Chapter 1: Life simulator
Early morning, the rain fell, covering the entire Cao family village. As the village name suggested, the Cao village was covered in lush green grass. The rain, covered the grass in a layer of moisture, making the green grass look even more appetizing.
Under the eaves, in front of a small, wooden house, Er San sat on a bamboo bench, resting her chin on her hands, and kept looking towards the distance.
Finally from the distance, a white shadowy figure leisurely emerged and got closer to the small wooden house.
Er San, jumped up from the bamboo chair and her eyes shone with excitement. She wanted to rush out but realized it was raining. She looked anxious and shouted "Bai Yang! It's raining today, come quick."
The white shadow ignored the anxious girl and walked leisurely down the small dirt path, eying the moist grass on the way.
The little girl was disappointed as she watched the white figure walk past the small wooden house.
Realizing that she was ignored she stomped her little legs and huffed back into the house.
The Bai Yang who saw this was speechless but continued on his way.
Bai Yang did not go far before another aunty called out."Bai Yang! where are you going"
Bai Yang ignored this woman, why would he answer such rhetorical questions?
Bai Yang encountered other villagers before finally reaching his small, humble home.
A simple shed.
Bai Yang sighed as he lay down on the floor. In fact, he was grateful that the villagers still talked to him like a normal person.
"The job of a person who crossed over is not simple."
In fact, Bai Yang had a big secret, he was a so-called transmigrator. Yes, he was not a person of this world! He was a person who traveled across time and space from the planet earth.
It has been two and a half years, and he still hadn't left the novice village. He felt great shame for carrying the title of 'transmigrator'.
The village he was in was called Cao family village, located deep in the mountains. How remote you might ask? To go to the nearest human habitat would take two, to three days on the carriage. If one had to walk, it would take even longer.
People might question why others would come to live in a place where even birds didn't shit? The answer was surprising to avoid excessive taxes.
Hey, anywhere you go, even in other worlds, the damn taxes still followed!
Two and a half years ago, Bai Yang appeared in the forest near the Cao family village. He nearly starved to death but fortunately, avoided death due to the kind people of the Cao Family village.
So he lived for two and a half years, among the Cao village people.
The language was not Chinese as some people would have expected, Bai Yang took a long time before he could understand what the people were talking about.
From the words of the Cao folks, he pieced together a bunch of information after a long time. The country was called the great Chou.
Cao family village belonged to Yue` prefecture and is located in the mountain range of Chouzheng.
From the state of the Cao family Village, Bai Yang knew that he was in a feudal era. The life of most people was occupied by farming, the men were of dark complexion and yearned to marry women of the sturdy figure.

There were no two moons in the sky, nor were there two suns. However, this world was not simple. This was a world of martial arts cultivation.
Bai Yang, once saw Cao Wu, the most experienced hunter in the village rescue a young child of the village from a wolf, he killed it with but a single punch in the head.
Bai Yang thought that he had met the sweeping monk in the small Cao village. Unfortunately, he was wrong.
According to Cao Wu, his martial arts were nothing much. His martial arts were learned from a dojo in a town when he was young, unfortunately, he could not induce the breath and take the final step. He was kicked out of the dojo and could only live as a hunter in this small village.
Bai Yang secretly spied on Cao Wu's martial arts practice, and he was surprised after he found out that he could practice it.
After two and a half years of practice, he only felt slightly more invigorated but he never felt the breath Cao Wu talked of.
According to Bai Yang's prediction, it should be his body that was the problem.
As for, asking Cao Wu for a reason that was truly an absurd thought.
At this time, Bai Yang looked down at the majestic white fur. The four short hooves and the two curled-up horns sat on top of the head. The field of view was nothing like humans, very wide almost 360 degrees.
In fact, Bai Yang was a goat. A very ordinary white goat; with four limbs and a tail. When Bai Yang first transmigrated he was shocked. When he saw his image in the river water he felt like crying and wanted to commit suicide by jumping into the water.
Luckily after walking aimlessly in the forest, he was rescued by a village child, Er San. He followed her back to the Cao family village, the villagers were originally elated to have a food walk to them voluntarily.
However when they realized that the animal was quite spiritual, very much like a person, plus the folk fear of superstition they let go of this great goat.
In fact, they built a small shade for Bai Yang, treating him very much like a person. This allowed the suicidal thoughts of Bai Yang to subside and he lived just as an ordinary goat in the village.
So Bai Yang ate the green grass and drank the water the villagers offered him, living a very peaceful life for over two and a half years.
However, such a simple life would not last. As he still had a great hole card that had given him the will to continue living the life of a goat.
A year after he transmigrated, a panel appeared in front of him called "Great life simulator"
Yes, this was the great cheat of the 'transmigrator'.
The cheat could only be activated after gathering enough material.
The material was the filthy thing in the human world, the root of all evil, indeed as some might guess, it was money.
Unfortunately, as a goat in this life money was not something he could easily get.
After many lucky instances, he had gathered 10 taels of silver. The silver taels were the currency of this country of Chou. A family of three could live on three silver taels for over a month. Therefore 10 taels were a small fortune in the tiny Cao Family village.
That's why he had to bury this treasure in the ground. Bai Yang used his hooves to dig into his resting place unraveling the 10 taels after digging for about 2 meters.
Bai Yang redeemed the coins with a touch, and immediately the silver coins disappeared out of existence. Looking at this scene, Bai Yang did not even attempt to understand which great scientist was spinning in his grave from such a magical scene, he looked at the panel and the insufficient balance prompt had finally faded, replaced by a simulate button.
He pressed the Simulator button with his hooves.
{Do you want to use Great Life simulator? Use once consumes 10 silver coins }
Bai Yang felt like his life was finally saved. After two and a half years of struggle, he finally felt like his life was about to be turned around.
Perhaps this was his chance to redeem himself?
He did not wait any longer and quickly clicked on the simulator button.
After he clicked, line after line ran on the simple panel. Somewhat like in the code movies he had seen.
{At the age of 32, you were taken in by Cao Family village}
{At the age of 34.5, you decided to venture out of the village.
In the wild you encountered bandits that hunted you down, you were strong enough and managed to escape. You finally reached a big town and wandered around. A chef named Liang saved you from other people. As you had guessed one year later, Chef Liang merely wanted you for your flesh. You escape a day before and obtained Chef Liang's "Yellow essence art" after close observation }
{At the age of 35, you were hunted many times by people who were after your flesh and decided to go up the mountain and become immortal. }
{At the age of 40, you took a whole 5 years to sense the breath and became a Grade 9 Martial Artist}
{At the age of 50, you did not improve in your martial arts for ten years and went down the mountain. On the road, you encountered a lone Grade 7 Martial Artist, he desired your flesh, and you resisted desperately. You were killed on the spot and were barbequed }
Bai Yang stared speechlessly at the last line of words and stared blankly for a long time. Was that it?
How bad his talent was taking five years to become a Grade 9 Martial Artist and not advancing after ten years.
Bai Yang lamented his poor goat life, wandering from place to place, escaping evil humans but still he was barbequed in the end!
Bai Yang felt great resentment build in his goat heart.
perhaps this was the origin story of an evil goat who would later terrorize the cannibals. Who knows, Bai Yang felt like his hopes were getting further and further away.
{The simulation is complete, you can keep one of the following.}
{1. Martial arts at the age of 50 }
{2. Martial arts experience at the age of 50}
{3. The wisdom of life at the age of 50}
Bai Yang's overcast expression faded quickly after he saw the options.
looking at all three options he knew the most appropriate choice.
He clicked on 1 without the slightest hesitation.
There was a saying which went everything is an illusion compared to the realm.
Bai Yang did not know if this was true but he still chose 1 anyways.
The next moment, Bai Yang felt a warm current overflow his whole body, a martial art emerged in his mind "Yellow essence art"
He felt that he had trained the martial arts for years until the warm current was like his own arm, he could move freely. He knew that he had entered the ranks of martial artists.
He was a Rank 9 Martial Artist!
Bai Yang opened his eyes after a long time.
Bai Yang trotted towards a small rock in the distance the size of a small refrigerator. He used one hoove and knocked on the gray stone.
The next moment, his hoove had penetrated into the large rock and it had cracked and was about to fall apart.
He felt like he had not unleashed all his strength but he had cracked such a large rock. Bai Yang was amazed by the energy his little hooves possessed.
He wanted to sing "Finally this goat is one with the force !"
Unfortunately, a goat could not sing. However, the excited bleating still resounded throughout the whole village for a long time.
Author note: This is inspired by a Xuan huan novel I read a while back. I thought it would be funny to give it a slight change and write it out.
