When I was offered a second chance, I was under the impression that I would be working as a carry-on mentor for my future protégé, like you used to see in all those novels with the grandpa in the ring motif where they would give the MC all they needed to survive in the cruel word before then tragically passing away while saving their life one last time so that they could set off on their path of vengeance and become who they were always meant to be, NOT that I would become their unborn offspring trying to keep my future mother alive.  Just goes to show the age old saying “Always and I do mean always check exactly what it is you are agreeing to do”
