“What, Why?” I asked as I looked up at him.
“Do you remember what I said to you back when we first met” he mentioned while looking directly at the school bullies.
Suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks, he mentioned that he runs off of headpats. How could something like that be true? It's such an anime slice of life plot that it hurts.
“I remember!” I declared as I moved my hand nervously to his head. I still didn't understand why of all times he needed a headpat now, did he need it to run away? Was he going to pick me up and bolt out of there? Without any further delay I let my hand pat on his head, and I rustled his hair a little bit.
“Didn't think we would see such PDA before a freshman got beat up, can't do anything without your girly-friends support I see” cackled the makeshift ringleader of the bullies.
All of a sudden a small smirk came across Bytes face, one of the largest displays of emotion I've seen from him so far, which isn't saying much, but still.
“Say what you will about me” Byte said as he walked up and faced the instigator. “But making fun of her, is inexcusable.”

“Tough talk for someone trying to take on three seniors by himself, let's whippem into shape boys” announced the tyrant of a senior.
“Don't do this! I can't let you get hurt!” I cried as the bully swung his fist at Byte. A small pool of tears streaming down my face I closed my eyes, unable to watch.
“Let go of me, stupid freshman!” I heard the words ring out into the air beyond my shut eyes, and when I opened them I was astonished. Byte had the bully’s fist gripped in his own. The unspeakable horror that had just befallen the bullies was plastered on their faces, especially the leader, whose fist was currently being held in stasis by Bytes' hand.
“Have a nice flight” Byte uttered as he launched the bully into the school's lockers that line the hallway. Everyone in the hallway started to cheer when they realized that Byte had turned the tables in an unfair, 3 on 1 fight. I just stood in disbelief from the display of strength I just saw (not to mention the corny one liner). But seriously, with how skinny he is without his suit that he came down in you'd never guess he would be able to throw some twice his size like a piece of paper into a waste basket.
“Why you little…” one of the other boys started to speak up as he took a swing at Bytes head. Byte shifted to the side, grabbed his arm and threw him to the ground.
“Try harder” Byte muttered as he shook his head, before turning to face the last man standing. “You see how useless they were, I'd give up since you're ahead.”
Before Byte could utter another word the boy beelined down the hallway trying to get away, where he was grabbed by one of our schools security personnel.
“Good grief, when I heard someone was starting a fight in the hallway I should've known it would've been one of you twerps” the security guard groaned “Gimme a break.”
Byte turned around and faced me before walking over, he looked at me with his usual stoic look
“You were crying, are you okay” he asked as he lightly wiped away one of the tears around my eyes.
“Im fine, I-I’m just glad you're okay” I said as I smiled slightly. “B-But please don't touch my face around all these people please” I whispered as I looked at him.
“I see” He remarked in his usual stoic tone.
