Chapter 29: The Eastern Continent

Eastern Continent

Crescent Blade Sect

“its true!! I saw it the floating island has been pillaged!! young master Musashi you must alert the Sect head now and search for the culprit!” the young man said.

“tsk”

Musashi of the Crescent Blade Sect signaled for the Sect Elders and Elites to move towards the portal and investigate along with the harvester in tow.

After several hours of scouring the entire floating island several times there was no evidence of the culprit that could be found, aside from the wreckage left of what once was a bountiful land.

Just by looking at the pot holes dug up by the culprit a basic sense could be made on haw arranged the plants were in this area.

Even the mineral lodes were just haphazardly mined taking only the highest quality of minerals before leaving.

Musashi then said “what kind of thief is this? They did not even take everything. A pro or an amateur?” the question lingered until one of the Elders arrived.

One of the Sect Elders then said in dismay “ how could such a precious resource node be completely defenseless!?”

And then another chimed in “indeed, I believe everyone would be baffled by the lack of security of such an important place of the entire Sect”

“Truth be told Elders, the previous Sect heads has always left this place unguarded and only left spirit beasts to make their lair in this place so that the defenses would look more natural instead of a beacon that would attract other faction into this place”

Musashi then added “this floating island is currently inside the borders of the Continental Isle since the end of the war 500 years ago. With the current status of the Continental Isle the previous Sect heads decided to put this captured floating island in this place and fill it with resources for future harvest, and since the Continental Isle has been weakened this plan is what we call a calculated risk since we would rather deal with the weakened Continental Isle rather than deal with other Cultivators” he explained

The Sect Elders looked at each other and they could only shrug their shoulders and sigh.

“whats done is done. Crying over this won’t make things any better”

“I assume there is a plan?” an Elder said

Musashi replied “of course there is! Although it was quite unfortunate that all of the highest valuables has already been taken all is not lost. We can still make things better although we would have to divert more man power in this location to defend it and setting formations would also attract unwanted attention so brace yourselves for conflicts in the future”

The Sect Elders and their Elites could only do as what was told to them by the future Sect Head Musashi even though they were also quite disgruntled by the previous setting.

“Leaving a rich resource node completely undefended? Ridiculous!!!” the Elders thought

Musashi could only scratch the back of his head at the light of this racket since as the future Seact Head of the Crescent Blade Sect it should have been part of his responsibility to ensure that places such as this remain protected and unknown to the world.

In just a few days the Crescent Blade Sect mobilized thousands of its disciples to populate and and lay defensive formations on the entire Island.

Ever since the end of the recent war in a mad dash to save the Dragon Veins there have a lot of idle Cultivators lately especially those from the Sects who managed to save their Dragon Veins therefore mobilizing this amount of disciples in just a short amount of time was possible.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Third rate Sects on the other hand who could not save their Dragon Veins could do nothing but work 5 times as hard for less and hope that whatever support the first rate Sects are adequate enough for their survival in the next 5 generations.

Eastern Continent

Flying Fortress

Unknown island

While the disciples and Elders of the Crescent Blade Sect are fortifying the floating island which Sera Hawke robbed.

Sera herself is enjoying a really long vacation on an island near the borders of the Eastern Continent oblivious that she just robbed them blind one of the biggest factions in the Eastern Continent.

The island itself was very desolate typical of any small islands in this part of the ocean. But compared to the several years that Sera stayed in beyond the Continental Border of the Continental Isle and Eastern Continent this desolate island is looking quite the vacation stop for Sera Hawke.

She is currently enjoying a cold magical fruit juice that she took from the floating island while relaxing under the sun as she drank her problems away.

While Bellato on the other hand took the other servants to patrol the island while their Lady Sera unwinds her mind and body from the previous grueling task that she just had to endure to travel into this part of the world.

The moment they entered the Eastern Continent they already felt the power of spiritual energies flowing through their lungs as they breath in. The Eastern Continent is the origin of Cultivation and the Dragon Veins it would only be natural that people like them who also Cultivate would feel comfortable inside its territory.

The feeling was very minuscule and the grand majority of the cultivators would not notice this difference much less outsiders like them.

Because of the recent loss of her golems Sera had to dip inside her vault and use its contents to manufacture and produce another Golem Army since the current ones are currently less than 2,000 and being in a foreign territory does not bode well for her.

Despite no apparent dangers Sera was still ever cautious and would rather not move around this foreign lands without as much as an army at her beck and call. She estimated that it would take several months before her new Golem Army is reformed and until then she would no mind a long beach side vacation.

Continental Isle

While Sera Hawke is enjoying her vacation the allied kingdoms of Dwarves, Elves and Humans are still recuperating and picking themselves up from the devastation of the recent invasion by the Eastern Continent Sect Alliance which would later be known as the War Of Blood Harvest.

Even today many Sect scholars still could not understand why the Dragon Veins would go unstable and how to save them more efficiently, It was quite obvious that if you try to kill people they fight back viciously.

Back at Kaladia City only devastated ruins is what remains. Marianne Vi Kaladia returned with an army to rebuild the city which she inherited from her ancestors.

She pulled a lot of strings and favors from everybody she knew to marshal an army. It was quite unfortunate that the so called Eastern Immortals have long left the Continental Isle.

She could only sigh in defeat as she looked at the rubble and at the gaping hole where Sera Hawke’s magic tower formerly existed. But amidst the rubbles there were thin books scattered at the ground and with a closer look the books were scattered throughout the ruined City of Kaladia.

“Hm? Whats is this?” Marianne asked as she slowly picked the book up.

She brushed the thin book covered in dirt before openeing it, the words at the first page were a huge CULTIVATION MANUAL by Sera Hawke.

“T-THIS IS!?!” at the sudden revelation

She was stunned, all manner of emotion came towards her all at once and she thought “this could change the world!!”

Marianne gathered her most trusted and most Elite forces to gather all books within the City and to leave no stone unturned. She tried to act cool about it her body still slightly shook about her recent discovery.

The books came by the hour and by the end of the day there were no more books that could be found since the entire City has been a battlefield most of the stuff around here were long destroyed either by the fighting of by the elements.

Marianne have a total number of 20 book of Cultivation her hands could not stop shaking as she gave them a cursory glance one by one page by page.

The cultivation manuals were full of detailed instructions about what to or not to do. Like cultivation multiple manuals that are not compatible to each other.

This is the culmination of Sea Hawke’s experiments, most if not everything about the cultivation manuals have been altered by Sera for the better compared to their originals. Unlike the natives of this world quantum computing is not even a concept that they have discovered yet.

And by allowing the quantum computer to run through countless simulations along with Sera’s painstaking experiments resulting into this bundle of cultivation manuals.

Marianne took several cultivation manuals for herself needless to say she took what she thought to be the strongest ones while she planned to auction the rest of the Kingdoms in the Continental Isle she even planned to invite the Elves and Dwarves to maximize her profits.

This is also a good time to forge a closer alliance to the Elves and the Dwarves. Majority of the night she only thought and planned the event of the auction to disseminate the cultivation manuals.

With this method the Eastern Cultivators would no longer be as threatening in the future. Not only methods of cultivation was written in the manual but also how to concoct cultivation pills and elixirs.

With the recent invasion of the Eastern Cultivators these cultivation manuals would definitely sell like crazy especially to the powerhouses of the Continental Isle. She even plan to sell some of the manuals through a back door deal to the factions that would offer her benefits.

“this must be Sera Hawke’s last ditch effort to fight back against the Eastern Cultivators” Marianne thought

Eastern Continent

Metal Sect

An elderly man made a deep sigh of regret shaking his head as he read the letter.

It said that if the Third Rate Metal Sect wants to maintain is territory it should sell their precious spirit and heavenly metal mines to the First Rate Sects in exchange for its support otherwise other Sects would not hesitate to strike at them.

Even though they did not participate in the Blood Harvest their forces are still dwarfed by the Second Rate Sects who could not secure their own Dragon Veins.

Their mines were the legacy of their Metal Sect since it contains a secret. One of their Heavenly metal mines even though it only produces low quality Heavenly Metal is still quite valuable and have been eyed by the other Sects.

Nobody knew except the Sect Heads that this particular mine could continuously produce Heavenly Metal as long as the mines were fed by spiritual energies. Its discovery created the foundations of the Metal Sect today.

Now that their Dragon Veins is gone they could only rely on their mines to support their Cultivation. The current Sect Head of the Metal Sect is now being forced to make a quick decision, to sell their mines in exchange for support or hold their ground.

Most Sect Elders and Inner Disciples are persistent in holding their ground since their Sect did not participate in the invasion of the Continental Isle keeping their number quite high for a third rate sect.

“you do understand that once we decided to fight many of us could die right?” said the Sect Head

And without hesitation the Elders unanimously said “of course! But giving up our only source of strength is not any better to be at the mercy of another. We might as well as fight to the end and bleed them at least we could deter them, after all all participants in the invasion are still hurting since they barely won that war”

With a sigh of determination the Sect Head then said “Alright. Recall all of our disciples and ready our defenses we make our stand!”

“you have made the right choice Sect Head! I have heard that the Sects that succumbed to the graces of the first rate sects aren’t doing any better either as if they lost their identity as an independent Sect and are being treated as servants”

“mm, even though the situation is grim it is yet far from hopeless. Let us prepare for the worst and hope for the best tis the only thing we can do for now”

With that he dismissed everyone.
