“Old geezer, what if I meet someone I can’t win against?”
“Stupid question, of course you run away!” The old geezer showed no sign of feeling ashamed as though it was the perfectly right answer, all while munching on an apple.
Young Drako Yau shot a disdainful look at his teacher. After a while, he asked, “What if I can’t get away?”
The old geezer tossed the apple core away and snorted, “Then you fight with all you’ve got.”
----------------------------------------
Phantasma Violet stared blankly at Drako Yau’s back. It didn’t take long for him to recover and break into a laugh. “Interesting, truly interesting! But do you think you can run away from me?”
A flash flickered at where he stood, and the next moment, Phantasma Violet was already flying straight towards Drako Yau along with a streak purple of light.
Drako Yau could feel the wind pressing against his back. Hastily turning around, he could see Phantasma Violet closing in on him with a cunning smile while saying, “Take this.”
Though Phantasma Violet was still over fifty metres away, he thrust his palm outwards to strike his target with a burst of aura.
Everything vanished from Drako Yau’s vision. Nothing but the purple man’s palm-shaped aura remained. The palm aura was also purple and was just the size of your average man, but such an ordinary-looking palm was no ordinary at all. It was not a simple palm aura strike—it felt more like a reaper, a monster, a voodoo charm.
The palm fluttered towards Drako Yau and reached him in just a breath’s worth of time.
“AHHHH!!!!” Drako Yau felt that he was forced into a corner. The palm was inevitable, irresistible. At that moment, the old geezer’s teachings sprung from the depths of his memories.
“Then you fight with all you’ve got.”
Fight with all I’ve got…
Fear and terror were no longer present in Drako Yau’s eyes, replaced by a desperate yet determined glow that belonged to a warrior who was making his last stand.
Phantasma Violet licked his lips. This expression… It’s wonderful!
----------------------------------------
Drako Yau only had time to make one move before the purple palm reached him. Entering a battle stance, twisting his waist, and thrusting his spear—they were technically three moves, but they flowed smoothly to become a single move.
Starting from the moment he planted his feet until he thrust out Dawnlight, his entire body moved as one. He even had the leisure to think, This thrust… The geezer should be proud of it, right?

The tip of his spear drove towards the purple aura. The moment the two entities met, an ear-wrecking boom shuddered the world. The weapon held its own against the monstrous palm, but only for half a second before it started shattering and breaking off into pieces.
Drako Yau grunted as he was cannoned backwards, but the shattering didn’t stop at his weapon. After Dawnlight had been obliterated and ceased to exist, it spread to his vambrace, then all over his body. His entire armour set turned into dust, revealing his underclothes. When the damage reached the Mask of the Hidden Dragon, the mask gave off a blinding glow as though it was fighting against the destruction and came out as the victor.
But when his weapon and armour had all been shattered, his flesh and bones came next. The force was so devastating that he thought he might be better off getting hit by an airship at flying at full speed.
Suddenly, a gleaming golden beam shot out from among the crowd lined up on both sides of the road. The beam entered Drako Yau’s body, and he could feel the pain within him alleviated slightly. He subconsciously turned to look at the person and barely managed to catch a glimpse of the person’s ID. The next moment, he lost consciousness and fainted.
“Hoh?” Intrigued, Phantasma Violet penetrated his gaze through the crowd. “This is way too enthralling… Ah, I should leave… Or else I can’t hold myself back anymore…”
His face flushed bright red like he had seen a peerless beauty, he covered his face with his palm. Yet, he vanished the next moment, leaving behind a tint of purple mist which also dissipated shortly after.
Right after Phantasma Violet disappeared, every monster made a break for the west gate and disappeared. The players could hear the system’s voice in their heads. “Successfully defended against the fourth wave. The second wave will begin in fifteen minutes.”
----------------------------------------
Thousands of miles away from the city, Phantasma Violet abruptly widened his eyes. If Drako Yau knew that the Phantasma Violet he had met just now was just a clone that had less than a tenth of the original’s strength, would he be disheartened?
However, Phantasma Violet had a serious look on his face right now as he had to confront an even greater enemy. The translucent dome surrounding him shook violently, a lot more so than last time. Suddenly, it shot out an invisible shockwave from the sky at Phantasma Violet.
Phantasma Violet focused his gaze and pointed his right palm to the sky. A layer of purple glow shot out from his palm and clashed with the dome’s attack.
He grunted as his back arched while trying to withstand the tremendous force from above. The bones in Hiller’s corpse, which he had been using as a seat, made a series of cracking noises before it finally gave in. His entire body punctured through the corpse and even made a crater in the ground.
Finally, the terrifying shockwave faded away. Phantasma Violet, albeit slightly ragged, got back up onto his feet and wiped the blood from the corners of his mouth, then muttered, “I get it, breaking the rules is a no, right? I only went there using my clone. If he died so easily, it would’ve been meaningless. Might as well die so you can find a replacement sooner!”
Phantasma Violet received no response at all, and the shockwave had long since disappeared. After a good while, he grunted again and got out of the crater.
Heller immediately came over with a deferential look and asked, “Sir, how are you…”
Before it could finish its sentence, Heller widened its eyes and its ugly face distorted into an odd shape. The next moment, its entire head exploded like a watermelon, splattering flesh and blood everywhere.
Phantasma Violet clapped his hands and had the smile of a madman. “Feeling a lot better,” he said. After killing Heller, he wiped the sweat from his body and trotted away while humming an unknown tune. Soon, he could no longer be seen, along with the bodies of the two beastmen which reigned over all beastmen.

Half dazed, Drako Yau felt like his body was immersed in a hot spring.
Hm? This sensation…
It was a familiar one. Drako Yau opened his eyes and saw that he was lying on a bed. The same old granny was chanting a spell with a solemn look while rays of light were shining onto him. It was such lights that gave a comfortable sensation similar to that of a hot spring.
