Prologue: The girl who didn't remember her own name

Static. Static was everything you could hear, or sense, really. Everything was pitch black to the point you couldn't even see your own hands and you couldn't even feel whether you were moving or not, as if you were floating in some kind of infinite void from which escape was not an option. But this sensation only lasted for a few seconds before you abruptly woke up.

As you looked around your room, you quickly realized that it had been a dream. You sighed in relief and yawned, way more relaxed than you were before. As you stood up, you could see a soft breeze caress your cheeks. The windows of your room were open, causing the white curtains to wave with the air current's flow. As you looked mesmerized at the alternating shadows caused by the curtain's movement, a sudden question ran through your mind. Where were you? Then, a second question stroke harder: What was your own name?

Your calm demeanour quickly disappeared once you asked yourself the same question a second time. What was your name? No matter how much you thought about it, it didn't make any sense. You remember that you know how to play some instruments, you remember that you have vertigo and you remember your love for beer, but there was no information about anybody in your memories. No parents, no friends, no lovers, and not even yourself.

Suddenly, a slimy noise completely derailed your train of thought. Still shaking, you looked at your feet, only to find a round, green and soft-looking individual looking up at you. Your body stopped shaking immediately, and instead entered a fight or flight stance, although you remained inmobile while your body was deciding which one was the fitting response for the situation. The slime finally talked with a childish and raspy voice.
