2. Rule of Order

2. Rule of Order

In the expansive expanse of the cosmos, a gentle tremor resonated across space. The lack of an order resulted in small ruptures, yet they did not grow in significance.

Suddenly, amidst the fabric of existence, a figure materialized. Draped in resplendent golden and white garments, the figure exuded an aura of authority.

Clutching a small book with a glossy red cover, the figure observed the instability of Constellation 112. "The Order has forsaken the influence of the void?" the figure mused aloud, casting its gaze upon a distant blue planet within the constellation.

In the the other hand, he wielded a magnificent staff, adorned with intricate golden motifs and exuding an aura of authority.

Still staring at the planet before it, the figure pondered the abandonment of its position by The Order. Yet, a more perplexing question lingered:

"How does this constellation endure stability?"

The Order is tasked with upholding the fabric's stability above all else, though they must also attend to the unending demands of the fabric. Without the intervention of The Order, this constellation would gradually, then rapidly, fade away, assimilating into the ever-expanding void.

However, contrary to expectations, aside from a few minor ruptures, the constellation remains intact.

With a practiced motion, the figure opened the familiar book and perused its pages, seeking insight into this perplexing anomaly.

It read: Law Seven (Rule of Order): All actions conducted by The Order must align with the directives of The Rulers, the overseers of the fabric.

It was one of the seven laws detailed in The Book. It signified that The Order of each constellation operated under the governance of The Rulers, ensuring the stability of their respective domains.

Instability posed the risk of Constellation 112 succumbing to The Void—a realm of nothingness.

As the figure was lost in contemplation, a sudden interruption jolted him from his thoughts.

"Who are you?" a voice whispered from the depths of the void. The figure barely heard it amidst the silence. With closed eyes, obscured by the attire covering its head, the figure responded.

"I am Gladiel, an enforcer serving The Rulers. I have come here upon detecting slight instability within your constellation," Gladiel stated, tilting his head downward as he spoke. "And who are you? How do you communicate from The Void?"

Gloria remained solitary within The Void, where endless nothingness stretched as far as the eye could perceive—a vast, empty canvas.

"I am Gloria," she replied softly, "I am unfamiliar with this 'Void' you mention, yet it seems to be around me. Surrounded by emptiness, oddly enough, I find contentment in it." A gentle smile graced Gloria's lips as she spoke. "An enforcer, you say?"

Gladiel affirmed, "Indeed, I am tasked with ensuring adherence to the laws outlined in The Book. My duty is to enforce the will of The Rulers."

Gloria remained within the void, deep in thought, contemplating the implications of their exchange. "Although I do not fully comprehend your words," she began, "from you, I sense an air of authority, emanating a sense of purpose."

With closed eyes, the figure acknowledged that this conversation might not yield much information. Nevertheless, he continued to engage, voicing his thoughts aloud. "Constellation 112, or your world, remains stable despite The Order's departure. You reside in The Void, and your keen observance is evident. Do you have any insight into his whereabouts?"

At times, The Rulers would discard The Order, rendering their authority obsolete and leading to the Order's demise. This often resulted in remnants and instability within the constellation. However, in Constellation 112, no remnants of The Order or signs of increasing instability were evident. Despite the absence of Order, the Constellation endured.

Gloria pondered the remark for a few moments, feeling a hint of hesitation before responding. "I sense your concern," she began, "but fear not, he has not forsaken us. I can still perceive his presence."

Meanwhile, Gladiel, perplexed by Gloria's assurance, stood in silence, lost in thought.

Constellation 112 remained stable, a puzzling anomaly that defied understanding. Yet, as long as stability endured, it would remain immune to the encroaching void. There were deeper concerns demanding attention.

Within his thoughts, Gladiel grappled with the constant stream of pleas from other constellations teetering on the brink of oblivion. The Rulers had remained silent for centuries, their once-united effort to halt the spread of the void now a distant memory. Today, burdened with the task of maintaining temporary stability across constellations until the Rulers awoke to restore overarching order, Gladiel carried a heavy weight.

He stood among the dwindling ranks of those who remained steadfast in enforcing the will of The Rulers, among the few who held onto their faith. Those who had forsaken their duties had either fallen into silence or rebelled, becoming what was now known as The Fallen.

Amidst the echoes of battle cries from his comrades locked in combat with their former allies, the once-unified front they had maintained under the governance of The Rulers seemed like a distant memory. Yet, despite the chaos, Gladiel persevered in fulfilling his duties.

Exhaustion weighed heavily upon him, the toll of battling his kind was devastating. "Oh, how I wish The Rulers would awaken," he lamented aloud, recalling a fierce confrontation with his closest friend:

GLADIEL'S ENCOUNTER WITH RAZAHOUL

Sparks ignited in the vast expanse of space as two figures collided with unyielding intensity. One brandished a formidable staff, skillfully dodging each onslaught from the other, who relentlessly pressed forward with a staff of their own.

Their clashes created ruptures in the constellation. Any further strife would push it beyond the brink of repair, even for an Enforcer.

"Gladiel, can't you see? The Rulers have forsaken us. We must reject their authority and unite our powers to enact radical change!" His former ally, a friend, pressed on, advancing with his staff poised for attack.

Disbelief etched across his features, Gladiel parried the onslaught, their weapons locked in a fierce struggle. With a surge of strength, Gladiel forced him back, creating a brief respite.

"Razahoul, how have you succumbed to Diens influence?" Gladiel's voice resonated with sorrow and confusion. "Do you not have faith in The Book? The fabric of existence teeters on the brink of instability. We must cease this conflict and join forces to restore the constellations, lest we lose them to The Void!"

"Gladiel, a temporary solution won't save us. We can no longer rely on The Rulers. It's time we take control of the Constellations ourselves!" Razahoul continued, his voice resonating with determination. "We are at a standstill right now. Diens and I have already swayed Aetherion to our cause. With three of us on our side and three of you, we will soon persuade Thanus as well, and then we will have a vote!"

A vote served as the Enforcers' method of settling disputes in the absence of guidance from The Rulers. While effective in the past, the escalating rate of losses to The Void had plunged them into a desperate struggle. With Thanus missing and the remaining six Enforcers evenly split in their opinions, the situation had become increasingly dire.

As they continued their relentless exchange, each move met with a calculated counter, Gladiel sensed the gravity of the situation. "Diens harbors nefarious intentions," he exclaimed amidst their clash. "He seeks to dissolve us into his remnant, seizing control of our combined powers to launch a retaliatory strike against The Rulers and annihilate them in their slumber!"

The battle raged on until they lost that Constellation to the chaos. They were meant to guard the constellations in the absence of rulers, waiting for them to awaken, but now they are in conflict. It broke Gladiels heart.

At such a critical juncture, engaging in conflict seemed counterproductive, especially now. The encroaching threat of The Void loomed ever larger, devouring all that was unstable. Gladiel understood the urgency of the situation—they needed to take action. Yet, he held onto a glimmer of hope, trusting in The Rulers to intervene before catastrophe struck. As Enforcers, they possessed the ability to buy precious time by repairing some of the fractures in the constellations.

Years had passed since that battle. Yet, the scheming of these traitors persisted, lurking in the shadows and biding their time. They awaited the moment when the constellations teetered on the brink of instability, poised to strike when they could ensure their victory.

Their plan was to seize the power from the remnants of the fallen Enforcers and merge it with their own, enhancing their strength and solidifying their grip on the cosmos.

Thus, they became collectively known as The Fallen, with Diens as their leader.

Gladiel led the remaining group of three Enforcers, steadfast in their commitment to fulfill their duties.

END OF GLADIEL'S ENCOUNTER WITH RAZAHOUL

After recounting the tumultuous events of the past, Gladiel found himself returning to the present moment. With a sigh, he acknowledged the weight of his memories and the gravity of the ongoing situation.

Turning his attention back to Gloria, he uttered, "I bid you farewell," his voice tinged with a sense of resolve. And with that, Gladiel vanished into the fabric, his duty calling him to yet another Constellation in need of him. Gladiel an Enforcer
