The city air was fresh. The people here were chatty. The buildings were huge. But the greatest of all, the statue of the lord Zorroth was simply breathtaking. Why else wouldn't it be? It's the capital city after all.
This life may seem normal to the people here but it's vastly different from the country side. As I make my way across the city, I come across the 'Holy church of Ares'. The church was huge from the outside. It was definitely way bigger on the inside though. However, the only thing that came in my mind was when would my mana be strong enough to destroy that power.
Zorroth was a god everybody loved. He was known as one just because he was strongest among his peers. He had graduated from the school Bellhearts. It might sound anti climatic but I'm going to attend that same school from today as a mage.
Oh! Looks like I reached the right place. The school was huge. My eyes couldn't process it all. As I was busy admiring the building someone splashed water on top of me.
"We're just helping you water your plants." Some girls snickered. It was a red head with water mana, a blondie with water as well and a brown haired one with fire mana.
The city may seem nice but there remains a hierarchy among the people. People have different kinds of mana stones according to their status. This mana stone can easily be seen by anyone who has the ability to use mana. Maybe that's why I'm being targeted. My mana stone is small and dirty. It shows my dirty and poor status as well. I glance at the mana stones of the three girls.
"Royalty" I say out loud and snicker.
"What gives you the right to laugh you filthy!" The red haired says.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
I give them a smile and say, "Nothing, life's just not fair sometimes I guess"
Without waiting for a response I walk past them inside the school when the accountant lady at the counter starts yelling at me. It must be because I'm drenched I think trying to ignore the fact that it was because I was poor. It was their other way of saying that I don't belong there.
I'm naturally gifted. I can grow hundreds and hundreds of plants. I technically give life. Not only that I'm good at combat as well with my vines. However, there must be a reason why I got into the school after trying for 2 years when others get in on their first try.
But everyone knows the main reason, it's because I'm poor. Another negative point, I don't have a history of people who have used mana or gone to this school.
That must be the reason why I hate the god so much. Everyone praises him for being more powerful than his peers, but the truth is he was a royal. He could easily get the best magic trainers, buy the most exclusive magic spells, got more opportunities to showcase his powers. It was easy for him.
To put it simply, he never truly struggled. Now, why would I worship a god who was handed everything? He doesn't even try to take care of everyone in Ares. I mean my city's the example. Day by day people are dying due to the lack of healthcare. No sight of god's mana in there though.
As I take my drenched body outside of the school grounds, heavy wind blew. It dried all the water off of me. I looked to see who helped me and low and behold, it was 'Nepotism'.
Just kidding, it was Derrith. How do I know him when I'm new to the school and city you ask? Well it's simply hard to not know the son of the one and only god of the kingdom.
Though I hate to say it, I said a thank you. I looked at him and pure jealousy burned in my eyes. His mana stone was so unique. It was glowing. He looked at me with a smile and walked into the school.
I was enraged. I wanted to crush him. But I could not bail myself out of the dungeon so I tried to control my anger.
I walked back inside to the school and the atmosphere now had definitely changed. The accountant gave me a smile and handed me a little map of the school. I glared at her fake face and walked of to my destined class.
