James had not used the Chaos Sword or the Nine Voices of Chaos to attack Wynona during their final exchange. That was because he could tell that Wynona had sustained serious injuries, and she was merely holding herself together by drawing on large amounts of energy.

“Do you still want to fight?”

James could see Wynona grimacing in pain. Yet, the woman clearly had no intention to back down. She levitated in midair and fixed her gaze on James.

He said, ‘You’ve sustained severe injuries that require immediate attention. If you insist on continuing with the battle, you might not escape alive.”

Wynona’s eyes blazed with rage as she glared at James.

‘There’s no way I’d lose! I can’t lose like this!

‘I have the Caelandor, the greatest weapon in all of Verde District! I’d be humiliated for eternity if I lost in spite of this!’ Wynona seethed inwardly.

“I can’t lose, and I won’t lose.”

Wynona gripped her sword handle firmly. Then, she slowly stepped toward James. With each step, Wynona’s aura gradually grew.

It was evident that Wynona had used some kind of forbidden art to increase her aura and powers. By doing

that, Wynona could wield powers even greater compared to when she had started the battle.

Still, the usage of secret arts or forbidden arts usually came with consequences. Not only would it inflict severe damage to the cultivators’ body, but it would also take a long time for the person to fully recover. Also, the heightened state would only last for a short amount of time.

Soon enough, Wynona was able to speed up. Her aura had increased tremendously. Simultaneously, the Caelandor Sword that she was holding shone with a blinding light. In a flash, the sword radiated an incredible amount of Sword Intent that swept across the arena.

Suddenly, Wynona vanished from her spot. Before James could react, she had reappeared before him as she brutally swung the Caelandor toward James.

Clang!

A sharp sound echoed through the space around them as James held up the Death-Celestial Sword to block Wynona’s attack. The clash of the energies from those two swords even created a ripple of residual energies that swept outward.

Just then, James heard the sound of a loud crack. The Death -Celestial Sword was simply no match for the Caelandor Sword in terms of power and energy. The overwhelming Sword Path Energy radiating from the Caelandor caused the Death-Celestial Sword to snap into two after receiving a direct hit.

James detected a malicious Sword Intent approaching him the next instant.

‘With Wynona’s current state and the powers of the Caelandor Sword, I’d be in big trouble if I receive a direct hit. I’ll need to avoid her attacks as much as possible.’ James thought.

He unleashed the Blithe Omniscience at once and teleported to another side of the arena.

As soon as James had reappeared at the new location, the Sword Energy from the Caelandor caught up with him at an astounding speed. James received a severe blow as the sword energy landed on his

back.

A horrendous, bloody wound ran down James’ back. The wound was so large and deep that the audience could even see the whites of James’ bones.

James stopped and glanced at his broken sword. He quickly decided to discard it.

Before he could turn to check where Wynona was, she had flashed to James’ side. At the same time, Wynona released multiple Sword Energies aimed at James. He quickly used the Blithe Omniscience to avoid her attacks. Text © 2024 .

“Shouldn’t James Caden admit his defeat now? He’s so

badly hurt. He might die if this battle goes on.”

Some of the cultivators discussed the state of the battle fervently among themselves.

‘I didn’t want to use the Chaos Sword.

‘However, without it, I won’t stand a chance against Wynona, who wields the Caelandor Sword. I can’t even get close to her now.’ James gritted his teeth.
