Chapter 3: New teammates (1)

“So young Saint, can you understand me now?” A female angel in scientist clothes talked to Jeora.

“Yeah, loud and clear. So this is how receiving blessing in the other world feels like.” Jeora said in a fluent Universal Common Language.

The place he was being right now was an enhancement room, the place for implementing all kinds of upgrades or enhancement for living people. There were all kinds of tools for empowering the people here. Most common ones were the body enhancement and plug in installation.

Body enhancement as the name suggested allowed a person’s body to improve in many areas. With the technology of this place, they were able to quantify any trait of a body: be it endurance, physical strength, agility, and regeneration rate.

Plug in installation was a special empowerment feature coming from a very big empire that governed many worlds. Firstly, to be able to use this powering up method, one had to undergo body modification to receive a soul terminal. It allowed a soul to receive many enhancements that can be equipped or taken off with ease. In other words, it’s like making the soul being able to equip soul specific equipment like wearing an armor or helmet on the body.

These soul equipment, or so-called plugin, had many functionalities and benefits. One of it was auto translation plugin, the ability to understand and speak any language. Other than that, there were plugins also gave knowledge to the users in different fields such as basic doctor plugin, basic engineer plugin, novice pilot plugin. The other category of plug-in allowed user to be able to use other different powers that exist in different worlds. The low grade included: mana affinity, chakra affinity, qi affinity. Jeora could not see the higher grade plugin, however, from the angel assisting him, the most common high-grade plugin in that category was god power affinity, the power used by the god.

Jeora sighed deeply as he heard that. As expected of the place made by many gods, even the power related to godhood could be considered as trade products. By the way, all of these enhancements did cost money.

As a member of IDAF, Jeora was allowed free installation of auto-translation plugin at medium grade. Although it was only medium grade, one could not underestimate its power. Besides being able to speak any language from a mortal creature, the medium grade allowed him to read archaic languages, also known as god languages.

Different from normal speaking languages between living creatures, archaic languages were languages that contained strength in any of their words. It was the language used in many extremely powerful spell recitation or divine artifacts. Getting the medium grade plugin meant that he could learn more divine spells in his world, or even invent a new one with enough knowledge. That fact alone made him more amazed at the scale of the organization he was in.

In addition to the plugin, Jeora was also offered a chance to enhance his body. However, being already a saint in his young age, Jeora’s body was already exceptional in his world, and that made his enhancement more costly than normal. Instead of enhancement, he was offered the same amount of money used for enhancement instead. By the way, the currency of this place was called CC, short for common currency.

The following schedule for today was like this: body examination and enhancement, meeting with new comrades, then attending the briefing conference together. Finishing the first task, the place he was heading to was where he would meet his new teammates.

Joining a big organization like IDAF was not a simple deal. Even though he was joining it with the recommendation from Linda, the angel in his world, he was still only a cadet, the lowest level of member in this organization. Furthermore, he also needed to pass some tests before being official members.

From Miranda’s story, the minimum requirement to join this organization was being a very respected or powerful person in his own world. In Aurora's term, one had to be at least the level of the saint or hero to be eligible to apply here. And Jeora just barely fulfilled the requirement. The other way was to get the recommendation from the god responsible for that world. In fact, this was the most common method as the god was very objective and selective in choosing the personnel sent here.

Standing in front of the door, Jeora was slightly excited. He wondered how the saints or heroes from the other worlds look like. Working together with the saints or heroes in order to rise up from the bottom level. This kind of experience could not be imagined back in his world.

“Oh! Look like a new guy finally comes. Over here!” A muscular young black haired man in the room waved at Jeora energetically.

“Hm, he looks like someone from those fantasy novels, I wonder if he likes my pizza.” Another black hair man wondered.

“Hahaha, why are you, a doctor, trying to impress people with pizza? Should you impress him with your skill instead?” The muscular one laughed cheerfully.

“Well, I used to be a pizza boy after all. Not until I died of old age did I realize that making good pizza is a good way to know people.” The pizza guy said with confidence.

“Nice to meet you. My name is Jeora McLuther, a human Aurorarian. I am glad to be your acquaintance.” Jeora offered greeting in polite manner.

The two men looked at each other in confusion for a while “Ah, let’s see. How should we introduce ourselves? I mean we both come from a place called Earth, but they are two different Earth. I don’t know what to call my world like.”

“Isn’t your world called Jojo bizarre adventure?” The other man said.

“No! Don’t call it such a shameful name. I know that our earth came from a fictional comic, but for everyone to give your home such a weird name is definitely strange on many levels. Oh my god!” The muscular guy howled.

“I read your story. It was truly a definition of how a man should be. Different from mine, a world where everything is down straight creepy in other world people’s eyes.” The pizza guy sighed sadly.

“Sorry to hear that man.” The muscular guy patted his back.

On the other hand, Jeora was quite speechless at the scene. He only stayed silent a while before saying “How about resuming introduction again?”

“Oh yeah, the name is Joseph Joestar, a human Earthling. Old job, uhm, real estate manager?” Joseph introduced himself.

“Alan Probe, also a human Earthling. Old job and current job are both surgeons, you can think it as a specialized doctor.” Alan introduced himself “Call me when you have any injury. I will be sure to patch it right away.”

“I will be relying on you at that.” Jeora smiled then offered a handshake. He learned that a handshake was a good gesture of friendship between people here.

*Bang*

Suddenly, a loud sound of door opening occurred behind Jeora. However, when everyone turned behind, there was no one there. Then, a sound came up from behind everyone.

“Oh, pizza. Hm, this is actually quite good. Where did you order this stuff? I must have the address for that place.” A silver hair guy spoke while eating the pizza on the table.

“Actually I made that myself.” Alan said while in daze.

“Oh, can I get your number? Ah, don’t mistake. I am into ladies, not men. I just want to order some pizzas from you. You know, like asking the contact address for pizza stores.” The white hair guy jokingly said.

(What’s up with that speed? It was just like the time I faced with DIO.) Sweat formed on Joseph’s forehead.

(That man, he has the smell of demon on him. Who on earth is this guy? And what did he do just now?) Jeora frowned his eyebrows.
