Chapter 7
Emerald Academy.
A learning center where the number of students amount to less than the total number of fingers on your hand. Led by the powerful wizard Domum, many geniuses known throughout history have come from this school.
What is curious about this school is that almost no one knows of its existence, save for several powerful figures in society. Anyone who knows of it would try by any means to enroll their children into this academy.
However, the requirements for enrollment are astonishing.
First, only children less than 13 years old can enroll.
Second, the child must have powerful control over mana. On a scale of one to ten, their control must be at least a seven. The general mage usually has a control of two.
Third, the child must train in another form of combat other than magic.
These are the main requirements, but there are some other untold rules. One of the most obvious one is that no matter your status, race, criminal background, mental status, even if you are a Jirokara… as long as you are strong, they will accept you.
“…so why are you telling me all of this?”
“Why, because I’m enrolling you of course.” With that said, Trey tied up Gear and jumped out of the house.
“Hey! Let me down, you have not received my consent!” Screaming and throwing a tantrum like a little child, Gear pounded on Trey’s back. On the outside, Trey was smiling at the boy’s misfortune and reactions. On the inside however…
“Damn, how strong is this kid!?! His blows are almost breaking my back! If I couldn’t recover, he could’ve broken my spine by now.”

Bringing him along, they tied him up with some strong rope. What was strange was that even when he utilized his maximum strength, he still could not break free.
"Let me go! I will not blindly abide to such an irregular act!"
"Stop saying such complicated words. With a kid like you saying it, it ruins the image of young innocent boys."
"Do not label me the same as others easily."
"Yeah, yeah. Little Gear-y here thinks he's a lot more mature than others."
"Stop mocking the great me!"
Skipping the various tantrums and other small talk, he eventually calmed down.
"So why are you taking me away?"
"Oh, calmed down now?"
"Don't start another debate."
"Anyways, the reason that I'm taking you to Emerald Academy is simple. You are strong. Thus, you are required by Educational Law 343 to attend school. I quote: "Any Graduate From A 1st Degree Establishment With A Position No Lower Than 1st Order Has The Ability By Law To Recommend Any Suitable Child To A First Rate Education Facility." Or something like that."
"...what makes you think I am so strong." Gear spoke more sharply this time. He wasn't asking a question, but spoke with a tone of ordering them.
"Easy," speaking as if nothing was wrong, Trey continued. "I have the power to see souls. Your's is strong, so you are strong. It's simple."
Although they spoke a bit more, the great author (me) decided that the story should go along without anymore chitchat. Gear pondered upon the words that Trey spoke.
"My soul? Do I have such a thing that can be perceived by others? Is it related to the mysterious {SOUL} file?"
