Chapter 2: Inter Dimensional Warp Station

Chapter 2: Inter Dimensional Warp Station

“Welcome to Port G789 of the Inter Dimensional Warp Station. The local time is 7:45 AM in the morning, September 28th, 1468 AA year. We wish you success with your business and journey. “ A clear loud feminine voice echoed the surrounding.

The voice woke Jeora up. After recovering from the drowsiness, he started to analyze the surrounding. It was also a white space but he could see that it was an interior of a circle shape room. There were many rectangular frames with pictures or not inside, because he could see that some pictures were moving and sounds coming from it. He could not determine the meaning behind those pictures. There were some pictures with many people faces facing away from each other and a full body of a man standing in the middle holding a weapon, some showing a beautiful women with extravagant jewelry products, and some having big texts of languages that he did not know.

As he was confused with the surrounding, a grumbling voice reached his ear.

“Hey human, get out of the warp port already. You are going to block the way if you just keep standing there forever.”

Jeora hurriedly looked down behind him. And there stood a short creature with a getup impossible for such race.

A green skin goblin was wearing a well kept brown robe with cloak hanging over. Two short leather shoes fitted tightly his feet, making them suitable for fast movement. On the belt hanged a short white metal handle. The whole outfit gave the wearer a dignified look, which was something impossible for such a savage creature called goblin. What surprised him most was the goblin’s face: calm, composed, wrinkles showing the maturity of the old age, and clear eyes without any wicked thought.

Jeora nearly got into his combat stance because goblin was an evil race in Aurora. It was a low class demon that spawned everywhere, bringing nothing but destruction and misery to the people. There was no way such a dignified person in front of him being such a filthy vermin. Besides, the place that angel sent him to could not have such creature.

The goblin noticed the killing intent from the human in front of him for a second then retracted. He slightly frowned his eye brows then relaxed as if realizing something.

“Oh great! So it is a country bumpkin. It is quite rare for one to use the warp port in this section.” The grumbling voice changed to an understanding tone “Follow me, youngster. We need to get out of the gate before another warp occurs, or else the security comes and fines you.” The goblin then leaped forward after signifying him to follow.

It was a long elegant leap with over 5 meter. The goblin did not seem to make a jump but walk lightly instead. But to Jeora, it looked more like the short green man just flew in the air instead. As the goblin was further away, Jeora decided to follow by running on two legs.

A metal circle door opened sideway automatically as the pair approached, connecting to a long empty corridor. After entering, the goblin finally stopped leaping and walked normally alongside the man. Surprisingly, even with short legs, he could still keep up with Jeora’s normal walking pace like nothing.

“So youngster, on what occasion do you come here? I can help you with some explaining or guide to the place.” The green man talked him to Jeora.

“Do you know what this place is?” Jeora asked.

“I see. A complete beginner. There should be a receptionist who will meet and inform you everything. You can ask her for the detail. I will just briefly introduce to you about this place.” The goblin then patiently explained to him.

The room where he was a while ago was called the warp gate. Like traditional warp gate, it connected instant movement between places, however, this one was much more advanced, as it connected between different worlds.

The Inter Dimensional Warp Station was actually not a station, but an artificial world, made for traveling between different worlds. The spatial law of this world was very special, as the cost or the energy required for the warp gates to remain stable and connect to different worlds became very cheap, even cheaper than traveling between warp gates in one world. This was the result of collaboration of more than 100 time and space gods. Currently, there were more than ten thousand gates, connecting to 765 worlds. In the future, these number would continue to grow.

Jeora was shocked as he heard the story. In Aurora, there was only one god responsible for everything. However, according to the old short man’s story, there were infinite number of gods and worlds out there, and each world was different from each other. The short man called himself Master Yoshi, a jedi from an organization called the Galatic Republic. Jeora did not know what a jedi was, but it must be a respectable job, judging from Master Yoshi’s manner.

“We have arrived. Again, welcome to Inter Dimensional Warp Station, young Aurorarian.” Master Yoshi smiled at him as another gate opened.

A complete new world appeared in front of Jeora. In front of him was a grand plaza with numerous people, belonging to numerous races. A majority of them had humanoid shapes, but there were numerous traits that told him that they were not human.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

There were those with animal parts, ranging from cat ears, dog ears, to ox horns, lion mane. He could also see some people with strange skin colors like green, red, or blue. Some had very strange heads, with T shape, heart shape or cone shape.

Jeora could see some angels walking around. However, more to his surprise, their conversation partners were clearly demons, those with devil wings and horns. Even from far away, he could feel the dark energy from them, and some presences were far stronger than any demon back in Aurora. Jeora could swear that they were even stronger than the demon king he had fought in the previous war.

Seeing how intense Jeora was, Master Yoshi talked to him a low but impactful voice “Calm down, young Jeora. You must apply your world racial prejudice here.” His voice seemed to carry some special effects, managing to calm Jeora down.

“Phew. Thank you, Master Yoshi. You helped me there.” Jeora was grateful.

“No surprise. In fact, this is expected. The power of dark side is considered as evil in every place. I also held some prejudice against them when I first came here.” Master Yoshi said.

“But why are there demons here?” Jeora asked with confused expression.

“See how they are talking normally with the angels? They are also recognized as part of this community. I know that demon is a term referring to the evil race. But the ones you see here are different. They are demons, true, but they are not as evil as you think. In some worlds, the demons are the symbol of justice and rightfulness, while the angels are opposite. They come from that sort of world.” Master Yoshi calmly answered “You will see many more unexpected things later on. The other day, I saw the advertisement for a tour trip to the undead world, and there were some liches distributing pamphlets, promoting how useful their products are. By the way, it seems your guide is finally here.”

On the far left side, a girl with a black dress suit was hurriedly running toward here. The round black hat with yellow wing symbol on top her hat, combined with her dress code, showed that she had a respectable job. However, in contrast to that, her long slightly unkempt brown hair swayed around behind as she moved. Together with the beautiful face filled with panic, she showed the cuteness of a clumsy yet energetic girl.

Her beauty was a fresh new thing to Jeora, and captivated him. In his whole life, he had not witnessed such a strange combination of traits in a woman: energetic yet dignified, serious but clumsily cute at the same time.

“I am sorry. I was stuck at the identification check area.” The girl gasped as she arrive in front of the pair. “Saint Jeora McLuther from Aurora world, correct?” The girl stood up and asked him.

“Yes, that is me.” Jeora said in confirmation.

“I am glad. I was worried that you went ahead without waiting for me. Ah, Master Yoshi, thank you for your assistance.” The girl made an apologetic face then bowed to the goblin.

“It was nothing.” Master Yoshi waved his hand showing that there was no problem. “Well then, young man. Look like we are going to part here. I hope that you can achieve what you want to do. May the force be with you.” He then offered good bye to Jeora and walked away.

“I hope that we can meet again Master Yoshi.” Jeora offered his farewell, then turned to the young girl “Are you my receptionist?”

“Yes. The name is Miranda Acetime. You can call me Miranda. This way, please, Saint McLuther.” Miranda fixed her unsightly look and showed a professional manner.

“Please refer to me as Jeora. And also drop the Saint in front too. It’s embarrassing to be called with that title.” Jeora said.

“I understand, Mr. Jeora. Well then, please follow me. “ Miranda showed an understanding look and led him to a direction exiting the plaza.

Jeora again entered another long empty corridor connecting to a different warp gate. However, different from the previous one, there were guard stationed in front of it.

Miranda gave the guard some identification check and signaled him to pass through together with her. She talked with them in a language that was completely foreign to him. Jeora wondered whether they did not want him to listen the content of the conversation, so he decided to have a check.

“Ah, sorry. I guessed I did it naturally without realizing it. The language I used with the guard just now was called Universal Common Language. It is the language that is used by everyone here, but not in Aurora. The reason I can talk and hear you normally is because of the auto translation plug in.” Miranda explained.

“Auto translation plug in?” Jeora was confused.

“You can think of it as a blessing. It allows one to understand and speak the language that the conversation partner can understand. It is one of the compulsory blessing that all members of the IDAF are supposed to receive.”

“Sergeant Linda Ford, I suppose, did not explain to me anything. Can you please tell me this whole thing about the IDAF here?”

“IDAF, standing for Inter Dimensional Alliance Force, is the organization that connects all the top governing forces in the different worlds to combat our common enemy, the Abyss. Its scale is not simple as a mortal like us can understand. It is an alliance between gods and those standing equally with them. God Aurora is simply a low rank member in the upper hierarchy of this organization.”

Even after expecting how big this IDAF organization would be, it was still mind blowing to him. Aurora, the center figure of his world, was only a low rank member. He did not doubt that the girl in front of him exaggerated the story as there was no reason to do so. The fact that there were numerous gods out there was enough to for him to change his perspective.

In the Aurora church, although he was titled a Saint, he did not blindly believe the teaching and placed it as the center of his life. He only took it as a reference how to live his life in a better way. If he had been an enthusiastic believer, he would have been overwhelmed by this change in perspective so far.
