After I was done admiring the car, I noticed a dead lady on the floor. Checking her hands, I noticed the keys to the GTR,
“Yes! Perfect”.
“Where are we gonna go bro?” Asks Britney
“I'm not sure. I'm thinking of heading towards the damascus area. Mostly farmlands and big properties out there.”
“You think it's safe?”
“I don't know. I guess we’ll find out”
I then unlock the car and get inside as britney takes shotgun. With no time to admire the interior, I opened the garage using the button on the ceiling. As the garage door crept upwards, I Noticed a goblin group of 4 right in front of me.
“I guess it’s time for a new paintjob” I said as i gassed it. The goblins, with no time to dodge or react, got trampled by my godzilla of a car.
“Roadkill red” I say. My sister just gives me a weird look.
“Err roadkill blue I guess” I correct myself.
As I drove down the neighborhood mainroad, up to the main main road, I notice fires everywhere and the screaming just never stops. I see people being eaten on the road that i just swerve around. My sister has a horrified face, while I had an air of aloofness. I know the world went to shit, but what do these people have to do with me. As I soon got up to the main road, I notice my turn to the right is blocked.
“Shit. How do I get through this.”
“Bro just go on the oncoming lane”
“Oh yea. Duh”
Our mainroad had a barrier so I didn't think of going on oncoming. I guess I follow logical laws subconsciously. As I get into the oncoming lane, another car was speeding down and we almost collided. I then notice a giant rock monster, blocking the roadway throwing cars at anything living. It notices us not too soon later.
“Shit!” I slam on my brakes and spin around using e brake and luckily this was a 2 lane, so I didn't have too much trouble. Right as i starting gassing it forward, a flying car crashes down 5 ft in front of me, bouncing and rolling forward.
“Fuck fuck fuck fuck! Don't hit my godzilla oh giant rock golem” I said as I was swerving to avoid flying cars. I soon managed to get out of range, but I can still hear the golem roar.
“Looks like damascus is a no go”
“Then where do we go bro?”
“I don’t know.. Do you think any of our friends are alive?”
“We have to find some of them!”
“My parents are also out there at work.”
“Costco for your mom first?”
“Yea”
I drove down the road towards my mom's work, hoping that she’d be fine.

As I drove down the main road from the more residential side, to the more shopping area, I noticed things getting worse. More people are getting attacked and the looters have already appeared. I see people fighting each other, as monsters prey on whoever they want. I watched as I passed it all.

"BRO!"
I look forward to see a truck getting attacked by zombies gripping on the car as it swerves. It was too late for me to dodge, so I swerved and braked hard to get hit in the rear, making me spin out and hit a light pole, knocking me out in the process.
I groggily wake up to a flaming engine and 2 busted airbags. I look over to my right and see my sis knocked out with blood running down her head. A feeling of something gripping my heart comes to me. Before the tears came to my eyes, I remember to check her pulse. Lifting my weak right arm up, I check her pulse. As soon as I touched her, she mumbles a bit. Relief strikes me. I shake her a little bit, and she slowly opens her eyes to wake up
“Thank goodness you're fine sis. I thought you were gone too.”
“What. What happened bro?” She says while she cranes her neck and massages it.
“We got hit by a truck and hit this pole. We gotta get out sis” I respond as I took off my seatbelt and grab my bag and weapons. She quickly follows suit and we exit the car. Luckily no monsters were near, as most of them were at the stores off the main road. We seemed to have crashed at an intersection in the middle of the store plaza.
“Shit. I don’t think we can go through this towards my mom. It'll just keep getting more crowded because of the mall near costco.”
“But your mom is over there.”
“Im sure she's fine”. I gave her a fake smile, “she can take care of herself.. I hope.”
I say as we walk towards another neighborhood. Luckily it seems the store plaza attracted most of the monsters around here, so we got in the neighborhood safe, without a monster encounter. As we walked through the neighborhood, sword out, I searched for a good house to sleep for the night. It was getting dark, being the middle of winter. It was about 4pm now. “From what I know from games and post apocalyptic movies, being out after dark is never a good idea. Nothing good comes out at night. Besides weed” I said. “We better look for a house to stay”
I found a house that seemed empty, with many places to escape. We went around, through the back, and found the backdoor to be opened. Walking through it, alert as can be, I notice the smell of feces and blood. Looking to the right, I saw a dead man faced down.
“There might be something in here. Stay behind me sis.”
“Right” she responds, lifting her knife.
“Speaking of which sis, I need to teach you how to wield that.”
Before the red flare, I was trained on how to use swords. On my 18th birthday, I got myself a katana, which I am using now. I then started training everyday with my wooden bokken in my backyard, along with taking lessons on kendo and iaido, making me proficient with the sword and other blades alike.
After thoroughly searching the house, we found nothing.
“Whatever killed this man must have left out the backdoor. Lets lock all the doors and prepare dinner”
We cooked whatever what was in the house, saving dry food and non perishables in out bags. We found a bedroom with 2 twin beds.
Me and my sister have no qualms about sleeping in the same room, so we picked our beds and set our bags down. I set my katana alongside the bed to my right and kept a knife under my pillow. I picked the bed closest to the door to fight anything that might break in, protecting my sister. I turned around and see my sis changing into pajamas.
“Sis, we have an apocalypse and you still brought pajamas…”
“But I always sleep with pajamas”
“Not anymore sis. You need to stay dressed to be ready to leave at any moment. We don't know what will happen.”
“Oh… Ok bro.” She responds while putting her jeans back on.
“When we find a good place to live, safer than most places, then we can have such luxuries, but right now we just have to survive. Now lets try to get some sleep. We’re leaving as soon as the sun rises”
“Uhhgg” she says as she pulls her blanket over herself. I too put a blanket over me, facing the door at all times and went to sleep.
