Prologue - When desperation overcame common sense

Prologue - When desperation overcame common sense

There is just something about how all gods and immortal's have their own common sense that cannot be described to anyone (even other gods and immortal’s) who is not insane without appearing insane.

528 that’s how many times I have had a full playthrough of this seemingly endless single player RPG hell with nothing but Monsters and NPCs with pre-programmed dialogue for company, this on top of the too many to count times I lost my life to trapped doors, running out of food, drowning in puddles and so oh so many other fun and exotic ways that only a particularly creative game developer can come up with.

But it was all worth it as I have finally collected all the pieces for my last hope of escaping this hell loop.

The Scroll of omnipotence.

Since the inception of this game no one had ever had managed to find a way to read it, at least not before I got stuck in here and lost all contact with the outside world.

While in the original game it was already complete and dropped after a fight with a hidden boss you could fight after completing the main mission in here for some reason when I found it was torn to pieces, I had to complete the game in all the classes (22) in all the playable races (12) AND in both genders (2) to find them all thus 528 complete runs of this hell that takes about 18-24 months in game time to complete.

So, let’s do quick math and say 21 months on average times 528 divided by 12 for the years and we get... 924 years minimum.

To say that I'm fed up with this place by now would be an understatement of epic proportions.

As the piece fills in the last hole in the scroll it rolls open in a flash of light and a text box opens in front of me.

Wish: _

Now this is promising while there are ways to make a Wish in the game this is the first time, I have seen it displayed like this.

With sweaty palms I carefully type in the only wish I have been thinking of for years.

Wish: Take me home_

As I press enter, I start to see a fast-moving wall of text rapidly moving in the box.

“Just take me to my old crappy apartment before I got stuck in this hell loop”

Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit.

“That is an odd request but I should be able to swing that given enough time, as it seems that you are in a distress due to your current environment would you like to be send to a safe place while I look into that? You would just need to help me out with a little think while you are there, there is someone who would need some mentoring and looking after for a while”

“Yes, I can definitely do that, anything to get away from here”

“Excellent just confirm the changes and I will take care of this for you”

While this was happening a recently ascended Goddess was visiting her late little sisters reincarnated soul’s latest incarnation on the mortal plane in a dream.

“So, you are telling me that your little sister died with regrets and you are here to help me realize them for her as I'm her reincarnated soul?”

“In short, yes, there are a few more reincarnations that happened between then and now but in the end, you have her soul thus in order to help me, help her, fulfil her last wish I will need your co-operation.”

“And just what is it that you would need me to do?”

“You would need to take care of and raise a soul into adulthood, if you take good care of them, you can be rest assured that they will take care of you for the rest of your life after that”

“So, be a caretaker/pet owner for a few years?”

“While I might not word it like that in essence yes.”

“OK so now to the ‘what’s in it for me’ part?”

“I will make sure that the soul you will end up taking care of has knowledge you do not have access to and will be able to teach you and look after you after they are all grown up like I mentioned”

“Just to make sure what would happen in the case that I say yes and no?”

“If you say no, I will wait until your next reincarnation to offer the same deal, as thinks look it should not take long” the goddess says with a pout.

“I guess I'll do it then, not like I have much of a choice if I wish to stay among the living” she says with a sigh.

“Excellent, now off to a proper sleep, big sis will have taken care of everything by the time you wake up” The goddess smiles and claps her hands and the other woman quickly dozes off.

A text box appears in front of the goddess and she begins to type.

“Now to start the incubation by using data from both the ´soul´ and her for a new vessel and then just let’s set that as the ´home´ for that interesting soul and we are all set”

“Congratulation's sis, you're going to become a mommy, just like you always wanted”

She lightly kisses the sleeping woman’s forehead as a tear slips down her cheek as she turns and fades away.
