry miss, but I am the only person who could possibly be his owner." Hades only told her the truth. Despite not looking like it, Cerberus was a complete Cosmos Level Being from head to toe with his very own set of skills and the ability to talk if he so wished. He had made a pact with Hades aeons ago before either of them were anyone of significance to serve him loyally for the rest of his life, which would equate to eternity.

"..Eh? No way. Let me have him!" She exclaimed in defiance as she lunged for Hades's chest. He just side-stepped ever so lightly to avoid her. At this point, the crowd had dispersed to go about their days as it was a relatively busy city wherever he was. The woman just looked at him dumbly for a moment.

"No way...how did you avoid?" She asked in disbelieve. She was a master at kendo, so her footwork was clearly impressive, but this man? This man's footwork left even her stunned. She had decided to make a concession over the fluffy creature.

"Here. My phone number. I'm Mizuki. Call me sometime. I really need to see your pet more often." She said as she handed him a scrap of paper with her number on it before she ran off to hide her embarrassment. She genuinely did want to see Cerberus. However, it was still her first time giving her number to a member of the opposite sex despite the situation.

"How peculiar. Oh well. To the real estate agents next, I think." Hades said to Cerberus as he tried to continue enjoyed his first proper day in Japan. It had taken him about 15 minutes of walking before he had reached the nearest real estate agency.

Hades brought Cerberus in with him this time and was prepared to use charm magic to allow him to stay if he was told to leave him outside again. As much as he wanted to interact with mortals, he would like to avoid strange people like the previous one. Thankfully the estate agents had no issue with his dog as Cerberus was behaving very well as he still hid inside of Hades's suit.

"Well, how can I help you, sir?" The estate agent asked after they had agreed to Hades's request about keeping Cerberus inside of the building. Hades instantly made a couple hundred thousand yen appear in his pocket as he wanted to rent a relatively decent apartment before he started to earn his own money just like the mortals did. He found the concept of money to be very primitive, but he could still see the joy in using it.

"I was thinking about renting an apartment. I was wondering if you could show me some of the ones that would cost approximately 100,000 yen per month?" Hades asked as he tried to estimate the salary he would earn. He estimated it to be somewhere between 100,000 to 200,000 yen per month.

The man he had asked quickly entered some numbers and data into the computer he was sitting at before a printer suddenly buzzed. He then got up and walked over to the printer before returning to Hades and handing him a sheet of freshly printed paper.

"This is a list of all the nearby apartments that meet your budget, sir." He explained as he went back to his seat. "Please take your time inspecting it and tell me if any of them catch your eye." He had continued before he turned his attention back to his computer. Hades took a seat in one of the waiting areas for customers and immediately inspected the list for a suitable home.

After ten or so minutes, he finally had decided on one. It was a simple one bedroom apartment that was going at a rate of 76,000 yen per month. It belonged to a much larger complex that the agency had full ownership of. Hades approached the estate agent again after he had made his decision.

"Excuse me. I've decided. I'll take this one, please." Hades politely said. He was then directed to fill out some simple paperwork before handed over two months rent and a deposit up-front. He was then given a tenancy agreement and a set of keys before he was gifted a map that gave him directions to his new home. He then left with Cerberus still inhabiting his suit. Hades then made his way to a nearby computer store to buy a top of the line Laptop.

Hades soon found a shop that specialised in technology; it was called 'Plum'. How curious. Hades couldn't stop thinking about how peculiar it was to name a store after a type of fruit, but regardless, he still entered and was quickly approached by a saleswoman.

"Hello, sir. Is there anything in specific that you're looking for today or are you just here to browse?" She politely asked with a customer service smile that clearly screamed 'I am a good employee' or so Hades thought. He figured that he could learn a lot from her that he could take to his future job endeavours.

The employee simply believed him to be another stupid foreigner businessman who was looking for a phone or laptop. She did find his always moving chest to be somewhat questionable but thought better of asking about it.

"Yes actually. I'm looking for a laptop, preferably a top of the line one. Can you help me with that?" Hades responded to her heavily rehearsed line. She was quite happy. The saleswoman imagined that she would get quite a hefty commission if she did this properly. She immediately entered her professional business mode.

"Of course, sir. Right, this way. We have some of the best laptops available on the market currently." She claimed as she started to lead him to a corner of the store. When she finally stopped leading him to that particular section, Hades noticed that it was full of laptops and he honestly couldn't tell the difference between them, even if his life depended on it, which greatly worried him although he knew such a situation was highly unlikely.

It would seem that he would have to use this 'internet' thing to get as much information as he could in the future just in case.

"Lovely, I'll take the best one please if you don't mind." Hades said which only made the saleswoman's smile spread out until it was an entirely formed grin of glee. She immediately found the best laptop. It had a thin, sleek design and was pure black in colour.

It had a whopping price tag of 300,000 yen which Hades didn't even hesitate to give to her once they had reached a register and she logged into it so she could log her successful sale. Hades then happily left with his new device in hand as he headed towards his new home.

It didn't take hades long to reach his new home as it was just like the real estate agent had claimed, it was quite close by. He soon saw a large, entirely cream coloured building complex that was about six or so stories high and several hundred meters wide. He quickly found the stairs as he didn't quite think he was ready for using an elevator just yet.

Hades's new apartment was on the third floor, room 27B. He soon reached his new home and just as he was unlocking the door, the one right next to his swung open and a familiar face emerged from it.

"Strange woman?" "Dog man?" they said in unison. Hades had met Mizuki once more. It would seem that she was his neighbour.
