Allenia Vark
Allenia’s morning started as it usually did, she got up and poured herself a cup of coffee. Unlike many things from Earth, coffee had survived the destruction of Earths culture. Good thing, because coffee was Allenia’s drug. It was more addicting than any narcotic she had ever tried. She got dressed and left her room. The Block was full of people as it always was. Warlords looking for workers and bounty hunters looking for work. This system kept the Galdier Guild in business. Allenia walked down the stairs to the ground floor of The Block into the main hallway. Though The Block was teeming with people, the main hallway was relatively empty. Allenia’s comm vibrated in her pocket. She picked it up. It was Leven. Leven was one of the only people she admired in the Galdier Guild. He was tough, loyal, and skilled; he never missed a beat. Allenia picked up her comm and opened it.
“Hey, Allenia.” said Leven with a lighthearted smile.
“Hi, Leven,” sighed Allenia, “What do you need?”
“Iros needs you, you have a mission.” whispered Leven, as if having a job was supposed to be secret. Hunters often bragged about how many jobs they get, say that clients hire them personally.
“Ok, I’ll be there by 9:30,” said Allenia, “Bye.” She waved at Leven’s image and closed her comm. She hadn’t gotten a job specifically from Iros in a long time. Iros was another person she admired in the guild. She was strong, smart, and a leader. Iros brought up the guild with nothing but strength and discipline. She was as formidable as they come.
When Allenia arrived at the doors to the Jade Office, Leven was there to greet her.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
“Hey, you’re late.” said Leven with an annoyed tone.
“I arrived exactly when I meant to.” said Allenia. Leven rolled his eyes.
“Ha Ha, always the joker.” sighed Leven. He entered the door’s passcode and stepped back. The doors of the Jade Office opened.
“Great to see you again, Allenia,” announced Iros, “It’s been a while.” Iros’s ebony eyes contrasted with her almost translucent skin. She was tall with a good build. She had white and gold garments that fell just below her knees. Her cape was a navy blue with bronze markings. She was the last of her species, the rest had been disintegrated in the destruction of her homeworld.
“Nice to see you too.” said Allenia with a smirk.
“I have a job for you.” said Iros. A guard gave Allenia tablet. “The briefing is on that tablet, read it.” commanded Iros. Allenia silently bowed and left the room.
Allenia arrived back at her room and read over the mission.

Shit. Allenia had grown up in the republic and could never forget the nightmare that it was. She was left to the streets and beat by passing nobles. She begged and often went days without food or water. The Republic of Telos abandoned her. Allenia was almost happy to kill someone on their soil until she read Bring back alive. She had never needed to bring back a target alive before, this person must be important. Allenia packed everything she would need: rations, water, pistol, currency, and of course; her rifle. Allenia’s rifle had seen much action even before she was born. It was her father’s once, when he was a hunter. He wasn’t famous, but he had a 100 percent success rate. So far, so did Allenia, and she planned to keep it that way.
