Chapter 18 - “The Journey to the Dragon Egg”

Marcus and his soldiers, along with Captain Knight Sir Cedric, went out from the Noble party and then they went to the forest to rested for more few days to regain their strength and prepare for the arduous journey ahead, The time had come to embark on their quest for the Dragon Egg, a legendary egg said to possess immense power. They gathered their gear and set out at dawn, their hearts filled with determination and anticipation.

As they ventured deeper into the wilderness, the path grew more treacherous. They encountered a group of marauders, notorious for their savagery and brutality. These marauders were feared for their heinous acts of attacking and violating their victims. Their leader, a knight of merely Lower High rank, led two Low Middle Knights and several Lowly Lower Knights who thought highly of themselves. However, they were no match for the combined might of Marcus and Sir Cedric. The battle was over in a matter of moments, with Marcus and Sir Cedric defeating them with the speed and precision of a single breath.

Continuing their journey, they stumbled upon a horde of goblins and a formidable ogre. The goblins attacked with reckless abandon, while the ogre's brute strength posed a significant threat. Marcus and Sir Cedric fought valiantly, their blades cutting through the horde. The battle was grueling, but they managed to overcome the odds, leaving a trail of defeated foes in their wake.

Finally, they reached the entrance of a dark, foreboding cave. Marcus ordered his soldiers and Sir Cedric to wait outside, sensing that the final challenge lay within. As he ventured into the cave alone, a sense of unease washed over him. The air was thick with the scent of decay, and the walls seemed to pulse with an otherworldly energy.

Deeper into the cave, Marcus discovered the lifeless body of a dragon, its massive form sprawled protectively over a mysterious object. The sight was both awe-inspiring and tragic. The dragon's scales shimmered faintly in the dim light, and its eyes, though lifeless, still held a glint of fierce determination.

Ignoring the warnings of his companions, Marcus approached the fallen dragon. He could feel the power emanating from the object it guarded—a dragon egg. He knew that obtaining it would grant him unparalleled strength. Drawing upon his training, Marcus used the Sword Heart technique, a powerful skill that channeled his inner energy into his blade. As he did, he felt a strange connection to the dragon, as if their fates were intertwined.

The injured dragon, sensing Marcus's presence, stirred weakly. Its voice, though faint, echoed in Marcus's mind. "Arrogant young human... what do you seek?" it asked, its tone filled with a mix of disdain and curiosity.

Marcus, undeterred, replied, "I seek the power to protect my choice and self"

The dragon's eyes narrowed, scrutinizing Marcus. "You possess a strange energy, human. One that I have not encountered before." It coughed weakly, its strength fading. "Why did you kill our last noble prince? Our dragon realm is nearly destroyed in the upper worlds by you silly humans and lowly evils. Why, even in the mortal realm, are you all still the same?"

With those final words, the dragon breathed its last, leaving Marcus with a profound sense of loss and resolve. The weight of the dragon's words lingered, a stark reminder of the complexities of power and the devastation it could bring. Power did indeed come at a cost, a cost Marcus was willing to pay. In a previous life, he might have been called a kind person, but in this life, he was neither kind nor evil. His choices defined him; he was simply himself. He then carefully lifted the egg, its surface warm and pulsating with life. As he examined it, he noticed a skeleton of a man nearby, clutching a note. The note that skeleton person had revealed drinking dragon blood on says that it could bestow incredible strength and enhance one's bloodline.

Intrigued and determined, Marcus made a fateful decision. He would wait for the egg to hatch, and once it did, he would slay the dragon slowly, transferring its bloodline to himself. This act would transform him into a being of immense power—half Noble Prince Dragon and half human.

Days turned into weeks as Marcus waited patiently for the egg to hatch. He meditated and trained, honing his skills and preparing for the transformation that awaited him. Finally, the egg cracked, and a small, noble dragon emerged. Its scales gleamed with an ethereal light, and its eyes held a wisdom far beyond its years.

Marcus knew what he had to do. With a heavy heart, he took the dragon's life, absorbing its bloodline and power. The transformation was excruciating, his body wracked with pain as the dragon's essence merged with his own. But as the process completed, Marcus felt an overwhelming surge of strength and vitality.

He had become something more—something greater. Half Noble Prince Dragon, half human, he now possessed the power to reshape more of his destiny in any worlds with just that bloodline alone even if he didn’t have much death soul points and his body will not talented with just 2 simulations to transfer abilities from this world and the other. The journey had changed him in ways he could never have imagined, and as he emerged from the cave, his soldiers and Sir Cedric noticed some improvement in his strength but he didn’t know how but then he removed this thought from himself he didn’t want to disrespected the young master in any ways.

After months when they returned to the Palace of the old voss family on the Village of Eirene, which there palace name also now known as Palace of Eirene, Marcus couldn't help but replay the dragon's final words in his mind. “Why did you kill our last noble prince? Our dragon realm is nearly destroyed in the upper worlds by you silly humans and lowly evils. Why, even in the mortal realm, are you all still the same?”

Marcus thought to himself towards the dying Dragon last words, shocked, “So maybe the so-called Magicians that were in here went to the upper realms? And there are more, probably more Mortal realms too? And I’m right now in a mortal realm?”
