Chapter 5 Rozz

Chapter 5 Rozz

I walked home with a big smile on my face, and I got into the house, but my parents bombarded me with questions. At least of where I was and if I was hurt by wildlife. I said nothing about Dove, I think she would want her privacy and told them I'm a big girl. I went to my room and brought out a suitcase, then locked my door to pack up some clothes. Then put some sketchbooks into my backpack and some woodworking tools, then other art supplies so I could still work.

Then I told my parents I will go on a trip that will last for as long as I need so that I can prepare for an art exhibition. In a way, it isn't wrong, but it seemed to calm them thinking I'll be surrounded by people. In a good way, I might be surrounded by people that will appreciate my art possibly. I don't know much about her, but she is nice to talk to and relaxes a bit. At least she seemed like it to me and I walk through the woods to Dove's place, but I hear something snap a twig.

So I jump when hearing that and turn around, I saw my ex-friend and Jack. They came out of hiding and start to speak to me.

"Where do you think you are going? there are beasts out there" Jack says acting like I'm a scared kid.

"None of both of your businesses, so leave my sight," I say coldly now.

"I'm your friend," Tallie says like she hasn't turned bad.

"That's a bunch of bullshit, you never cared about me," I say with venom in my words.

She laughed and said, "Jack is a great guy, but you are too selfish to see that".

"Then sleep with him instead of me, I'm not into guys you are," I say getting madder every second.

Then I heard a howl from the distance and turn to leave the trespassers behind. But Jack grabs my arm and I stomp onto his foot, then screamed. Then a black wolf came out of the bushes and for a moment I was scared, but then I remember it might be Dove. I wrench my arm out of Jack's hand and look coldly at Tallie, then run away to safety. At least what I hope is safety, no longer was I seen and in through the gates to the house feeling tears well up.

I didn't see anyone outside and dropped my bags to try to calm down, a deer came over to comfort me. must be someone cursed to be an animal like Dove maybe, I'm unsure if anything is real now. My friendship ended like a train crash and nothing could save it, why couldn't I see it before that night? I must have been blind to the world I knew. Dove walked into where I was and I tried to wipe away my tears fast, but she saw them anyway. She got down with me and I try to control myself, but without reading my mind she held me through the tears.

It felt like we had been there a long time, but by the looks of it, the sun is rising to lighten the room with orange and yellow maybe a bit pink. Dove started to turn into a wolf as dawn shifted the light and shadows. I backed away a bit and when it was over I was face to face with a black wolf with blue eyes. I reach out slowly and she closes her eyes to wait for it like lightning. I cup her cheeks and put my head on hers, I was trying to comfort her now I think.

I felt comforted by her presence now too, it is like having a pet and never knowing their thoughts. The deer tilts her head and got curious about something honestly, so I got up to pay attention better. She had a blouse on that seemed weird, but then I laugh a bit at how now this is a life I'm in. Then I try to feel calm again and pick my bag up and then my suitcase.

"well I believe there are more of you here, so if it isn't too much trouble I would like to rest. Is there a room for me to lay in for a while?" I say calmly.

The Doe I should say guided me back to the room I was in before "Oh so this is mine?".

The Doe nodded and Dove left with her to give me space to look around. So I put my clothes in the dressers and there even were someone else's clothes in there too. I left those alone and noticed a desk so I set some things on it to use, but I got a bit curious. A little looking won't hurt a thing, so I look in the drawers and only saw parchment paper and fancy envelopes. She must order those somehow or they were here already and then I put everything back closed.

So I went to bed to rest a while and fell asleep on the spot of the pillow.
