[Chapter 1]

The autumn wind blew along the multicolored leaves of the trees as the sun shine its radiant light down upon the hard, rough surface of the earth.

A drifting velvet leaf swirls along the wind, slowly lands in front of a clear glass window resting in peace from the long journey. On the opposite side of the window, approximately 30 students can be seen writing things down on paper as they listen to a beautiful teacher wearing her standard works clothes have long black hair like the night sky and oval face with snow white glamorous skin showing off the air of nobility.

"Ding! Dong! Dang! Dong!"

The bell ring its familiar melody indicating it was the end of the school day. Almost immediately every student let out a long sigh and drop their writing utensils.

"Class ends here, Have a nice day and remember to go home safe," the teacher spoke loudly with a warm smile evident on her face.

Shuffles of papers and folders resounded in the classroom as many students in blue uniforms rose from their seats and begin to chatter.

"Hey, Daniel let's go skating with the girls from the class next door," a student wraps his arm around the student next to him and smiled.

"Sorry bro, I gotta go with my girl today, you know what I mean but hey, you can ask Morgan if he can go with you guys," Daniel smiled and walk towards a female student waiting for him outside the classroom.

The other students all fell silence and frown from Daniel mentioning Morgan.

"Morgan!? Did Daniel say Morgan?" a student suddenly broke the silence

"...Morgan is a loner, he won't come with us" another student said

All the other male students nodded in agreement. They have been in class for approximately three months already and haven't seen Morgan with any body rather it was a boy or a girl.

The student who ask Daniel to come along sighed, he was one of the students who known Morgan for all three years of highschool so he know what kind of personality Morgan have even though he doesn't pay attention to him.

The student slowly walk towards the corner of the room where an average height, short black-haired eighteen year old youth is slowly packing up his supplies.

"Roger, are you seriously going to ask?" one of the students ask with a deep frown.

Sighing once again Roger shrugged his shoulders "Maybe he'll say yes this time, who knows," saying this he sped up his walking.

"Hey, Morgan we're going skating with the girls next door, do you w-"

Lifting up his hand to Interrupt Roger, Morgan zip up his bag and toss it over his shoulder "Sorry, I'm going to the art club" he immediately walk out the classroom oblivious to the scornful looks of the male students.

"See, I told you Roger. That kid is fill with arrogance"

Clutching his fists tightly Roger quickly turn around and walk out of the classroom "Come on we'll go without him!"

Meanwhile walking through the hallways with a tranquil smile on his face is Morgan. Everyday he would go to the art room and paint, even though Morgan doesn't have any friends he doesn't feel lonely at all, to him painting is his one and only friend. Continuing down the hall way, a sign with the name "Art club" came into his view. Opening the door the familiar room came into his view. Paint buckets and brushes is scattered on the very long desk of the room while approximately 6 canvases and stools surrounds an old white statue which gives out the aura of beauty.

Dropping his bag on the ground without care, Morgan immediately grab a nearby stool, paint, and paint brush and sat down in front of a canvas.

Peering at the statue calmness swept him as he dips the brush inside of the paint and begin painting, from blue to violet he use all the colors as his imagination run free from his grasp.

In his own world time flew by quickly, suddenly the art room door open revealing the beautiful teacher from Morgan's class, Morgan still entrance his painting didn't know that the teacher was staring at his art work with agape mouth and eyes full of surprise and praise.

"Wow, Morgan every time I see your paintings I've always been shock beyond words" the teacher murmur to herself.

She known Morgan ever since he was in first year of his highschool year, day by day she watch him paint which always intrigue her. How can only a highschool student paint like a professional painter? He's a genius is what she always thought.

Morgan's ears twitch as his hands stop painting. Beads of sweat slowly pour down Morgan's forehead as he turn  towards the teacher and with a light smile, he said "Oh good afternoon Miss Foster, I didn't notice you were here"

Puffing up her flushed red cheeks , Miss Foster replied "Humph! Are we seriously going to do this every day, you always say this . Anyways what are you painting?"

"Oh sorry, well I'm painting that statue over there. You can't see the resemblance?" Morgan ask.

"Oh so that what you was drawing, but from my perspective this seem like a river, trees...and rabbits? Are you sure you was drawing that statue?"

"Ahh, I did it again didn't I?" Morgan wryly smiled.

This would happen time to time when Morgan gets too into his painting, his body and eyes would betray him while his imaginary run free.

"Well I'll finish it and sell it on eBay,"

Well at least he can earn money for the month.

"Morgan since I'm a teacher and all , I never really ask the  question that was on mind every since I saw you painting, if you don't mind can I ask that question" Miss Foster cautiously says.

"Mmm..sure what is it"

"Well OK then, why do you always paint and sell them instead of keeping it" Miss foster inquired.

Leaning back and forth in stool, Morgan said "To earn money of course, I need to pay for my grandmother hospital bill every month, without the income from my paintings. The only family I've left will be dead," Morgan long since stop wobbling on his stool as an aura of an abandon dog oozes out of him.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

The only family Morgan have left in this world  is his grandmother who's currently very ill, his mother and father died in an unfortunate incident when he was only three years old which brought Morgan's grandmother to take care of him. And he's extremely grateful of that.

"O- I'm sorry I shouldn't have ask a personal questions....if you want I can giv-"

Lifting up his hand, Morgan stop Miss Foster before she can finish her sentence "No, I'm grateful for your concern but what if the school find out you giving money to a student. That wouldn't be good for you or me"

Miss Foster smiled wryly. She already knew Morgan was going to say this but she couldn't but suggest it, in front her Morgan isn't another regular student but a strong-willed adult.

Frowning she sighed "Well if you ever want something I'll always be here to help you," Getting up from the stool Miss Foster took one long look at Morgan's unfinished painting  "I wonder what his future achievements as an artist will be like" Miss Foster said in her heart and left.

It was at this moment a vibrating feeling erupted from Morgan's uniform jeans pocket. Quickly he grab his flip phone from his pants and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hello Mr.Madox, I'm calling here today from the Lilburn county hospital, your grandmother suddenly had a severe stroke. It'll be best if you can quickly come over just in case if she , you know..."

Morgan's heartbeat slow down tremendously as his body quivered "Y-yes I-I'll be right there!" Snapping his phone shut, Morgan quickly grab his bag and ran out the art clubroom.

....

"Grandmother! Grandmother! Are you OK?"

Entering the hospital room Morgan yell in a hoarse voice fill with worry. His heartbeat beat grew louder and louder with every step he take. If he lose his grandmother wouldn't that mean he'll be alone in this world? No he couldn't accept it!

Morgan's lips quiver as he peered inside the curtains surrounding the hospital bed. There he finds his grandmother peacefully sleeping, she had shirt white hair with a face full of wrinkles indicating how old she is.

Letting out a long breath of relief , Morgan grab the nearby stool and sat down while grasping her hand tightly.

"Thank god...sniff...thank god" Morgan constantly murmur to himself as tears form in his eyes

At this moment, Morgan hear sounds of footsteps from behind the door. He couldn't help but look back and saw a male doctor with long black hair who can be considered very handsome.

"Um...sorry for the sudden interruption but I came here because your grandmother hospital bill this month" the doctor said while sitting in a black roiling chair.

"Sniff...oh OK, I'm sorry I'm a mess right now"

The doctor smiled,"It's OK, I'll be in the same position if I was you"

"I'm ok now, give me the bill"

Nodding the doctor handed over the documents to Morgan. Seeing the bill Morgan suck in a deep breath "H-how can I pay for this!? This is over three times more than it was last month!" Morgan felt hopeless, maybe he shouldn't have thank the gods too early.

"I know the bill is a little high-

"A little!? 500,000$ is a little high!?"

"OK calm down, I have a solution to your problem"

"And what's that!?" Morgan ask with frustration in his voice.

Smirking , the doctor said "We've this new drug we're testing and we need a person to test it on. Don't worry we already tested it on animals and now all we need is to test it on a human being and that's when you come in. If you sign the necessary papers and take the drug we'll clear your bill, not only that but we'll cut half your grandmother's bill for the next six months"

Hearing this Morgan became intrigue in the offer. However he was still hesitant, if the drug goes wrong what'll happen to him. Will he die? Become a vegetable? Morgan eyes grew serious as a fleeting glint of light flashed in his eyes. "I have to do it for my grandmother" Morgan said in his heart.

"OK, where do I sign?"

Hearing Morgan response, the doctor smiled "Now, wait to be sure, you're eighteen right?"

"Yes"

"Ok then follow me to the other room" saying this the doctor got up and departed the room

Morgan nodded and followed the doctor.

....

In a room filled with different bottles of liquids, cabinets, and chairs is Morgan who is laying down in a recliner chair.

After just a short period of time, the doctor returned with a twenty-centimeter long needle that was extremely thin and sat down in front of Morgan. Smiling the doctor gather the necessary utensils for the drug injection and grab Morgan's arm

"Are you sure you want to do this?" The doctor ask.

Biting his bottom lip Morgan slowly nodded "I'm sure" He had no choice but to, if he don't do this then his grandmother won't have the necessary care she needs and if that happens she'll die.

Not wasting time, the doctor rub alcohol on his arm and immediately stick the needle inside. Morgan couldn't help but wince in pain. Suddenly a buzz feeling erupted inside Morgan's head like a person who's drunk. Slowly Morgan senses begin to dim as he lost all movement in his body.

Suddenly the doctor smile broadly which quickly turns into an insane person laugh.

Seeing this scene Morgan knew something is terribly wrong, gathering tremendous amounts of strength, Morgan open his mouth, "W-what did you....do.....t....to....me?"

"Oh nothing, just a sleeping drug. Have a sweet dream" the doctor laughed.

Morgan eyes slowly close as his mind was envelop in darkness.
