Ding Dong!
Hue woke with a start, filled in his dead mans switch, and basked in the glow of his simulated sunrise. Despite his situation, he was feeling good.
He stood up from the floor. Sleep had crept up on him last night.

Hue glanced at his emails, and one in particular caught his eye. The bottom of Hues stomache was about to drop out. Right about... now?
Hue felt tredipation, but there was no related physical feeling.

Hey Hue, Dont know if you got my previous email, but I just wanted to let you know that I may have made a mistake, I hope its not too serious.
So on Tuesday, I finished writing the tool to clean up the data in dev for the new update, basically just remove field X and wrap it in {Metadata} .
I couldnt find my set of keys for the dev database, so I went to ask you, but you were off sick(Hope you are feeling better)
I didnt want to bother anyone else, so I opened the GoodSub project and grabbed the env variables from the pipeline files.
After running the program, I couldnt see any changes in dev, so I checked the keys, and I think I accidently grabbed the Prod keys.
Anyway, prod is not quite down... but if anyone sorts the database by createAt, I think it will crash the program...
I am not sure what to do now, I cant just run the program in reverse, since the process is not reversable. And I dont have the permissions to deploy the updates to prod... Can you help me? ๐ญ

Hue looked at the time. He would have time to fix this before the day started.
He pulled up the logs and read through them. Only five entries had been made since Rajs messup, Hue copied them from the database and rolled back the database to right before Rajs program ran. He then appended the lines to the end of the prod database.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Sometimes interns made good security testers. Hue closed the loophole by restricting read access to the production code to devops and above

Mary:All good, Get well so... Hey Raj, I fixed the database for you. Please refrain from altering the database directly without prior approval in the future. Theres a reason you are not supposed to have those keys. While I am away, Mary will be your supervisor.

Hue clicked the upgrade button.... And nothing changed.

It looked to Hue that it was definitely a good idea to upgrade. There was a lot less load on the system.
Looking closer, Hue noticed that the uptime ticker didnt seem right,
After a few moments, Hue concluded that he was running about thirty times faster then realtime.
Hue needed some time to think about what to do next, because it seemed like he would have a lot of it.
