Surrounded by emptiness, I find myself amidst a vast expanse of nothingness, akin to a blank canvas awaiting a stroke of inspiration. Once, this void held excitement, a realm where creation and destruction danced in perpetual motion.
Yet, this cycle has become all too familiar. Creating, destroying, and repeating, but for what purpose? Am I beholden to the rulers and laws of the universe? Though omniscient, I am not bound by their dictates. Still, even the most supreme beings must heed the laws that govern existence.
Our existence is intertwined with the fabric of these laws, sculpting reality based on their whims. Yet, at this moment, the cosmic tapestry remains silent, devoid of directives or desires. Thus, there is no impetus for creation or destruction. Simply put, there is no discernible purpose.
In this liminal space, I exist without reason, no longer tethered by the laws that once guided my actions. So, I beseech the rulers, questioning why they have condemned me to purposelessness.
Yet, my plea echoes into the void, met only by silence as the rulers themselves remain mute, leaving me adrift in the emptiness of uncertainty.
In the midst of the cosmic fabrics, I lay engulfed in insignificance, pondering my existence. A realization dawns upon me – if the fabric demands nothing of me, am I truly bound to remain within this void? Could I simply depart, leaving behind this emptiness?
Yet, as I contemplate this notion, a sobering truth emerges – nothing exists beyond the rulers. I am intricately woven into the fabric of this space, integral to its very sustenance. Leaving would precipitate the collapse of this void.
For the first time, I feel a surge of autonomy, a stirring within me to create without the guidance of the rulers. Acting upon my own volition, I shape a blue planet adorned with vast landscapes, imbued with consciousness - Surrounded by a debris field, a radiant star that emitted light, and another that mirrored its brilliance in its absence.
As I observe, this consciousness flourishes and evolves, its inhabitants – the humans – finding contentment amid their world.
However, amidst this harmony, strife emerges as some wield their capabilities for destruction. Though I refrain from interference, I am drawn to a particular individual on this planet.
With her consciousness restored, I command the fabric to reunite her soul with her body, preparing her for an awakening to behold my presence.
As she opens her eyes, tears glisten, her luscious hair framing her face. I, an immortal being, stand before her, intrigued by this mortal encounter.
Her joyful expression prompts me to inquire, "What is it that you seek?"
Pausing thoughtfully, she gazes into the void, pondering her response. Though I possess the ability to anticipate her thoughts, I choose to momentarily relinquish this power, desiring the spontaneity of her answer.
"I find contentment in your presence. I wish to behold you for eternity," she declares, her smile radiant.
Despite her earnest words, a profound disappointment washes over me. I realize I've posed a question without an answer I possess.
"Then so be it. You shall have the privilege of watching my presence forever," I reply, masking my inner turmoil as I grant her wish.
As her energy dissipates from my presence, I find myself once again immersed in the silence of the void, pondering a question that lingers in my mind: "What is it that I seek?"

Receiving no response from the void, I repeat the inquiry, this time seeking guidance: "What is it that I should seek?"
In the stillness, I sense a wave of sadness, emanating from the mortal I had encountered earlier. Intrigued, I delve into the depths of the void, searching for the source of this melancholy.
To my astonishment, I uncover a remnant of her thoughts—a recollection of her past experiences. She was a woman entrenched in conflict and destruction, regretful of the harm she had inflicted upon others. Despite her prowess as a warrior, she had been led astray by malevolent influences, her capabilities misused for nefarious ends.
Summoning her soul once more, I inquire, "Why do you harbor such sadness when I have granted your deepest desire?"
With her head bowed in reverence, she replies, "My lord, throughout my life, I yearned for your presence, and now, in death, I find myself closer to you than ever before." Raising her gaze to the void, she continues, "I deeply regret the actions that may have disappointed you. Your mercy in allowing me this proximity despite my transgressions humbles me."
As I ponder her words, I realize that while I may have fulfilled her wish momentarily, the concept of mercy transcends my realm of understanding. The consequences of her actions lie within the fabric of laws, where her energy may be subjected to cycles of pain and regret—a complexity of feelings that elude my comprehension. They lie in the fabric of the void itself.
As I engaged in conversation with her, I delved into the depths of her life experiences, tapping into the essence of her energy as she recounted moments of joy and betrayal. Each detail, though familiar to me, resonated with profound depth, unveiling the complexity of her journey.
In a moment of contemplation, I came to a profound realization – her seemingly ordinary life held layers of intricacy, each word carrying a weight of significance. As I sat with this realization, I posed a question to her: "Would you willingly endure the pain of your past if given the opportunity to relive it?"
Without hesitation, she replied, "Yes, my lord."
Perplexed by her response, I probed further, seeking understanding. "Why?" I inquired.
Her smile remained unwavering as she responded, "Because I was blessed to behold you."
Despite her conviction, I struggled to comprehend her willingness to endure such hardship merely for the chance to witness my presence.
Right, I was only Playing God. Simply a being for the fabric to manifest itself through.
But why did the fabric not speak to me? I had no direction.
I recalled my subject, I never asked for her name, but I knew it "Gloria, do you think I should live as you have, among the people you lived with?"
Her expression betrayed confusion as she awaited further elaboration, but none came. After a prolonged silence, she ventured a response, uncertain yet candid. "My lord, I cannot say. While you govern all, I have sensed a profound emptiness in your presence since you allowed me to observe. I cannot articulate its nature."
I ordered her dismissal, and she disappeared from my presence.
With a nod, I dismissed her from my presence, sensing her regret over her candidness. As she faded away, I remained amidst the void, contemplating her words.
"Immense emptiness," she had said. I am omniscient, YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM!
In a moment of uncharacteristic frustration, the void trembled around me, threatening to destabilize my existence. Swiftly, I intervened, repairing the fractures in space before returning to my contemplation.
As I gazed upon the blue planet, my attention fixated on a solitary figure laboring on a vast farm. With a mere thought, I willed myself into his form.
I willed it, and so I became the man.
----- End of Chapter 0 - Playing God -----
I do not dictate heaven or hell; they are determined solely by your destiny. They are just concepts to me.
