Chapter 3: Delay
Bai Yang hid behind a big tree and thought deeply about a few things he had previously ignored.
Looking at his soft white fur, short hooves and he was certain he was an ordinary goat. Such an animal is ordinary in every way, both in this world and back on earth.
Bai Yang who came from an era of information knew that the average life span of a normal goat was just under 20 years.
However looking at the simulation life, he lived to be more than 50 years and this was not his maximum life span. He was not sure how much longer he could have lived if not for the accidental deaths.
After thinking up to this point, Bai Yang had a guess. Feeling the warm current of qi in his body he felt a certain sense of comfort.
This qi probably had life-extending properties and his increased life span was a result of this.
Bai Yang felt more motivated after thinking about increasing his life span. He wondered if the martial arts practice had an end and how long top martial artists could live.
Anyways, the prerequisite for all of this was to use the life simulator. To use this cheat he still needed money and a lot of it at that.
However, before that, Bai Yang looked at the resting caravan and his eyes drifted to Cao Wu for a brief moment.
The people of Cao village had been kind to him for many years. Cao Wu could even be considered a teacher as the first martial art he learned was obtained from imitating him.
According to the simulator, after two days, this caravan would encounter a hunting party and be wiped out completely.
Even though there was no ranked martial artist among the merchant group, there were still several people on the same level as Cao Wu in terms of martial skill. This is why they could travel across the mountain ranges of Chaozheng relatively easily, unafraid of wild beasts and poisonous insects.
However, such a party was completely slaughtered after encountering the Liu family hunting party. At the same time, Bai Yang who was close by could only escape as a Rank 9 Martial Artist which meant that this hunting party was a boss-like existence to Bai Yang and the merchant group.
Therefore as someone with a skill similar to prediction, Bai Yang could not just sit and wait to be slaughtered.
Therefore, Bai Yang began the operation delay in secret. As the caravan group was using the only dirt path to travel through the Chaozheng mountain range Bai Yang's mission was not that difficult.
He only had to go ahead of the group and make sure the path they took was less than friendly.
As a Rank 9 Martial Artist, it was not too difficult to move heavy objects like rocks and giant trees on the path. It could have been easier if he had usable hands but using his mouth and body to drag the objects was not much of a challenge.
Therefore, it was only after 3 whole days of arduous traveling that the caravan reached Yin Swamp Valley. A delay of one day was surely enough to allow for the hunting party to miss this group. Bai Yang thought so in his head as he overlooked the merchant group from an elevated mound many meters away.
Looking at the entrance of Yin Swamp Valley, a dark cloud-like substance hovered over the whole area. The trees that grew here were crooked and bent in all manner of ways; Bai Yang thought that they were performing a sort of dance in the wild.
None of the merchant group people neared this cursed place. Everyone knew why this place could earn a name even in the vast Chaozheng mountain ranges. The insect that grew in this place was especially fierce, it is said that if one is bitten even god could not save you.

The merchant group set up camp 2 kilometers away in a clearing. As merchants, they came here for profit, although the distant Yin Swamp Valley looked dangerous, the animals around this area had beautiful fur coats that would fetch high prices in the Chao country cities.
Nobles especially liked such material which was rare to chance upon.
Bai Yang took another glance and went in a certain direction. He did not forget the original intentions that brought him to this place.
After listening closely to the conversation of the merchant group from a distance away, he knew the general direction of the Green Bull Bandit hideout.
The location was not far from Yin Swamp Valley, but as he was moving on general description and vague direction, it took Bai Yang the entire afternoon to find the bandit hideout.
The place was located behind a not-so-tall hill shrouded by tall trees and a bush screen that made it difficult to notice the human settlement among the greenery.
Bai Yang cautiously hid behind a large tree and observed the situation.
The bandit hideout was not what he had expected, there was a large wooden hall in the middle and a few separate wooden houses, few tents littered the whole compound giving it a shabby look. There were 4 watchtowers at the four corners of the big compound.
According to the merchants, the rough figures of the Green Bull Bandits were around 80 to hundred people. The leader of this bandit group was not ordinary, possessing the strength of a Rank 8 martial artist.
That was all the information Bai Yang had at the moment.
The sun was setting and darkness had slowly crept in. Torches were lit on the top of the hill and Bai Yang could hear shouts, cheers, and the smell of burnt meat wafting from the bandit stronghold.
Bai Yang was disgusted with the smell of meat a natural vegetarian, he glanced at the top of the watchtower and the short bandit who had been on watch was nowhere to be seen.
The loud shouts of drunk bandits echoed in the mountains.
Bai Yang clicked his tongue, there was no discipline and it was a miracle that this group had survived to this day. However, it made it much easier to breach this bandit stronghold.
Bai Yang strolled casually along the short wooden fence, with a tap of his hoof it was child's play to jump over a three-meter wall. Bai Yang did not encounter any bandits on the way and followed the noise to the large hall-like building in the middle.
Peeking in through the slight gap in the door he could see everything inside.
The hall was large, the orange flames mounted on the walls made it as bright as day, and Bai Yang saw many dirty-looking bandits lay over a long wooden table. There was a lot of food on the table and the bandits would use their dirty hands to grasp a chicken leg or a drink of wine.
Many bandits were already drunk and had sprawled all over the table and ground.
'A banquet ' thought Bai Yang. He looked all over but could not see the leader of the Green Bull Bandits.
After making sure there was no other bandit around, Bai Yang went to the largest building and broke in through the front door.
Bai Yang was surprised after looking at the dark room, although it was dark, his goat eyes were able to see everything around the room.
There was animal fur covering the whole floor and on top of the wall there were mounted the heads of many ferocious beasts, there was luxurious-looking furniture in the middle of the room and a cabinet on the side.
Bai Yang did not stand to admire for so long, he went all over the room and searched every place but he found nothing. The only place he had not checked was here.
Looking at the wooden cabinet, Bai Yang used his horns to pry open the handle, there were a bunch of letters and documents but no money. Bai Yang was filled with disappointment. However, he did not give up.
He forcefully overturned the large cabinet and was surprised by what he found.
There Behind the cabinet was a large hole, covered by a piece of paper. After removing the paper, he finally cheered up after he saw his gains.
Silver! it was silver taels all over, so much silver!
Bai Yang almost exploded with happiness, with all of this silver he did not believe that he could not advance past Rank 9.
With a wave of his hoof, he redeemed all the money in the vault and heard the clear indication from the Life Simulator.
{The recharge is successful, current balance: 1005 taels }
{ Do you want to use Great Life simulator? Use once consumes 40 silver coins }
A thousand taels, Great!
Bai Yang almost cried after looking at the money in his account, he had been poor all this time, and it was time for him to finally achieve financial freedom.
Looking at the 40 taels required to use a simulator, he would, definitely would have been anxious if it was yesterday. Now? Haha .. this goat would not fret over a mere 40 taels.
However it was not yet time to enjoy the fruits of his hard work, he still needed to work hard and accumulate more capital. With more money, he would not be afraid of a mere Liu family hunting party.
Bai Yang trotted all over the bandit camp unchallenged and picked up as much money as his little goat eyes could find. His steps were crisp and his confidence had been boosted after chancing upon this great place.
Hey! this was his most treasured place, just like merchant Wang, the Green Bull Bandits were his dearest benefactors and he would not betray their trust and put the money to good use.
All good times must come to an end and after walking around the bandit camp for a few rounds, Bai Yang was sure he had picked up all the money. He did not choose to directly challenge the bandit group as he was unsure of the strength of Rank 8 Martial Artist therefore he did not barge into the big hall in the end but even then, looking at his account he was more than satisfied.
{The recharge is successful, current balance:1503 taels }
{ Do you want to use Great Life simulator? Use once consumes 40 silver coins }
1500 taels were more than enough to last him for a long time.
As Bai Yang was ready to return, he suddenly heard a shuffling sound from the latrines to the side. Squinting hard he saw a large man coming over.
He had a sturdy-looking body even from afar, he was more than 6 feet tall, and the clothes on his body although untidy were much better than the other bandits he had seen in the camp.
He looked middle-aged and a dark beard covered most of his body, his sharp eyes were quite visible, however.
Although drunk the middle-aged man was startled after encountering a strange animal on the way from the latrines.
Bai Yang could feel the abundant qi from the drunk man.
From the intensity it was definitely much greater than his Rank 9 martial artist qi!
Bai Yang knew he was in trouble.
