One year ago today, I released "The Posol", the first chapter of the absolute MONSTER of a writing endeavor that God Within Us would become. I was planning to publish my work on Wordpress, and were it not for a good friend recommending Royal Road as a platform, God Within Us would very likely never have seen the light of day on RR.
How glad I am that it did.
Since that first chapter, God Within Us has ballooned to a staggering fifty-three chapters, and over a quarter-million words. I had always been a big fan of fantasy, and of creative writing - but God Within Us is the first project that's really stuck with me, and that I've stuck with for such a long time.
Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings.
And a big part of the reason why I've stuck with the project is YOU, the readers, and all the engagement and community that I've managed to find on Royal Road. Knowing that my work is really out there, and not just sitting on my own hard drive, has helped me find the strength to keep pushing on, keep thinking on how to resolve plot holes and knots, and going back to re-write, re-draft, and re-think.
I want to give a big thanks to everyone who's come along with me for the ride. Big thanks especially to:
- kingdragonmoon, for the fan work and being my feedback board for ideas
- Halflite, for keeping me on my toes with grammar
- HWPerfidy, for the beautiful cover art and their massively insightful review
- My mom, for being subjected to my wild brainstorming
It's been a wonderful journey so far, and I can't wait to see it through to the end.
